Her blush darkened. ”Yeah. All the adults at the time called me a prodigy. My parents started planning to send me to Ivy League schools that we couldn't afford. They even mentioned MIT a couple of times.” she sighed before smirking. ”I know I would. Honestly, I could probably take out the whole government in a week from my computer.” Jade chuckled looking at him. ”You would make a good hero yourself. I might actually let myself lose to you a couple times.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Huh." He said, nodding. He chuckled. "Oh, I see. Let yourself lose? I could beat you if I really tried." He made a face at her. "But yeah, you probably could take down the government pretty easily."

Jade raised a brow, teasingly. ”You haven't so far, so I would have to see that.” she smiled. ”I could but I decided to be a hero and that means no interference with controlling infrastructures. I actually had to make everyone believe that my intelligence plateaued in Middle School when I made that choice.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Killian grinned. "I could beat you right now." He replied teasingly. "You're in my house, defenseless with your guard down." He nodded. "Ah. I'm sure it wasn't that hard." His voice was still teasing.

Jade chuckled. ”I thought you said it would be bad manners to fight in your house. And just because my guard is lowered doesn't mean I’m completely defenseless.” she smirked. ”Yeah it wasn't that hard to make everyone think I was finally ”normal”.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

"It would be. But whoever said I had good manners, darling?" Killian asked with a smirk. "And I don't see why you pretended. You could have easily crushed everyone with that brain of yours."

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Jade smirked but didn't answer his question, since it was very obvious to her. ”I had to pretend for identity’s sake. I’m sure I could have but if I wanted to keep my civilian life out of the hero business… Well, it would be too easy for people to realize the girl who would have had 10 PhDs at high school age was the new high-tech super hero.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Killian nodded. "Well, even I can't go back and change the past. There are some things even magic can't do." He told her with a shrug. "No matter how much we wish it." Something dark flickered in his eyes for a moment, then was gone.

Jade smiled softly understanding that there was something painful from his past that still haunted him. He did mention his father was abusive but was there something more? No. Stop that. It's not my business anyway. She sighed, ”Time travel is a tricky business and not one to dabble in lightly. It's unsafe and volatile. There are small things that could straighten themselves out but… Paradoxes are a real thing.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

He raised an eyebrow. "Mm. How do you know that paradoxes are even a thing? Maybe they self correct, no matter what." He shrugged a little. "I've done some research about this in my spare time."

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

”As have I. And most of my research shows that, yes, the smaller the effect of the paradox the more likely it is to self correct. However, if you were to go back in time and create one with large enough consequences…” Jade shrugged, ”then you're practically creating a new reality.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Killian nodded. "Hmm. You're probably right." He replied slowly, then shrugged. "Not that that matters much, I guess. Neither of us will be time traveling anytime soon."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Killian nodded. "Mhm." He sighed softly, raking his hand through his hair. "Time travel would be fucking cool, though." He added with a grin. "I mean, think about it. You could have three breakfasts in one day!" Sometimes it was a little questionable about how and why he was a villain, since he acted like a little kid on occasion.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Jade laughed at the childish response. ”You don't need time travel for that. Just eat a breakfast for each meal.” she suggested. ”Personally, I would like to meet a few artists. Van Gogh, Da Vinci, Michelangelo…”

@ElderGod-Icefire

He nodded. "Ooh, that would be cool too." He agreed. "Or famous inventors! Like…well, Da Vinci, or Edison, or Tesla, and people like that." He chuckled softly.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

”Oh, yes!” Jade nodded enthusiastically. ”Especially Tesla. I feel he’s always overshadowed. The only thing he seems to be known for is the coils. Honestly, I do have a few theories on how to make time travel work… I am just having trouble with making the vessel. Do I make it small enough for only one person or do I make an enclosed vehicle?” she asked, her eyes sparkling in excitement.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Killian hummed softly in thought. "That's true. If it was enclosed it might keep you safer, but it'll be less portable." He replied slowly. "Plusnit would be difficult to hide."

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

”Exactly. But if I make it something small and personal, like a watch, then it could be easily misplaced or stolen. Plus it couldn't provide protection… Though depending on what you need protection from I could make a force field and a hologram for disguise…” Jade spouted off ideas.
