(lol
want me to start, or can you?)
(I can now. Sorry, I was busy.)
Kasey held Barry’s hand as they walked through the woods, following a well-trodden path. “It’s so nice out. I’m glad we decided on a hike.”
"Same," he agreed, squeezing her hand and craning his head to admire the wildlife.
Kasey scanned the area and saw a glimmer coming from down the path. As they neared it, she realized that it was a small lake, beautifully surrounded by the trees.
"Hey, what if we go to that lake?" she suggested, pointing it out to Barry. "We could go swimming."
He grinned immediately, peering through the trees. “Yes please. But didn’t we leave our swimming stuff back at our tent?”
“Oh… Right. I mean, we could go back for it, I guess,” Kasey suggested with a shrug, chewing on her lip in thought. “Or… We could just, uh, go in our underwear…”
Barry’s face went red, his mouth falling open. No sound came out for a few seconds, before he cleared his throat. “Uh, sure.”
“Cool… Cool,” Kasey said, her voice small. “Well, then… Let’s go, shall we?”
“Yeah, let’s, uh, go.” Barry pulled her between two trees and towards the shore of the lake, pausing when they’d arrived.
Kasey stopped beside him and looked out across the lake. There was no reason to be weird about this, right? They were dating, after all…
“So… Do you want to maybe go behind a tree, and we can take stuff off that way? Or should we just do it right here?” she asked, glancing over at him.
Barry didn't look at her for a second, too busy trying (and failing) to conceal his own blush. "It's up to you. I mean– it's not like our bodies would be much more covered in our swimsuits. Right?"
“Right. Sure. Um… Well, then, I guess we can just do it here,” Kasey said quietly, her own cheeks blazing in a red blush.
She chewed on her lip and turned away from him slightly. Pulling in the hem of her shirt, she tugged it off. Underneath, her bra was just a simple light pink with a tiny white bow in the middle part.
Barry tore his eyes away from her, mentally chastising himself for staring. No, you idiot, you're going to make her uncomfortable. Play it cool. He slipped his own shirt over his head, exposing defined muscles covered with inked artworks, at least a dozen tattoos, all hidden beneath clothing until now. Hesitating for a moment, he removed his pants too, leaving him in nothing but boxers.
Kasey took a deep breath before she slipped her pants off. Picking her clothes up, she piled them near a tree.
A quick glance at Barry showed that he was done, and she chewed on her lip as she looked away again. She ran a hand through her hair, shaking it out, and then hugged herself. The tattoo on her hip was nearly the same color as her face, giving away — not that it wasn’t obvious — that she was incredibly flustered.
This was fine. There was nothing wrong with this. They were just swimming. Right. Of course.
But, gosh, did he look good… The image of his bare chest would forever be burned in her memory.
(Kasey XD)
Barry glanced up to meet her eyes, and his face was immediately flooded with a vibrant shade of crimson. Keep your eyes on her face, he told himself sternly, bringing up a hand to ruffle his hair.
"We're so awkward right now," Kasey breathed with an equally awkward laugh as she tentatively took a step closer to both him and the water.
"Sorry," Barry mumbled, clearly embarrassed and flustered. "Uh– we should–" He gestured vaguely towards the water, swallowing.
Kasey looked in the direction he gestured and nodded slowly in response. "Right. Yeah, of course… Um… Race you?"
A grin, though shy, broke out on Barry's face. "Oh, you're on. Three, two…"
"One!" Kasey exclaimed, grinning as she took off toward the water. Honestly, she's be surprised if she won. Barry was taller than her, which meant longer legs, which meant longer strides, which meant he could win easier.
Barry, caught by surprise, was late to start, and jumped into the water a split second after Kasey, landing with a huge splash.
Kasey turned around to face him, laughing. "I won! I totally didn't think I would win!"
Barry shoved a her– bare– shoulder, wiping the water from his eyes. He pouted theatrically. "That wasn't fair! You had a head start!"
"It was, too, fair! Your legs are longer than mine," Kasey reminded him, ignoring the sparks that went up her arm at his touch.
"That's why it's unfair that you won," he joked, something stirring in his chest. "Because I should have."
"Sorry, babe, but you lost," Kasey chuckled, purposely keeping her eyes on his face.
If she was being honest with herself, she totally wanted to just reach over and run her hand across his chest. Just feel his muscles under all those tattoos… Not all girls found tattoos attractive, but she liked them on Barry. They looked nice.
Barry stuck his tongue at her, enjoying the tingling sensation as his tattoos shifted over his skin. “Just— I want to- I just wanted to say that, uh, my boundaries are wherever yours are right now. I just don’t want to make you uncomfortable.”
Kasey blinked, her mouth forming a small 'o' at his statement. "Okay… Well, thank you, Barry. Um. I guess… Uh, I guess I wouldn't really know what to say about my boundaries right now, honestly," she admitted with a small chuckle, glancing away and chewing on her lip. "I mean, I guess they're the same as they always are, just… Be careful with where you place your hands…?"
“Oh— I’d never— you know, I, uh, don’t want that. I just meant—“ Barry gave up, shook his head. “You know what, I’m going to stop being awkward now and splash you with some water. You’ve got three seconds to get away.”
