"I guess. Do you need help getting there?" Nick held out his hands, in case she decided to fall. Maybe once we get to the apartment, I'll call a doctor.

She nodded weakly. This sucked. Usually, she took care of herself and now was no different.

Nick swept her up in his arms, and started to walk down to his apartment. They got a few weird looks, but he glared at them, reminding them to mind their own business.

@Elder-God-Whisper

Tick had scaled the side of the building. It was a terrible idea, she knew that, but she hardly thought that the soft, city tribe members would be able to follow her. She swung up onto a balcony, after making sure nobody was home. She slumped against the wall and sighed, still tense with fear.

Nick had arrived at his apartment, or more like a penthouse, and laid the mysterious Outsider on the couch. He glanced around the house, making sure nothing was missing. In New York, your apartment could get broken into at any moment, no matter how rich or poor you were. Eyes arriving at the balcony, he noticed a pair of legs sticking out. Somebody's out there!

Sniffing the air, Nick recognized it as the same Niagra Falls Tribe member from earlier. He walked over there and threw open the door, revealing the girl. "What do you think you're doing on my balcony?"

@Elder-God-Whisper

Tick bolted upright and backed away. She lept for the side of the building starting to scale it again. "Why can't I just catch a break!?!" She was panicking. She did NOT want to head to jail. "Freakin' drunk dad is what got me in this situation!!" She was mumbling under her breath as she heaved herself quickly up the bricks in fear.

Shit. Nick jumped up and grabbed the back of her shirt, tugging her down on the balcony. "Not so fast, Niagra." he snarled. He didn't catch what she said, it just heard like incoherent mumbling.

Rejina tried to stand. "What's the matter?" she asked quietly. Talking too loud hurt.

@Elder-God-Whisper

Tick instinctively threw him a punch in her fear and then swung her leg in a kick. "NO! I CAN'T GO BACK THERE!!" She was shaking in fear. She then just went limp, a dead look coming into her eyes. She slumped to the floor, kneeling in front of him with her head down. "Not again…" her voice was in a monotone. "Not… again…" Her chest was heaving as she hyperventilated.

“Shit!” Nick stumbled back as the girl clocked him in the jaw and kicked him, now leaning against the bar of the balcony. He touched his face gingerly, pressing down lightly. That’s going to leave a bruise…

Nick glanced over at Rejina, and then back at the strange girl who was now in a fetal position hyperventilating. Rubbing a hand over his face, he crouched down next to the Niagra Falls native, even though every instinct in his body was telling him not to. “You alright?” Nick kept the words short and simple.

(Hey! Don’t want this to die after it’s barely begun! ;)

@Elder-God-Whisper

(Sorry. My family was sick this weekend so I couldn't get on a ton. I'm always on more during the week.)

Tick jumped and scrambled away from him, only to bash her head against the brick wall. She cried out and curled back into a fetal position, whimpering and clutching her head. "I haven't been "alright" in many years…" She kept her face hidden in her legs, curled up tightly.

(You’re good!)

Nick winced as she banged her head on the wall. Yikes, that’s gotta hurt. “Well, come inside. I’ll call a doctor or whatever to get your and Rejina’s heads checked out. Then, I’ll decide what to do with you.” The only reason he wanted her inside is because she was making a scene. A small group of people had stopped on the ground below and was looking at them curiously.

@Elder-God-Whisper

Tick-Tock shook her head. "No doctors…" she whispered, unfurling from her position. Other than that, she remained silent and still, looking at the floor of the balcony.

Deleted user

"Fine, no doctor," Nick crossed his arms and leaned against the wall. "But at least go inside." he said, his tone holding a hint of pleading. He didn't like being the talk of the town even more-it was bad enough being the Chief's son.

@Elder-God-Whisper

Tick nodded and quickly stood, walking calmly into the apartment. As soon as she was out of sight of the balcony, however, she bolted for the corner and curled up, cowering. She could smell that this was not a normal Brooklynder.

Nick sighed, and walked inside. Seeing Niagra bolt, he jumped and got ready to run. She better not-Oh. His muscles relaxed once he saw she only was sitting in the corner, again. Pulling out his phone, he dialed his on-call doctor.

"Hey, Doc. Can you come here ASAP? I have someone that might have a concussion. 15 minutes? Great. See ya."

@Elder-God-Whisper

Tick just rocked and tried to disappear. She didn't want to think about what was going to happen to her. She really didn't want to go to jail, but it would probably be better than going back home…

Nick stuffed the phone back in his pocket, and glanced over to the girl in the corner. His brow furrowed when he saw her rocking back and forth. Was she scared? “Wanna tell me your name?” he asked.

@Elder-God-Whisper

Tick squeaked when the boy spoke to her. She pressed herself against the wall and looked up at him with wide, terrified eyes and choked out, "Tick… Tick-Tock. M-My name is- is Tick-Tock." She threaded her fingers through her hair and curled up tighter, afraid of what the boy might do.

Deleted user

"Alright, good." At least we're getting somewhere. "My names Nick." He noticed her wide eyes and shaking form. "Why are you scared?" he asked. Was she afraid of him? Was he acting harshly?

@Elder-God-Whisper

Tick shut her mouth and hid again, shaking her head. No more talking. It would only make things worse. Plus, he smelled… powerful. …Dangerous even. The only time she had ever smelled something similar was one time far in the past when she had been in a summer camp with her tribe's chief's son. This was bad. Really bad…

Deleted user

Nick began to get worried. Why is she so scared? She certainly can't tell that I'm the…Oh. He almost smacked himself in the face how dumb he was. He crossed his arms and leaned against the wall, sighing softly. "You can smell it, right?" he said, not looking at her.

@Elder-God-Whisper

Tick-Tock avoided looking at him. "That's not the only reason…" She laid down onto the floor, her hair spread out around her. "But yes…" She pressed her back against the wall and closed her eyes tight as she tried to calm her racing heart. "I can smell it… What is it? Who are you?"

Deleted user

"Nick Foresting, Chief's son. Nice to meet you." Nick said dejectedly. He hated telling people what his status was; it always made them stop talking to him or suck up to him, hoping to get an upgrade. He rubbed a hand over his face. Just can't wait to see her reaction.

Deleted user

Rejina was pretending to be asleep, but she was listening. The Chief's son?! Oh God Oh God Oh God…

@Elder-God-Whisper

Tick-Tock curled up tighter and squeaked in fear a bit when he said "chief's son". Other than that she didn't do much. She sighed. "Just my luck…" she mumbled. She continued, "Just wait 'til he finds I don't have a permit… I'll be really goin' to jail then. At least it's better than back…" She didn't realize she was talking aloud, however quiet.

Deleted user

"You…You don't have a permit?" Nick said, voice full of shock. If someone found out that Tick didn't have a permit, there was no telling what could happen to her. Jail was just one of the things that could happen. There was no telling with his father. "You need to get a permit, ASAP." his tone held urgency.
