Abrose settled on the chair opposite the small table from Malachi and honestly could have stayed curled up there for eternity with how suddenly tired he felt. "The Jasur Villa?" Abrose tilted his head curiously, having heard of the place in the wecent months he had been there but never any details. Perhaps no wanted to spoil the surprise, or maybe no one had thought it worth telling. He chewed his lip in concentration, trying to conjure the image of the map he had been studying in the weeks leading up to the wedding. He nodded slowly as he refocused on Malachi. "Good, I'm sure we'll both need a nice long rest after all this." He chuckledlightly and nodded towards the doors that lead to the reception room. He could already hear people talking on the other side of the door. He tested his cheek in his hand, "tell me more about Jasur Villa. What made you choose it?"

@knightinadream group

Recling back into the chair, he sighed at the relief of pressure being lifted from his feet. Somehow he always would have tension on them anytime he is stressed; a trait which he had gotten from his Kate father. Relaxing his head against the back of the chair, he kept his eyes on Abrose. At his husband's repeating of the vacation home's name, he nodded, "Yes, the Jasur villa. It is on higher elevation from the beach below, and it is only half an hour from the village. You would like it."

He kept staring at Abrose, wondering if he was alright. The chuckle provided him some assurance in giving an answer. He wondered what his husband thinks of their marriage, of Malachi being his husband. Instead of asking those questions, he pushed them to back of his mind.

The Jasur villa. It was the same place where his parents went for their honeymoon. The place where they consummated and connected as the wonderful couple everyone remembers them as. It was a home away from home for his mother. When planning the wedding, he thought it would be more suitable to pick the one by the beach rather than the one by the mountains.

He shrugged. "Well it is right by the beach, and the conditions there are perfect this time of year. The view in the bedroom is gorgeous. I read one of my mother's journals and she said it was a wonderful place to connect with my father, so I thought it would do the same for us," He muttered the last few words. "It just seemed like a better choice than the Boros one by the mountains."

@Fenrir

Abrose brightened at the mention of a nearby beach. "I had assumed you'd pick elsewhere since you mentioned not having a liking for the beach." He admitted, glancing away shyly from Malachi's gaze.

He thought back to his own parent's honeymoon spot, visited each summer when they could. Abrose had loved the little cottage surrounded by Carniel's lush forests and fields of wildflowers. Abrose remember being with his father and siblings, running through the fields of flowers and play fighting with the king, always concluding in fits of laughter and giggling. Abrose's family still visited now though it was a more somber occasion than one of enjoyment. They had decided to bury the king at the cottage instead of the castle since it was his favorite place. They'd often visit the grave whenever they went to the house the weekend would be spent reminiscing of the late king and even talking to him as if he had never left the living world.

He breathed a small smile at the many memories he had of the cottage before looking back over at Malachi with a light blush on his cheeks when Malachi mentioned a single bedroom and connection. He nodded slowly and took a deep breath. He doubted much would happen, considering neither of them were comfortable enough to kiss on their wedding day. He did want to connect more with Malachi but if that meant going no farther than simply sharing a space together for a few days, and better getting to know one another as people first, then Abrose had absolutely no argument against that.

He gave a smile and nodded his head. "I'm fairly certain, your magesty, that I would have loved the mountains just as much as the beach, despite my voiced preferance for one before." He replied teasingly, standing and stretching before heading to the door. "Well, as much as I'd love nothing more than to stay here and rest, we have guests to attend to. Rest can be saved for after the party." He extended a hand towards Malachi and offered a soft smile.

@knightinadream group

Once again, he shrugged. Yes, he still does not like the beach, but sometimes being with others at the beach makes the moments there more enjoyable. "I was told that you might like it, so why not? Besides the evenings there are cooler and it's nice to go out and look at the stars."

Malachi has a terrible habit of saying things and not understanding the deeper meaning of them. Thankfully he has grown out of it for the better or worse, though he did not really make the connections of mentioning one bedroom. It will be nice. Hopefully Abrose will enjoy it.

Your Majesty……His brow quirked at the instant he heard Abrose say this. He sat up, turning to face him. His gaze fluttered up to Abrose and the hand he held out to him. A long exhausted sigh drew out from his lips.

