"Yeah," He groaned, flipping over again so he was facing the sky as he finally focused on the woman above him, "Am I dead?" Alex felt dead, in the sense that he had literally just drowned and couldn't think straight, though maybe that was what death felt like. He didn't even attempt to sit up either, just let his eyes close again as he coughed for the millionth time.
"Only for a few minutes, hun." She said gently. "You're lucky. Humans are fragile, they usually don't come back. A bit weird, isn't it?" I'm gonna get a soul, I'm gonna get a soul~
Alex sighed, blinking a few times to clear the stinging water out of his eyes as he eventually sat up, "Who are you?" Even in his hazy state he recognised her wording and asked a moment after, "You said humans, as if you aren't one." He couldn't stop the fit of coughs that came over him after he talked, still spitting up remenats of the sea that he had swallowed.
"Maybe I'm not." She said, smiling softly. "You're lucky you're alive." Albellona let out a soft hum. "You'd think you'd have sold your soul to live…"
Hey, gently leading them to that conclusion worked sometimes. It never had to be fair.
(Smart lol)
Now was time for Gabriel to intervine. The demon sure knew what she was doing. And she was good at it too.
The air around them starten to thicken and a warm fog swarmed around them.
"I could smite you right now….but ill think that would have to wait" he says jumping down from the high rock, his golden brown wings unfolding only a little as he did- giving him an ever so graceful landing.
His eyes darted to the prophet, noticing he was still bleeding out. He wasnt going to die, but this would ease the pain for him.
Getting closer to the demon and the human, he kneltndown in the sand and pressed his hand to the mans chest and his eyes brightened to a soft warm glow. The wounds dissapeared within seconds and so did the glow.
"Hello, im terribly sorry fir not introducing myself. Im Gabriel. Are you alright?" He asked.
His voice was soft and deep, but threatening to anyone who deserved to feel his wrath.
He shot a piercing glare towards the demon before calmly looking back at him.
(Quick question, can Alex see Gabriel's wings? I'll change my response if he cant)
"What are you-," Alex started, cut off as a tall male with what looked like wings landed beside him. Now he was sure he wasn't alive anymore. He staye silent, eyes now wide in obvious shock, wonder and confusion, especially as the attractive man knelt beside him. All he did was press a hand to his chest and in an instant the pain from his wounds dissappeared. After a quick once over, he noted his wounds in general were gone.
"What are you?" He asked, blinking and shaking his head slightly, "I'm fine..though I'm very sure this isn't real. I must have hit my head…" Gabriel's voice, as he introduced himself, was soothing to Alex, but he tried not to dwell on that. Especially seeing as this whole thing wasn't real. It couldn't be.
(Yeah he can lol. He can choose who sees his wings and who doesn’t)
Gabriel had his soft expression glued to his face as if it was resting face.
“I’m Gabriel. Before i tell you anything else, lets get you warmed up” he says softly, helping him stand with a soft hand (yooo I’m rhyming)
(Also sorry its short this time)
Alex frowned, then pointed slowly at the woman that had initially been with him, "Do you know her?" He was definitely asking too many questions for the situation he was in, but the last thing he wanted to do was go with someone he didn't know, no matter if this was just a dream or not. He took Gabriel's hand and stood, coughing again but seeming much less dead than he was a few minutes prior.
(Im gonna wait for Toxic to post real quick)
((Sorry! I had my SAT and then had to run some errands with mom!))
Abellona glared sharply at Gabriel, mismatched eyes cold. "You." She hissed, disdain clear in her once gentle voice. "I had the situation perfectly under control here, you feathery bag of dicks! Go back to your boss!"
(Oh golly, thats fine!! ♡)
"There that attitude is… how have you been Abellona?" Gabriel asks kindly, the warm fog still drifting around the three beings
"Oh, fuck off!" She said angrily. "I had him, fair and square. I was here first." Also, She thought, with a small shudder. I don't want to go back in that pit… "I'm here to do my job!"
"I'm definitely dreaming," Alex mumured as he listened to the two of them fight. They seemed to know each other, and when Gabriel called the woman by name, he knew they had history together. While Abellona and Gabriel talked, Alex took a small step away, debating making a run for it.
