He turned the door, walking into his cabin-esque home. The warm atmosphere greeted the couple, as did the musky smell of rum hovering in the air. The living room was more or less a mixture of a dining room and a kitchen, with the table in the center by a fireplace, and an armchair by the messily built window.
"I built this place myself," Cruz boasted proudly.

Pots and pans hung just above the mantle, where he'd stacked chipped, overused plates. The fire was their only light. As he lit some candles to ward off shadows, she'd catch sight of a cat peering from under the armchair, with a black and white mottled face and piercing yellow eyes.

The cat crawled from its hiding spot—good Lord did it have long fur. Tail lifted, the creature bent its head down to sniff her foot.

"That's Pimiento," Cruz spoke. Pepper, the cat.

André let out a small sigh. "You know this is at your speed," he reminded gently.

"I don't want you to be uncomfortable," she murmured.

She gasped softly. "My sir…" She cupped his face. "You are so brave…"

He passed through an open door directly connected to the living room. It was common for smaller homes to be centralized around the fireplace. There was his poorly decorated bedroom, messy with clothes, a few books, and a german rifle.

"Hm," he chuckled, "Never thought of it like that.. as I say to most my visitors, it's… rugged and practical," he smirked. Cruz fished out a bottle of half-finished rum from under his desk, where a plethora of papers and military referrals rest. He popped off the cork with the meat of his thumb and pressed the lip of it to his own for a good swallow.

André closed his eyes. "As necessary.."

She leaned against him. "I am lucky to have a brave man like you, my sir," she continued, liking his response.

https://youtu.be/KFa7SZ7m9mU ugh good song. Yes. André will play this for Jane )

John set her down on the living room armchair, "There are, surely, men braver than me!" He smiled.

"I think not," she purred lovingly. "You are of you own caliber."

@KalamariCakes

"You make me sound awfully important, Jane," he erected hs posture, resting his calloused hands on his hips. He cast a sideways look through a window to the trees just outside, "It's cold,"

"But my sir, you are very important," she pressed, snuggling into the armchair.

@KalamariCakes

He brushed his palm across his chin, freshly shaven as of yesterday. "Wil you be okay when I leave for the field?" John looked back at her.

"I will be fine. I can handle myself," she said, her gaze settling on his face.

@KalamariCakes

The Lieutenant looked back at her. "What I'm afraid of is when you realize that loving a man whose heart is split between you and the pledge of war, that you will… simply eject yourself from the entire equation," he murmured.

Jane stood up and walked over to him. She straightened his coat (If he's wearing a coat…? XD) and cupped his cheek. "My sir… I could never find another man like you if I searched all of God's earth. I will never leave you."

Deleted user

"Neither is true love," she retorted, guiding their lips together for a moment. "But I'm not going to leave you. I shall say it as many times as necessary until you believe me, my sir."

April raised an eyebrow. “You’re still drinking? And your home is lovely, if a bit messy, but it has.. charm. I can tell it’s you who lives here.”