Oddly for once, he does not want to attend anything. Even this party dedicated to their union. He does not want to see anybody. For it being so early in the day, he wishes to be in bed.

"You know, Abrose, when we are alone, you do not have to address me as 'Your Majesty'. We are married now, and you are my king consort. We are of the same union now, so you can call me by my name," He pointed out. Reluctantly, he stood up and took Abrose's hand.

(I don't know if you want to do this, but I was wondering if we could skip to it being night time after the party of when they're on their honeymoon. If you're cool with either or, or none.)

@Fenrir

(Of course, I never know what to do during wedding after parties XD)
“I know,” Abrose replied softly. He hadn’t meant to bring up the reminder that Malachi’s father was no longer here, definitely not with during their wedding, a time of celebration and momentary break from all the sadness. “Regardless, It’d be easier to get used to hearing it from someone close rather than be surprised when strangers address you as such. But if you’d rather not be called that for now, then I’ll call you Malachi.” Abrose gently squeezed Malachi’s hand, taking in a deep breath as they pulled open the door to the reception awaiting them inside.

Abrose tilted his head back and let the cool breeze of the sea wash over him. He dug his toes into the sand and toyed with the shells and sea glass he had collected over the past hour or so he had spent wandering the shoreside. He had barely taken a look around the villa, opting to change into something looser and lightweight before he had practically ran out the back terrace and onto the beach. Even when Abrose and his family went to the beach, he had never seen such blue waters or golden sands. The beach was beautiful, from what Abrose had glimpsed of the villa, it too was beautiful, local flowers and plants surrounded the home. He glanced back at the house, his heart giving an excited leap. He would be staying here for a week. With his new husband. He chewed his lip, maybe that leap was nervousness as well.

@knightinadream group

(Lol it's all good, I wasn't sure what to write too. Thanks!)

Malachi decided to go down to the beach. It would be a waste to be inside the villa on such a lovely day after all. He went in his white undershirt, plain red trousers, and black boots. As he got closer to the sand, he took off his boots and stockings. While doing so, his eyes caught a glimpse of Abrose from a distance.

Something had hit him in the chest as he dropped his boots. Not in a physical sense at least. He wasn't even sure what it was. There was some hint of excitement, but there was also other feelings that whirled around. He didn't know what to make of it, yet he kept on walking.

The sand felt warm underneath his feet. There was the usual discomfort of seashells poking the bottoms as he trudged through, but he did his best to not mind it. Once he was near Abrose, he stepped to the side so then he wouldn't be surprising his husband from behind. Husband, he still gets shivers over it. Good shivers.

Standing a feet or so next to Abrose, he gazed over at him momentarily before looking out onto the sea. The wind blew threw his hair, making his hair messy as usual. He sighed then asked, "Enjoying this so far?"

@Fenrir

Abrose turned his head and broke out into a smile when he saw Malachi beside him. "It's stunning. I can't even compare it to the beaches we used to visit in Carniel." He exclaimed, gaze going back to the clear blue waters. He slowly crouched down, knees sinking into the sand as he reached out and let the shore lap at his hand.
He pulled away and sat back on the sand, hands braced behind him. "I barely got a good look at the villa before I ran out here." He admitted with a laugh, glancing over his shoulder at Malachi before looking back at the home, studying it from his spot in the sand. A thoughtful smile crossed his features. "I can see why your parents were fond of this place. It's a beautiful, peaceful area to spend time together."
He tilted his head, remembering how his own parents spent as much time as they could at their little cottage when Abrose' father was still alive. He adored that place, had only good memories of the vacation home up until they had to put his father to rest and even that had seemed more lighthearted than it was supposed to.

@knightinadream group

Gazing out into the sea, his chest heaved with a heavy sigh. The wind blowing led him to blink a few times, even as he lowered his chin to look at Abrose. Doing his best, he tried to reciprocate the smile. "Nothing can be greater than the beaches of Carniel," He lightly grinned before gazing around again.

