she caught him before he hit the ground and brought him further in the cave before going out of the cave and into the storm through the woods seeing the shadow appear again, she chased after the shadow trying to void to it and seeing it appear again farther away.
she huffed frustrated. "just stay still dang you." she muttered under her breath not expecting a response.
"you said the same thing when we were sparing." a voice spoke out, shocking kali. they seemed to have a teasing tone. she finally got to the shadow only it wasn't a shadow anymore.
it was a girl.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Kali went stone-faced staring down the female.
the female giggled, "oh that's right they screwed with your brain didn't they." the female walked over to Kali and booped her.
Kali swatted her hand away. "Don't touch me."
She giggled and gave kali head pats, "Oh darling the more you push me away the more i want to poke you and to touch you."
"Dont call me Darling, Darling" she growled at the female who was taller than her swatting her hand away again.
the female laughed, "You really don't remember me! they must have really scrambled you up huh? nothing in that brain of yours is there?" she knocked on Kali's head, but moving back before kali could swat her away. She reached for something in her pocket, a book. black as kali's own darkness.
"No. where did you get that?" she growled.
"Oh so you do recognize this, good. i was worried they hadnt left anything left for me to screw over." she wore an amused but maliceful expression.

He inhaled sharply as a fist met his skull in a dizzying burst of pain. He felt his body sink into the girl’s arms and being dragged into the cave. Alors le chat noir frappe la panthère noire, hein? Allez au diable… was his last thought before going completely unconscious.

Andrea… was that it?
The creature opened her eyes. Then closed them again, yawning. She blinked, seeing the young male lying a few feet away from her and tilting her head in faint confusion. She stood, stretched, and walked over to him. After pawing him and looking him over, she found a knot of skin growing on his head. She emitted a low whine. Where was the familiar female? Had she done this and left?
She padded to the entrance, looking out into the rain. It was thinning out now, still moving south. She called out, a rising, whooping note. The female had to come back. One couldn’t stay out in these woods alone. There was danger. She knew of another beast, one far more deadly than she…

She voided over to her and tried to grab the book from her hands but the girls hand turned into her shadow and so did the book and she wasn't able to grab it, she moved away from Kali and opened the book.
"Lets see how long it will take shall we?" she smirked, noticing Kali failing to hide her fearful expression.
She took a step forward, "Dont do it." she urged the girl.
"Lets see…if you can remember my name I'll stop." she turned the page and began reading from it.
"Желание" She smirked.
"Stop." she spoke, trying desperately to remember the girls name.
"Семнадцать"
She could feel the tugging of her brain, it was coming. Like someone was trying to pull the shutters over of her view and take complete control away from her.
"Ржавый" her grin widened.
"Stop!" she cried out, reaching her hands up to cover her ears knowing it to be futile.
"Рассвет" she moved closer to Kali.
"Stop it!" she screamed, trying to block it out.
"Печь" she stared down at her with malice and blood lust.
"STOP!!" she screamed again, louder this time. she punched at the girl only for the girl to disappear and reappear behind her.
"Добросердечный!" She yelled the word at Her.

She crossed her arms, a little put off. She knew Evan was being protective of her, but she wasn’t entirely sure why. She silently rolled her eyes, her mind going elsewhere.
“Guys, calm down. Trent, put your hat on. I’m going to-“
But a vibration in her pocket cut her off. She pulled out a small electronic orb and tapped it, her darker skinned arms still crossed. A holographic screen projected in front of her, showing Arabelle’s stern, glowing blue face.
“Storm, it’s almost curfew. Where are those boys who got arrested? I saw them go upstairs.“
“Curfew? Oh no- Um, two are here with me, one of them went to the infirmary.” (I thought infirmary was a better term)
“Okay. Please take them-“
“Yeah yeah, I got it. We’ll talk when we get down there?”
“Great idea. I’ll need to be up there for a while, though.”
“Yeah yeah, that’s fine. Sorry, I lost track of time.”
“Happens to me too, hon. Don’t worry about it.” She hung up, the holographic screen projecting back into the orb.
Curfew meant a few things. First, that people had to get off the streets and into their homes by a certain time at the end of the day, or else Extraterrestrial Forces will either kill them, or kidnap them and take them somewhere. A good chunk of those people are usually criminals, fugitives, or escaped laborers or experiments who don’t have anywhere to go. But for those who do, curfew also means that Extraterrestrial Forces come to inspect certain buildings or establishments to see if they are hiding them.
The sound of many footsteps and doors opening and closing drifted into the room. People were wisely retiring for the evening.
“Change of plans,” Noel turned to the boys, putting her orb in her pocket. “We’re going to the basement.”
She went and opened the door. Her heart sank when she didn’t see her brother nearby, but she could only hope he knew what was going on.
they listened to the two converse before responding.
"right."
they both followed after noel, Trent picked up Evans wheelchair bc he big boi and to save time that they might actually need.
"I'm sure he's fine noel." even spoke to noel, but he too was worried for alister.

