“Listen.” said the girl, “we should go. Unless you want to help us, there’s no reason for us to stay here.” She grabbed Evan’s hand and started to get up.
“Listen.” said the girl, “we should go. Unless you want to help us, there’s no reason for us to stay here.” She grabbed Evan’s hand and started to get up.
"Why are you leaving?" Bree inquire, a little frightened now. She had always been relatively peaceful, except when someone hurt those she loved.
The girl sighed. “There is something we have to do. It’s our only chance of getting free.”
"Free from what?"
Evan spoke up, “We’re not supposed to talk about it.”
He gave the girl a glance and she was quiet.
Kash jumped, startled at the sound of a stranger yelling.
"What the hell?" He whispered, raising his eyebrows.
Ryker sat on top of the coffee shop's roof, yawning before taking a small bite of his pastry. Mortals in this town were rarely fun, however, they did make damn good pastries. Caden and Winter would like these, I wonder if I should bring some back for them.
Bree walked back over to her table.
Evan and the girl began to walk back outside again.
Bree immediately felt bad. She should have helped them. “Wait!” She said.
Evan kept walking but the girl broke off and he stayed by the door. “What?”
"I'll help you. What do you need?"
She looked torn, “What I really need is protection.”