He laughed, recalling at how Abrose practically dashed down to the beach after they had arrived. It was a sight to see. Malachi has to stay at the villa for a bit longer to make sure that everything was in place then he changed so his other clothes wouldn't get dirty and have sand everywhere. Regardless he will somehow manage to get sand everywhere, but that is not his concern.

Running his hand through his hair, he decided to squat down besides Abrose. The water came up, feeling cold against his feet. He used his left hand to push some of Abrose's hair away from his face.

"Our place…" He said, "This is our place. I am glad that you enjoy it." He picked up a dark purple and tan colored seashell. It was a broken shard, but still beautiful. Reaching out, he handed it over to Abrose. "I just hope that the weather will be nice for the majority of it. Usually it rains for days here, although I was told we should be good for a few days at the least."

@Fenrir

Abrose shook his head in disagreement but a smile crossed his features. "As much as I would like to agree with you, I think that saying so would make me a liar." Abrose laughed softly with Malachi, watching as he settled beside him. "Getting more comfortable I see," Abrose noted with a proud, if not cheeky grin. "We'll have to visit Carniel beaches soon so I can prove you wrong." He teased, a wavering breath escaping him as he leaned into Malachi's hand, eyes fluttering shut for a moment. "Thank for bringing me. For all your dislike for beaches you seem to be enjoying yourself as well, at least I hope you are." He glanced up at Malachi, head lifting from his hand when Malachi offered the shell shard. He accepted the shell, adding it to the small pile of shells and seaglass he had collected beside him that he planned to take with them back to Atrovia, back home. "I wouldn't mind a day with rain. It'll probably be the only chance I get to properly explore the villa. Maybe find a nice cozy spot ad read some of the books I saw before I ran out here." He laughed, tugging his knees to his chest so that the cool water wouldn't reach him.

@knightinadream group

At first, he shrugged before his brow quirked up."Oh you are bad. Mocking your king, now are we?" He chuckled. On the other hand, he supposed that Abrose was right about the comfortable part. It wouldn't be right to just discard your partner. Malachi has to admit that he likes being with his husband despite the fact they have only spent a certain amount time together already. "I know I am right, I believe I have been there before. Although it would not hurt to go, I assume."

Watching as Abrose put the seashell shard into a pile, he leaned a little over to get a better look. His eyes grew wide for a second. Was he really inside long enough for Abrose to make such a pile? He laughed again, shaking his head. At least this beach has plenty of seashells.

Malachi nodded. He doesn't really mind storms, although Atrovia has a long rain and storm season; not to mention the southern region experiencing monsoons. "There are plenty of cozy areas around the villa," He said, "I spotted a few before I came out here. The library was one of them, of course."

@Fenrir

Abrose pressed a hand to his chest "I would never, my dear. I'm merely going to prove you wrong, of course gently and with love." He reassured, his eyes growing slightly distant as he remembered the beaches close to Carniel. Technically Carniel didn't have beaches since they were an inner continental kingdom but they bordered a neighboring coastal kingdom. "It is beautiful. It's been a while since we've gone back though. It'd be nice to visit again.
He glanced over, feeling Nalachi's presence over his shoulder. I'll have bto narrow down what I want to bring back," he said sheepishly, starting to sort through pieces of shell and sea glass.
"Then that'll be the first place to visit." He decided, scooping up his slightly smaller pile of finds and putteing them in his shirt to carry back to the Villa. "I'll have to find a jar for these for safe keeping or perhaps a pouch of some sort. As a safe keep of our honeymoon."

@knightinadream group

Malachi laughed before he leaned over, almost about to kiss Abrose on the cheek before he stopped. Should he? Should he not? They didn't really establish what both of them were comfortable with. Malachi doesn't mind kissing really, but of course that is just him and it's totally fine if Abrose does not want to explore intimacy yet. It was different for Malachi's parents since they had already knew each other for a while, but their relationship will always be kept in mind for him.

He just stayed still, but continued to examine the pile of seashells. This beach has a copious amounts of them; it's probably one of the only ones that does. Other ones up north are rocky. Nevertheless, he should probably take Abrose up there since he seems to enjoy collecting things like seashells and such.

