((Plus, people found ways to get alcohol secretly. Whether by the bootlegs we all know about, or directions on pill bottles that essentially were like DO NOT BOIL AT 218 DEGREES FOR 10 MINUTES OR IT WILL BECOME ALCOHOL. Also, cops were easy to bribe.))
Carlina smiled back. "So, a good night, isn't it?"
"Very," Peggy replied, reaching the bar finally.
"So, what can I get you, ladies?" Maria asked as the two girls approached, cleaning a glass.
"Just a water to start, for me," Peggy replied, looking over at Carlina for her response.
"Water as well, please." She said
"Two waters," Peggy told the woman.
"Alright, coming right up!" Maria turned around to get the waters, filling the cups with ice too. "Here you ladies are." she said, placing the waters in front of them.

"Thank you." She said sweetly
“No problem, darlin,” Maria said, taking the bills and sending a ‘thank you’ smile in the other girls direction.
Peggy smiled kindly and took a sip of her water. "So, Carlina, you're a good dancer. Where did you learn to dance like that?"
"My room, under Ms. Boredom." She said, taking a small sip.
Nykidia nodded at the girls who sat down.
Peggy laughed and nodded back at the second barmaid. "Well, you're certainly very good."
"Thank you."
Peggy shrugged. "No problem. I just say it like it is."
