"There is always time, sister."

Rita shook her head, but that sent ripples of pain down her body. She gritted her teeth and hissed.

Amelia kept working on Rita's wound. She reached one hand over and hovered it above Rita's head and tried to ease her pain.

Rita knew it was hopeless. "Ame… stop…"

"Rita, stop arguing. I know what I'm doing. You don't know it, but I made a vow to mum and dad on their deathbed that I would always protect you."

Rita was breathing heavily. "Really?"

"What did you expect? That I would leave you to die? You're my only family left, Rita."

Rita mustered up a painful-looking smile. She winced and reached up to touch her sister's face. "I don't know… what I… would do… without you… Ame."

"I know what you'd do," Amelia said.

"What?" Rita gasped as a quick wave of pain exploded from her side. She panted.

"You'd miss your best friend," Amelia replied. She saw Rita in pain sent waves of pain reducer through her body.

"Yeah, I would," she breathed, her body relaxing thanks to the reducer.

Amelia kept working. She knew that she couldn't heal Rita, but she could do a little to help.

Rita could feel her body getting heavy. "Ame…"

"You need to stay with me, Rita. OK? Stay with me."

"Ame… it… hurts…" Her breathing was thick and heavy.

"I know it hurts. I can't stop that from happening."

Rita squeezed her eyes shut and gritted her teeth.

Even though it was hurting, Amelia's magic was working on Rita.

Rita felt only pain. She didn’t comprehend that her sister’s magic was at all working. She accidentally let a painful moan slip past her lips.

Amelia gave a short gasp of pain as Rita's electric core zapped her.

Rita’s eyes burst open. “Am I hurting you?” she whispered.
(I watched Age of Ultron today… 😭)

"No, no," Amelia replied, gritting her teeth. She had started to get to Rita's electrical core, the core that powered her super speed and strength.

"I am," Rita replied, seeing her sister's face. "Ame, stop," she croaked.

Amelia's eyes started to well with tears. "I can't leave you," She cried.

“You have to… I don’t want… to hurt you…” Rita spoke in short bursts.

"Please don't make me leave you," Amelia sobbed. "You're all I have left."

Rita reached up toward her sisters face. "That's not… true…" she breathed. "You have… Peter… Please… Ame…"

"That's not the same and you know it."