"Oh it is quite alright," Malachi assured, "I am sure that we will find way to take it all back if you want. I can carry some of it back too." He smiled at what his husband planned to do with them all. "That is a wonderful idea. Glass making is a highly regarded occupation in these parts. Maybe I can send a servant to buy some or maybe we go to the town ourselves."

@Fenrir

Abrose stayed deathly still when he felt Malachi’s breath on his skin. He wasn’t sure if meeting Malachi half way would be too bold or if he was even reading his intentions correctly. In his brief moment of flustered hesitation, he had barely registered Malachi’s laughter. It was rare when he saw his husband laugh in his presence, especially when they were so this was a welcomed treat.
Abrose continued to sort through his little pile, now debating between his collection of pebbles and seagrass. Some pebbles were pretty while others were plain but felt nice in the hand. As for the sea glass most were varying shades of green save for a few chips that he had found that were violets or yellows. He bunched his lips in concentration before deciding on keeping all the chips of sea glass, half of the pebbles and the more whole pieces of shell including the one Malachi had given him.
He glanced back at Malachi, momentarily forgetting their proximity. “Really? That’d be great. I’d love to go in person if that’s alright. We rarely see glass makers in Carniel save for the summer festivals when they visit. They’re products are always amazingly beautiful.” He scooped up the pebbles and sea glass into his tunic and slowly stood so he didn’t drop any. He smiled softly and pressed a kiss to Malachi’s hair before he could chicken out. “Thank you Malachi, not only for this but for everything. Truly. I will forever be grateful to you.” He nodded towards the shells. “Can you bring those in? I think its about time I look around the villa we’ll be staying at.”

@knightinadream group

Glancing ahead into the ocean, he let out a long exhale. The wind kept blowing hard enough to make his loose shirt look poofy. He had to constantly run his fingers through his hair just so he can see well enough.

"Of course you can. I do not see why you wouldn't be able to," He said. Glass work is such a beautiful art in Atrovia and Carniel; Malachi's brother liked to argue that it was one reason why they are close in allyship. While some arts have been lost in time, thankfully glass work isn't. "Later on I will talk to someone and we can arrange plans-"

"Huh?" A freezing shutter overcame him. Feeling Abrose's lips on his head were strong enough to make Malachi stay in place for a moment or two. A light blush arose on his face, although he is sure that he will not admit it to anyone. All he could really do was blink until reality hit him.

Looking over at the shells, he blinked to gaze up at Abrose. No words had fallen upon his tongue. He just took the pile and began to make his way back to the villa.

@Fenrir

Abrose slowly made his way up the steps to the back entrance of the home, making sure to brush off any excess sand that had clung to his clothes and self. As he stepped inside, his eyes widening in awe as he took in the home. How had he ran past all of this? He set down his treasures on a nearby table and slowly started making his way around the rooms. He skimmed a light hand over the books as he entered the library. He stopped in front of the fireplace, looking over the decoration that scattered the mantle, a soft smile falling on his features at the various heirlooms he saw. Beside the fireplace, an expansive window led to a view outside of the beach and ocean. Abrose knew it was the same beach he had just been on but seeing it’s expanse from inside the home still took his breath away. After a few moments of admiring, Abrose made his way across the home to the bedroom, figuring he could also change before he found the kitchen to make something for the both of them to eat. Abrose slowly opened the door to the bedroom, trying his best not to focus too much on what this room meant to both Malachi and him as well as what it had meant for the late king and queen of Atrovia. He sucked in a breath as his gaze lifted to see a large bed, swathed in various blankets and pillows. In that moment, all Abrose wanted to do was lay down and let the bed cradle him in warmth, falling alseep to the sound of the ocean that could be heard from the window across the room. Restraining himself, Abrose found their bags in the corner and dug through until he found a burgandy tunic and pants that seemed that would fit him. He slipped into the bathroom to shower and change, reveling in luxury for a bit before stepping out and heading to the kitchen as well as to find Malachi.

