Oh yeah, that too. Chicken and horse feed is our issue. Luckily we have a Jack Russel Terrier. She is the gentlest friendliest dog I have ever met. But woe to any rat that crosses her path. She changes into a ferocious monster in an instant.

We had mice living in our garage for a while, I think we finally got rid of the last of them a few months ago. They used to take my dad's deer corn and put it in random places, like his harness gear, and inside the boat. They literally put it on top of a car battery that was inside his car, and they chewed his welding blanket, and…it was just kind of a mess. ~Jak

They are such a nuisance. They've gotten into boxes of stored blankets and torn them and made nests. And then we had this large solid storing bin for horse feed, and you could see all these marks where they tried to eat through it. Like, how desperate are you?

@Elder-God-Whisper

(We had a box full of plastic animal water bottles, and the rats ate them! I was shuddering in disgust when my mom gave me the job of sorting through them to salvage the ones that weren't eaten.)

@shattered_heart

I am honestly amazed at what they can go through. And you have my pity, dear. Going through rat eaten mess is no pleasant task as I unfortunately know.
I had to sort through blankets once. They had huge holes in them and some of them had even been used as nests. It was so gross.

(shudders Glad there's someone else who understands. lol)

It's crazy how this discussion has gone from archery to rats. I missed out on a lot of the "fun," I see. Yuck! ~Jak

@Jacqueline-Kelly

Haha, I think I've been responsible for quite a few of them. Sorry about that.

It's okay. At least the discussion has been pretty interesting so far.

@shattered_heart

Traditional. I don't have any doubt about that. Compounds are to chunky and modern for me. I mean, since I'm into fantasy and all that, I just really love the traditional fan.
Have you read Ranger's Apprentice? It's part of the reason I really got into archery.

@Elder-God-Whisper

(lol. Haven't really read past the first book, but I have heard about it. I like compound, just 'cause it's easier to aim. I took up archery because my mom made me. Continued 'cause it was something I was insanely good at.)

I'm more used to Compound, because that's what I have to shoot in tournaments, but I do have a recurve bow as well.

@Jacqueline-Kelly

Hey, @elvirawolfheart, I was on Storybird today and I saw an account with the same name as yours. Are you on SB too?

I have tried a compound and they are nice and easy, but yeah, I love the recurve. I really love elves and fantasy rangers and I can't imagine them with compounds. Lol, basically the only reason I like the recurve. Although, modern elves might like compund, I guess.

Lucky you, I'm insanely good at being insanely good at nothing. The other reason I got into archery was because I really love elves and they are usually pictured with the traditional bow.

Hahaha, a lot of people have trouble getting past the first book. I've read the whole series although I haven't started the Royal Ranger (which branches out of the series). I mean, I read the Royal Ranger book which was the 12th Ranger's Apprentice book, but is now the beginning of the Royal Ranger series. It's confusing, but I hope you get what I mean. The girl characters are terrible but I love the guys to bits. You should really try and continue.

*Claps hands and cheers * Yay, another birdy! Yes, that was me you saw. I am writing the book called Together. It's not the best thing I've started writing and I'm not particularly that pleased with it, but a fair few people seem to have enjoyed it. What's your username, may I ask?

Oh, I'm Jakaila_Kelly. I saw some poetry that was pretty good of yours. :) ~ Jak

@Jacqueline-Kelly

Thanks! I'm a little insecure about my writing, lol.

Hmm, maybe I should go stalk you.

XD XD Reading this just made me laugh. I'm a little insecure, too, but there's cause for pride in every writer. I really should check out your stories! The new SB is about to take over! ~Jak

@shattered_heart

Are you leaving too? I'm thinking of shifting to Wattpad or something.

I guess most writers are a little insecure. It's just that what I create (be it art or writing), it's a part of me, so it's like I'm opening up to the world and letting them see inside. And if someone makes a hurtful comment about what you created, it's like they are saying something personal. I've been made fun of my other hobbies (singing and art), so I'm very nervous about my writing now.

(I totally get that. I've been told that I sing well by my mom and one of my friends, but then my brother kept insisting that I sound like a dying goose, so I've been scared to sing anything. [My whistling improved though.] And then I don't like to show my writing because it always felt like people were lying through their teeth when they picked up my stories and read it.)

That's very true. I'm sure that you're a wonderful artist and singer, and I'll be sure to check out your writing soon!

I'm very much not on board with SB's transition, but I paid for a membership, so I'm going to see it through. I'm not wasting $60, but I have been getting my affairs in order for some time now. ~Jak

My parents wouldn't think it would be worth paying for, so I don't have that option. Oh well, I'll see how it goes.

I'm sorry. I do hope that your journey to other sites goes well, and let me know what works best! (I'll be migrating sooner or later) ~Jak

Well, I was told I sounded like a dying cow by both my brother and sister.

(lol. I guess it's a sibling thing.)

Yes, siblings generally do not encourage your singing, unless you have a very nice sibling or an undeniably beautiful voice. My sister and I don't always like hearing each other sing, even when it's nice singing. ~Jak
