Sebastian sat down next the her, grinning goofily. “That’s the point.” A few tufts of his blond hair were peaking out from the makeshift hood, adding to the adorable appearance.
“So cute,” Devon chuckled. Her eyes widened when she realized she’d said that out loud, a deep blush appearing on her cheeks.
Sebastian's cheeks instantly flared bright red. He opened his mouth to reply, then quickly shut it again.
“Sorry,” Devon murmured, looking down at her hands, thoroughly embarrassed. Why did she have to say that out loud?
"It's fine," he said quickly, stumbling over his words. "I was, uh, worried for a second that you had mistaken me for Layla."
Devon looked up with a small smile and chuckled a bit, though it was soft and hesitant. “Oh, yes. I definitely mistook a grown man for my two-year-old daughter. I think I need glasses.”
Sebastian snorted despite his stupidly racing heart, silently berating himself. "What can I say? Never really grew out of my baby fat."
“Hm, yes, I can tell,” Devon said, her smile becoming less hesitant as they joked.
"Hey!" Sebastian morphed his expression into one of false, over-dramatic shock.
Devon laughed lightly, shaking her head in amusement. "It's all in your face. You've got squishy-looking cheeks," she teased, her grin making it clear she was joking.
He pulled his lips into a mock pout. "Unfair…"
"Sorry, Sebs," Devon chuckled, finally using the nickname she'd been wanting to use for a while.
"Sebs? What did you just call me?" Sebastian gaped incredulously at her, making it clear that he was joking. "It's 'Bahstin', I'll have you know."
Devon laughed lightly, grinning over at him as she pulled her legs up underneath herself. "Okay, okay! If you would rather I use the name a two-year-old girl gave you, I'll use that."
"Well, I think it's a fantastic name," he replied with a hilarious air of snobbishness.
"Mmhm… All right, 'Bahstin,'" Devon hummed, her eyes glittering teasingly as she put air quotes around "Bahstin."
"'Kay, I need a nickname for you now." Sebastian crossed his arms beneath the blanket, biting his lip in thought. "Dev? Evo? Vonnie?"
Devon crinkled her nose at the last two. "Not Evo or Vonnie, please. I like Dev, though," she added with a shrug.
"Dev is nice.." A devilish grin formed on his face. "But Vonnie is wayyy better."
Devon stuck her tongue out at him childishly, setting her mug down so she could cross her arms. "How rude…"
"Hey, you've said worse to me," he protested, burrowing deeper into his nest of blankets.
(when are her parents coming?)
(Ugh… Now, I guess. Lol. I don't like playing parents, so I was stalling…)
"What? Name one thing," Devon demanded, giving him an incredulous look.
A knock sounded on her front door, causing her to sigh and glance over. She really didn't want to deal with her parents right then… But they had Layla, so that was better.
(lol np
do you want to skip to after the dinner then? if you don't want to rp parents?)
(If you don't mind, that would be great. :P Though I do kind of want to see how they react to Sebastian… But I think I'd rather skip.)
(yeah sure lol, to when?)
(Maybe Seb stays afterwards and helps her clean up?)
(yeah sure)
(should I start or do you want to?)
(Would you mind? I’m about to go watch something with my fam.)
(yeah sure sorry)
Sebastian stacked a few plates on top of eachother and carried them over to the sink, humming quietly.
(Don’t apologize. You did nothing wrong.)
“You don’t have to do this, you know,” Devon said as she scrubbed a plate down, glancing over her shoulder to look at him. “I could handle it.”