@knightinadream group

Malachi forgotten how much he was not fond of the beach. One could say that he is eating his words, though he would never admit this. At first, he walked slowly while holding the seashells and pieces. Then he felt the sand on the sides of his legs; its course feeling so neatly going well with the slight wet sensation as well. It was a hard matter for him to ignore. He only managed to make the most of it by counting his steps then, of course, handing the seashells over to a servant and giving them full detail as to what to do with them.

Afterwards he washed off, obviously focusing getting every single grain of sand off of his body. It felt like an eternity to do so, but in reality, it was only roughly ten minutes. A tremendously long ten minutes if one were to ask him.

The clothes he wore were wet and had sand all over somehow. Some servants did bring him his royal blue robes, an undershirt, and some trousers. As typical of him, he completely disregarded the undershirt, putting it off to the side. Malachi just made sure his trouser buttons were secured and tightly tied his robe.

He walked around the villa for a bit. The sky seemed to get a bit darker while he did so. The ends of his robe swished as he strolled around. For once everything felt fine. His eyes felt heavy and his steps were rather sluggish, but he didn't seem to notice these details.

Returning to the fireplace, he laid on the sofa. Malachi wasn't sure what to do with himself since Abrose was probably off looking around the villa. He could get up and look for his husband. He definitely could. On the other hand, he started to fall asleep after laying there for awhile.

@Fenrir

After what seemed like a good twenty minutes of wandering the around the Villa looking for Malachi, Abrose determined that his husband was probably washing up from their little stay at the beach. Deciding to leave him be for now, Abrose wandered to the kitchen, slightly surprised to find servants already bustling about in the kitchen. He still wasn’t used to so many people, let alone servants constantly around. Back home in Carniel, they had fewer servants than in Atrovia. The Nightingale family had always been a bit more independant, they had only kept a few dedicated servants for everyday tasks though they had always been reminded that they could leave at any given time. Even after spending half a year in Atrovia, Abrose was still wary of the servants, always prepared to assist Abrose with any menial task.
Shaking from his thoughts, Abrose entered the kitchen and tugged on an apron to begin prepping for the dinner. Much to some of the servant’s horror, he took up a spot at a nearby cutting board and started chopping vegetables and milling spices in a mortar and pestle. He had lived cooking ever since he was young. Besides exploring the grounds with his father and siblings, the late king of Carniel made a point to teach his children skills in the kitchen. Ambrose had loved every moment he spent in the warm kitchen, either prepping food, or stirring a pot of stew, ambrose could spend as many hours in the kitchen as he could in a library. When the servants realized Abrose wouldn't accidentally stab himself, they let him be, some even started up a casual conversation, asking how he like Atrovia and how he liked his stay at the villa, all of which Abrosed loved so far.
Once he was mostly finished with prep and finally found out what they were making, a local fish with grilled veggies and roasted potatoes, the servants sent him off to find Malachi. Abrose washed his hands and hung the apron up before leaving with the promise he'd be back to help plate the dinner. He walked around the villa a bit, now a bit more familiar with the layout and searched for his husband. He eventually walked into the library and found Malachi sprawled out on one of the chaise lounges, sound asleep. With a small laugh, Abrose knelt beside Malachi and gently brushed aside his hair. "Forgive me, my dear but dinner will be served soon. I doubt you'd want to miss out on the delicious dinner we've worked so hard on."

@knightinadream group

Dreams are always often a funny thing for Malachi. Usually they aren't dreams at all. They always exaggerate his memories or let his anxieties take control. Stress wakes him up panting and in sweat. Sometimes he refuses to sleep because of these things. It happened a few times after his father passed, but his advisors had to argue with him about the importance of sleep.

This time there wasn't anything to led him to wake up in his usual panic. He had been worn down from all the wedding related activities and work. Even the trip over to the villa also used up some his energy.

Anyways, there wasn't anything at all. Just pitch black and him breathing. Next thing he knew, faint footsteps appeared, although it didn't alarm him enough to wake up. Somehow Malachi didn't stir when Abrose brushed his hair. His husband's fingers glided gently that he barely even noticed.

It took him a moment for his eyes to gradually open. He blinked a couple of times before his vision settled on Abrose. "Hm? It's already time for dinner?" He asked, "Are you sure?" The sleepiness still hung on his face; his eyelids persisted in feeling heavy. Nonetheless, he stared at Abrose.

