Works for me lol
Nich has a tendency to get into trouble so I'm happy to like
Get him caught in a trap or something if Ember is typically in the forest
Yeah that could work out lol
Alright! Do you want me to start with that then?
If you'd like to! I'm a little busy rn but I should be able to reply
Alright! I'll get that up asap ^^
Nich yawned as he strolled through the woods, something he did pretty frequently. He usually kept to the designated walking paths; they were pretty enough as is, after all, but he decided to stray off of them today. He hummed softly to himself, his hands casually stuck into his pockets, and looked around, more focused on the trees and the sky than he was on the ground in front of him.
Suddenly, he found himself being yanked upwards by one leg, his head slamming into the ground as he was pulled into the air. Dazed and disoriented, it took him a minute to regain his wits and to discover that he was hung upside down from a tree. Seemingly, he'd stepped in some sort of rope trap. His leg didn't really hurt considering it was artificial, but his head definitely did. He groaned softly and shook his head, looking around for some way to escape.
Ember walking around the forest as she usually did minding her own business when she smelt something peculiar she followed the sent and within a few minutes she was about five feet from a strange man hanging from a tree "umm…. Hello? What in oblivion are you doing up there? "
"Ah?" Nich tried to maneuver in a way that he could see the stranger. "Oh, got stuck. Stupid trap…" He mumbled. He reached up and disengaged his prosthetic, which sent him falling to the ground onto his back. "Oh, god… ow. Who are you…?" He asked weakly, looking up at Ember with his prosthetic leg still dangling above him from the trap.
Ember couldn't help it laugh a little bit as she walked a little closer to the other "well I could ask you the same thing your in my territory, are you okay you look like your struggling " she smirked a little until her fell from the tree and she walked over to the rope and untied it grabbing ahold of the prosthetic "here I believe this is yours? "
"Your territory? I guess you live here?" Nich asked, glancing around the forest as though looking for somewhere that a person could reasonably live. He looked back up when Ember fetched his prosthetic for him and accepted it, engaging it to the remainder of his leg again so that he could get up off of the ground. "Thanks. I'm Nich." He held out his hand as an offer to shake Ember's. "I don't live here."
Ember smirked "yes I live here . " she watched him re attach his leg and stared at his hand a moment before clenching a fist "I can tell your not from here you don't have to tell me, and I don't do that sorry" she circled him eyeing him up and down "what exactly are you doing here. "
"Right… well, I was just passing through. I like walking in the forest. Usually I keep to the paths, but I wanted a bit of a change in scenery today." Nich sighed and brought his hand to the back of his hand, grimacing at how much it hurt. When he pulled his hand away, he found that it was red with blood. He must have hit his head on the ground harder than he thought. He felt a bit dizzy and sick, so he closed his eyes, trying to get his headache to ebb away to no avail.
Ember shook her head and crossed her arms "well that can be dangerous you know going into areas you know nothing about. "
Nich shrugged and put his hand back on the back of his head. "Mmnh… yeah, guess so. I gotta sit down…" He mumbled, clumsily slumping to the ground looking pale. "What're the traps for…?"
Ember chuckled a little "you gonna be okay or do I need to worry about getting rid of a body? " she stood there quietly for a minute " there for hunters."
"No, no, m'not gonna die… might've concussed myself, though. Nngh…" Nich leaned against the tree he had just been strung up in. "I'm not a hunter, either. I'm the prey, if anything…"
"Good you have no idea how relieved I am. " she said without emotion " we're not exactly prey though are we? We're more like the predators, "
"Well, as far as humans going out of their way to try and kill us since we're not like them. We're not human, so killing us barely counts as murder." Nich sighed, closing his eyes.
"We're game nich its what they do they kill us because it makes them feel superior to our kind, that's why my pack sets traps out here to protect the pups and elders that can't go out and fight. "
Nich shrugged and ran his fingers through his hair. "It's stupid… we should be able to live normally." He mumbled, still looking a bit out of it. "I try my best to just go about my life, but they don't even like me being in the same room."
"It will never be that way the only way this ends is with blood being spilled, all humans are the same it will never change. "
"Yeah. Nothing we can do about it, then." Nich tried to pull himself to his feet, but he staggered and fell back to the ground. Guess I'll be staying here for a bit. He sighed softly and rested his head against the tree. "What are you doing out here?"
"Here come on I'll take you to my pack so you can get that taken care of, can you shift? "
"Mm? Yeah, sure…" Nich pushed himself up again, leaning against the tree to keep himself stable. "I'm probably fine… just bleeding or something, dunno…"
Ember sighed and began to walk at a slow pace deeper into the forest "alright come on it'd probably be best to follow me as a wolf so that don't attack you on the spot "
"A wolf? I can't turn into a wolf…" Nich mumbled in reply, doing his best to follow Ember without further injuring himself. He kept one hand on his head, seemingly to slow the bleeding.
Ember was quiet for a moment before turning to him "then stay behind me I don't want you to get more hurt that you already are. "
"I can turn into a fox? I think… I haven't done that in a while. I'm not a werewolf, though." Nich stumbled and narrowly avoided falling to the ground again. "Is that helpful? I can't remember if wolves hate foxes or not…"
Ember didn't talk for a few minutes she was thinking how all of this would play out in her head "um it… I'm not entirely sure how that would play out just um let me do the talking. " ember slowed her pace as to make sure he wouldn't fall on his face
