I remember I made these really weird covers for my book based on a real picture I took while on vacation.
Of course I added effects to it, but it looks really wonky.

I remember the last time I tried to make a book cover… I was 8 years old, and I was basically writing MLP fan fiction whee Pinkie Pie was a superhero who fought monsters with Batman and Link and all sorts of other characters that had nothing to do with her. When time came that a book cover had to be created, I grabbed my computer mouse and MS paint… If you guys want me to send the horrifying results, I might still be able to find them on my old computer.

True. I prefer Acrylics and Watercolors, and have a folk art sort of style.

And that's it. I never went a step as to refine and color.
It always looks bad that way….

Same here… I also want to try illustrating a children’s book, but then I’d also have to write the story

My oldest sibling said I'd probably be good with children's books because I can both write and illustrate….
Maybe.
But not all illustrations have to be pitch perfect (however that's what I think all the time)… Style I think is what matters…