Malachi was eventually roused by the creature’s calls. He cautiously sat up, staying still for a moment due to the initial dizziness. Then he stood, leaning against the cave wall. His head pounded, and the small of his back still ached. He cursed under his breath, then slowly made his way to the creature. She stopped calling and looked at him forlornly.
“Did you see where she went?” He rasped.
She shook her head.
After a few minutes of rain filling the silence, he sighed. “I’ll go after her.”
She made a whine of surprise, pawing at him in protest. He held out his hand to stop her, his expression stony. “I can’t sit here and do nothing. Either she’s going to get hurt, or I’m going to get hurt, whether at her hands, the shadow’s, or both. If I don’t see her, then I’ll come back.”
She moved her foreleg to her chest, like she was pointing to herself, then pointed to him.
“Come with me?”
She nodded.
He held his chin in thought. Then he brought it to his side, taking a deep breath. “Okay. I ride on you some of the way.”
She kneeled, and he mounted. He closed his eyes at first, not wanting to disorientate himself and make his head injury worse. He felt cool rain on his skin and her soft fur beneath him. The creature moved quickly, but thankfully didn’t bounce him around too much. After several minutes, she slowed, and he opened his eyes.
Birch trees rose on either side of them, but no small girl was to be seen. He looked at the creature, wondering why she slowed down. That’s when he heard the faint shouts in the distance. He could make out Arden’s familiar voice, and a second, lower one that was not. He debated with himself for a few moments, then dismounted.
“I’ll see what’s going on. You hide in the shadows and be our plan B. How’s that, mademoiselle?”
She stared at him, tilting her head in worry, then nodded. They separated, and Malachi stood still for a moment, trying to calm the pain and taking deep breathes. Then he edged closer to the shouts.

"I said stop!" she tackled the girl to the ground earning a scream from the girl as they crashed to the ground, She reached for the book only for the girl to disappear again into shadows once more.
"No! You took everything from me!" She hissed from the shadows. Kali quickly got up off the ground looking around.
"I don't even know you!" She yelled out, the girl hit kali in the back of her head making her stumble forward a curse word escaping her lips.
"You will." She appears before looking down at the book. "Возвращение на Родину."
"Look im, im sorry what happened to you i didnt mean whatever it was that happened to you just please dont do this."
She frowned at her. "I dont believe you, your only apologizing just because your everything is on the line."
"……Okay fine, but please, dont do this to me."
She tched. "Well at least you admitted it."
SHe looked into the trees and noticed malachi, "but its not enough."
"Один"
"NO!" She lunged at the girl.
"Товарный вагон." she shut the book, Kali stopped mid lung.

Malachi wondered if his punch to the skull was making him hallucinate. What the heck was Arden thinking? At least it wasn’t anything worse. Although, the strange girl seemed to be another puppet of the aliens. That was the most likely explanation.
He stepped closer to the clearing where they were fighting, and a snap cut the air. Merde. The strange girl noticed him.
But she didn’t call attention to him. Why was she saying those strange words? And why was Arden so upset? And are they really fighting over a… a book?
He retreated a few steps, out of sight.

Kali stood up, only her face was emotionless and cold.
"солдат?" The shadow girl asked kali.
she replied, her tone a monotone voice. "готов подчиниться"
a grin spread across the shadow girl, only she didnt say mission report december yada yada.
she turned her head towards Malachi used to be, searching for him.
"А вы хотите, чтобы я нашел его один.?" she asked, noticing the turn of shadows girls head.
she nodded, "тогда я хочу, чтобы ты сделал ему больно"
She nodded, before turning to where malachi just was and walking that way.
The girl looked at the book, before setting it down seemingly in the bushes, before turning into a shadow and leaving.
Kali got closer to where malachi was before disapearing and reappearing behind him delivering a strike to his head,
