“Seriously? Are we still on that?” Kasey sighed as she laid down on the blanket, tossing the other blanket herself.
“Seriously? Are we still on that?” Kasey sighed as she laid down on the blanket, tossing the other blanket herself.
"Yup. I'll never forget it." Barry lay down next to her, turning his head to tuck his nose beneath the crook of her neck.
Kasey shook her head with an amused smile, turning to kiss his forehead. “You know, if you’re facing me, you can’t look at the stars.”
"You're the star of the show anyways.." he muttered, grinning goofily. "I'm being so cheesy, aren't I?"
Kasey blushed, rolling her eyes. “Yeah, kinda… But it’s kinda cute.”
"Well, you're cute, so you deserve it," he replied, cheeks pink.
“Oh, stop…” Kasey groaned, her cheeks burning. “You’re ridiculous.”
"But you still love me, hm?" Barry plonked a kiss on her nose.
Kasey smiled a bit and returned the kiss with one on his lips. “Of course. I’ll always love you, Barry,” she promised softly.
"Me too, Kase.." Barry scrunched his nose up affectionately. "Let's stargaze now, hm?"
“Yes, let’s,” Kasey agreed with a soft grin, resting her head on his chest and looking up at the sky.
And it was beautiful; a huge, majestic expanse of the deepest blue littered with silver lights, as if someone had spilt a bucket of stars across the universe. Without the light pollution of the city, it was breath-taking, awe inspiring, gorgeous. Barry hadn't realized how much he'd missed the stars until now.
Kasey stared up at the sky, completely enthralled by its beauty. It had been so long since she had been able to appreciate the night sky like this, and she was very thankful that she was able to do this with her boyfriend that she loved so much.
A quick flash across the sky pulled a gasp from her lips, and she tapped on Barry to get his attention. "Did you see it? The shooting star?" she whispered. "Make a wish, babe."
Barry squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, lips moving inaudibly. "Wished."
Kasey's wish had dashed through her mind as soon as she'd seen it. "I love the stars," she sighed happily, snuggling closer to him.
"I love you… and the stars, of course," he murmured back, tucking her up against his side. "And I love being happy. Before I met you, I'd forgotten what happiness was."
Kasey's eyes softened, and she turned her attention to Barry. Her gaze flickered over his face, taking in his expression in the dim light from the moon and the stars.
"I love you, too… I'm glad I could help you remember what happiness feels like," she whispered, nuzzling his cheek gently. "You reminded me what it felt like to be safe… I was always afraid before I met you, and now I know that you're always here for me."
Barry rolled over onto his side, tugging her closer to his chest. "I'm so glad," he whispered, "That I mean that much to you."
Kasey smiled at him for a moment before cupping his cheek in her hand and gently pulling his face closer for a kiss. "I love you so much…"
(G’morning!)
Barry kissed her softly, pulling away with a sleepy smile. “Love you too.”
(Good afternoon. Lol. Sorry, I got my phone taken away… Again… sigh)
Kasey sighed happily and turned to look back up at the stars. "Gosh, I missed this," she said softly, curling closer to Barry for warmth.
(oof it's fine
how are you?)
"Same here.." he murmured in response, wrapping his arms around her. "You don't get this in the city.."
(I'm fine, I guess. Tired. Ready to move out and then okay with living here. Life as an almost-adult is strange…)
"No, you definitely do not…" Kasey whispered. She grinned at something she saw and pointed to it in the sky. "Can you see the Milky Way? It's that stretch of stars right there."
(Aw sorry, Autumn)
"Yeah," he replied softly. "And look– that's the Big Dipper. I think."
(Eh, it's fine. Not like I can really leave, anyway.
But how're you?)
Kasey chuckled a bit. "Mmhm… Oh, and that's the Little Dipper," she said, pointing it out.
(I'm ish, but also happy because someone from 'Roleplay, anyone?' came back yesterday and I now have a one-on-one with them)
"Oops." He chuckled at his mistake. "Sorry."
(Oh, yeah, I saw that. I used to stalk that RP. Lol. That's cool!
Also… Mistake? Kasey was agreeing with him that it was the Big Dipper…)
(oh sorry I thought she was saying that it was the Little Dipper not the Big Dipper)
"Yeah… where's Orion?" he asked, peering up.
(Lol. It's fine.)
Kasey hummed and looked for the telltale line of three stars that made up his belt. She found them and showed Barry. "Right there. See the stars that make up his belt?"
“No..” Barry frowned, trying to concentrate. “Wait— found it!”