@Fenrir

Abrose patiently wait for Malachi to come around, gazing out the stained glass window behind the couch, that casted a kaleidoscope of colors throughout the room. Intrigued by the small garden behind the villa he could make out from the library window, Abrose promised himself one last even stroll around the grounds before he went to bed.
He glanced down in surprise, lifting his and slightly when he felt Malachi shift awake. There had been no second thought when Abrose reached to stroke away Malachi’s hair from his brow, no conscious thought about what the other would think of physical contact. Yet now, Abrose found that his heart quickened slightly, an apology on the tip of tongue for such a bold action but he held that back. Instead he pulled his hand back and crossed them in his lap. “Positive,” He replied, a light laugh in his voice. “Its been nearly two hours since we were on the beach. You’ve been asleep for a bit now, dear.” Abrose said, slowly standing from his spot on the ground beside Malachi. He could help himself as he reached out once against and pressed his hand to Malachi’s cheek, gently stroking back and forth with his thumb, worry creasing his brow for a moment before he stepped back. “Come now, we don’t want to eat it cold.” He promopted gently. “I promise afterwards you can sleep all you want.”

@knightinadream group

Even with eyes slightly opened, Malachi was half asleep. Every little cell in his body was fighting to get him fully awake, but it would be a long process for sure. For being a monarch (even if it's only been a few months now), he still gets sleepy and he still wants to sleep. Maybe if he convinces Abrose to stay here and they can sleep together, then it will be a win for him and Abrose too.

There was no reaction to his husband's touch. Not a single stir. No, it is not from him being sleepy. He was not sure whether or not he really enjoys such intimacy. It has been so long since he has ever had someone move his hair in such a way. The most difficult thing is that, he is not so confident in himself in that area as a person.

His eyes glanced down at Abrose's hand. Is it strange to want to hold it? All thoughts froze in his mind. The heat coming from his own face pressed against Abrose and his hand. With the buzz, it made him awake at the least.

Before his husband's hand moved away, he gently grabbed it. "Alright…." He reluctantly sighed. Slowly, he sat up. Lacing their fingers, Malachi pressed Abrose's hand against his cheek before removing it, still holding hands. "Could we stay like this? Just for a moment?"

@Fenrir

For a moment, Abrose thought he had made the wrong decision to reach out to touch Malachi. He was going to pulled back and apologies this time, blaming his sudden action on being caught up on the moment or tired.
He was about to back away towards the door when Malachi took his hand. Abrose froze in place, watching almost in a trance when Malachi laced their hands together and pressed his them to his cheek. Abrose felt the warmth from Malachi's cheek seep into his skin at he point of contact.
"O-of course." Abrose replied, hesitantly settling beside Malachi on the couch, pulling legs up so that he could rest his chin on top. "We could have dinner brought here if you'd like. I think it'd be understandable for at least one day." He suggested softly, lightly stroking the back of Malachi's hand with his thumb. "After dessert I was thinking about taking an evening walk, just around the grounds. You're more than welcome join of course." He peeked up and smiled, "though you seem in favor of turning in early on the first day of our honeymoon." He teased gently. "It has been a long few weeks, we deserve a break or two from all the planning and stress."

@knightinadream group

Some of the words flew over his head. The sleepy feeling was still there, but he was sure of himself that now he is finally starting to wake up. "Just one day?" He groaned. His bottom lip jutted out as he exhaled through his nose. This will most likely be the only time he can just sit and lay around before they go back, but that makes him sound lazy, doesn't it?

He shook his head, "No no no, let's save that for another day." Even when he is trying to wake up, but also is enjoying the motion of Abrose's thumb brushing against his hand. Everything feels warm now or maybe his head is burning up; Malachi isn't sure at all.

Groaning again, he gave Abrose's hand a light squeeze. Slowly he shifted a little, but made sure that he wouldn't be in his husband's way. With a little tilt of his chin, he looked at Abrose. "Another walk?" He laughed for a moment. "I do not like admitting to being tired, but I suppose I wouldn't mind spending the first night of this honeymoon walking around this place with you."

