M frowned. He didn’t really keep a close eye on his clock. He didn’t even have one in his office.
“Maybe… three o’ clock?”

Alison nodded slowly. “Then you are going straight to bed when we get home. Well… After you change out of that shirt. How’d you manage that, anyway?”

M felt a rush of gratitude for her press into his heart. She was too kind for him, really.
“I have no idea,” M admitted. “Probably a leaky pen.”

“Makes sense,” Alison mused, nodding again. “That would also explain why you needed a new pen, as well.”

M nodded. “I need new pens every other week. They don’t make them the way they did all those years ago,” M privately reminisced, sighing.

“Maybe you should just buy a crate of them, hun,” Alison teased him, chuckling lightly. “Then you wouldn’t run out as quickly.”

M frowned. “But they’re Almasian (kinda like the British in this world). They’re that rare and special, too.”

Alison hummed a bit, looking thoughtful. “Well… What if you just ordered a few at a time, then? Or could you send them the ones that break and see if they’ll fix them?”

M nodded thoughtfully. “I’ll try that. Thanks.” He smiled warmly at her.

Alison grinned up at him and leaned against him again. “You’re welcome. Let me know if it works, all right?”

M shook his hair out and smiled down at her. “I will. I should start calling you every day. Just in case we can’t see each other.”

“That’s a great idea,” Alison agreed, her eyes lighting up happily. “You should definitely do that.”

“I might forget, though, so you’ll have to call me if I do.” He laughed softly, turning right.

“I’ll do that. Definitely. Should we set aside a specific time to call each other?” Alison suggested, smiling up at him.

Alison nodded, looking thoughtful. “One-thirty sounds perfect! Maybe you should write yourself a note so you don’t forget,” she teased him with a smile. “And get a watch…?”

M pulled out a pocket watch from his breast pocket. “I do have a watch. I do not have a clock, but I have a watch.” He wiggled it so it sparkled in the sun before plopping it back down.