Gabriel sighed, closing his eyes for a second "you know im not one for very flashy deaths but im not afraid to strike you down here and now. Now you Abellona very well know that. Leave the prophet be and we'll be on our way. While you can wither in hell with the other demons" he says coldly.
He could simply take the human and fly away, but his mental state wasnt ready for that. Aa far as he knew, he had just died. Which technically he did
"Look, I'm flattered you think I'm high enough on the food chain to fall for your prophet shit, but I'm already here." She said, mismatched eyes sharpening into a piercing glare. "Now, fuck off, go heal some kid's broken leg or whatever the fuck it is you do." She grabbed Alex's arm, tugging him toward her. "I have a fucking job to do."
Alex yelped as he was yanked towards Abellona, eyes wide with both confusion and fear. He wasn't strong, but that didn't stop him from trying to pry her hand off his arm. "Look, I think this is a misunderstanding," He said, glancing between the two others, still trying to break free, "You have the wrong person. I'm not this 'prophet' you're looking for."
"Language" he sighs and shook his head, waving his hand and pushing the demon backwards and pulling Alex towards him, grabbing his arm with a firm grip. Though sure not to hurt him. He wanted to gain his trust.
He turned to him with cqlm eyes "i need to take you somewhere safe. Or else you will be tortured and killed. Now do you want to be kept safe or demon food" he asked, spreading his wings getting ready to leave
Albellona let out a small surprised sound, wincing a bit when she hit the ground. She really hated she could still feel pain. She wasn't even fucking human anymore, for Satan's sake! "Let him go, you mother fucking-!"
"I would want to go home," He said quietly, glancing between the two and now trying to pry Gabriel's hand off his arm, "I told you, you have the wrong person." Alex was now thoroughly freaked out from this, and if it wasn't clear from how pale he was and how wide his eyes were, he was extremely close to fainting.
He glared at the demon, ignoring the words slithering out of her mouth.
"I can take you home if youd like" he says looking down to Alex, calmly letting go of him
Albellona jumped to her feet. "I can get you home faster." She said, glaring at Gabriel as she held a hand out.
Alex shook his head, glancing between the two of them and rubbing his arm, "I..uh…I'll just bring myself home. You two seem to be in the middle of something. I don't want to interrupt." If he was forced to make a choice, the winged male would be his pick, but he really didn't want to test just how real his mind was making these beings seem.
"At least get some help getting back out of here, hun." She said gently. Hey, she was a demon, not a total asshole. "And, honestly, my way is faster and a little less terrifying."
"I..just point me towards the nearest road..I'll get home," He said, shaking his head once more. Alex still seemed nervous, almost in shock, but he was much less pale now. At least it seemed he wouldn't pass out anytime soon.
Gabriel sighed and put a hand on his shoulder. "With your luck, youll die on your way home Alex" he says, knowing his name without introductions of course.
He put to soft fingers to his forehead, his and Alex's eyes glowed. It seemed as nothing had changed.
"There. If youre in any danger just call my name and ill be there" he says calmly. He looked up to the highway and the railing was fixed and his car was on, and parked. The lights shining down on the three. "Have a safe trip" he says kindly before turning to the demon with a dangerous glare
"Now ill deal with you" he says sliding down a silver a silver blade from his sleeve, ready to fight
Albellona rolled her eyes, carefully taking out the dagger she had strapped to her thigh. "Fine, you over dramatic, winged bag of dicks." She hissed, pushing her hair back from her face. "Gimme you're beast fuckin' shot."
Alex stood still as Gabriel did his thing, only nodding after it was done and looking back up at his car above them. "Thank you," He said gently, glancing up the rock cliff between his car and him before setting to work trying to climb it. The last thing he wanted to do was fall, but he also didn't want to ask either of the two below him for help.
He sighed. Gabriel knew either one of them could simply leave. Dissapear into thin air as if nothing ever happened.
Did this demon have so much pride in her that she would face an angel head on?
"As you wish" he says darting towards her with his dagger in hand
Albellona dodged, rolling a bit before smoothly coming up, going immediately to stab him in the back.
What, you thought she'd give him the courtesy of stabbing him in the front?