@Fenrir

Abrose gave a genuine laugh of surprise, finding Malachi’s sleepy self quite adorable. “Well, perhaps not just one night. We are on our honeymoon for a week or so. I assume we’re allowed to relax for that amount of time before we inevitably go back to our royal duties.” He reasoned, his amused smile remaining as he watched his sleepy husband.
“If you’re sure. I’m sure the rest will appreciate an appearance from their king at the dinner table at least for one night.” He tilted his head and lightly toyed with Malachi’s hand, tracing over scars and over the wedding band, matching the one on Abrose’s hand.
He looked up as Malachi shifted into a more comfortable position and ducked his head, realizing Malachi must still be exhausted from all the wedding planning and the royal duties he still had to deal with surrounding that. This was probably the first week in a while where he could sleep without a need to worry or wake up early. “We don’t have to of course. You must be tired after all the excitement. I guess the exhaustion still hasn’t caught up to me yet, though I’m sure it will very soon.” He rambled slight, his cheeks lightly flushed. He huffed softly, flustered but he managed to nod. “The Villa really is beautiful. I can imagine any people finding true bliss here, including you and your family. I’m honored you brought me here, thank you.”

@knightinadream group

Royal duties….Oh how he wants to go one day without thinking of such tedious things. Ever since the crowning ceremony, all he has done is run around, give orders, execute plans, tons of writing, tons of reading, practically barking orders, disciplining nobles to follow his lead or else, and so on. All of it is what he was made to do, and yet, at the end of the day, it drains everything from him.

Malachi patted the side of his left cheek. "But my face is puffy…." He closed his eyes as his hand fell to the side. "They can go one evening without seeing me. In fact, they probably will enjoy it…
We don't have to have supper anywhere beside the dining room every night."

Glimpsing just a little bit, he watched as Abrose traced over his hand. The sensation gave him shivers, but his face was warm enough to counteract it. "Oh, it will one way or another….That is for sure." Guess he could say that it clearly has with him. It not usually like him to be so weary yet here he is now.

"Do not say things like that," He mumbled. Rather lazily, he pointed at his wedding band then at Abrose's. "You are a part of this family too. They are yours too and you are theirs respectively." Malachi titled his head a little, finally noticing the sudden redness on his husband's face. "What? What is that blush on your face for, hm?"

@Fenrir

“I’m sure a change would be welcomed for everyone, after all this is vacation. Who’d going to say anything if we do things a bit off?” Abrose chuckled softly, rubbing his eyes and humming softly. “You with puffy cheeks and I with dark circles under my eyes, what a sight indeed. Though I doubt anyone will blame us for our appearance with how busy its been for these past few months.”
Abrose tilted his head to the side and hid a small yawn before giving Malachi’s hand a gentle squeeze and standing. “Well, we should probably head to dinner, before we both fall asleep where we sit.” He urged gently, glancing down at the wedding band on his finger “If that is the case, then I am honored to be considered as part of such an amazing family, even if by a marriage of convenience. I don’t think I could ever express how much that means to me.” He smiled softly, clenching his hand to his heart as he took a good long look around at the grand library, one where he could easily imagine the late king and queen with their children, running around with curiosity in their eyes. It was a place Abrose could picture himself with Malachi, surprising though possible.
He slowly returned his gaze to Malachi, head tipped slight in confusion before he pressed his hand to his cheek and gave a light laugh, “That would be due to you, dear.” He admitted truthfully, figuring it easier instead of trying to fib. “Its the first time in month, where we’ve had a normal conversation. No treaties, no formal documents to mull over, no premarital formalities for the public’s sake, just us. Speaking as if we’ve known each other for years. Its nice, knowing you’re not always so formal all the time. Granted I think that has to do with how tired you are but still, I like not needing to be so uptight around you. I hadn’t realized that until now.” He gave a slight shrugged and fiddled with the cuff of hi sleeve, for a moment fearing he had been too informal with Malachi. But fort hat same moment, Malachi had felt like the most normal person he had met since coming to Atrovia in months.
