It took her a minute or two to realize he was highly invested in his book. Of course, a book is more interesting than her work. She obviously knew. Emese had to fight off the urge of rolling her eyes out of politeness. Then again, does she have to be that polite to him?

She went through a few methods to get his attention. "Haruta…..Haruta…..My dear…My love…Sweetie?…..Sweetheart?…..Your Majesty?…..Yah, idiot!" She whispered. Slumping back into the chair, her lips pressed with frustration. Yes, she even tried pushing the papers even closer to him. Yet he sat as still as a statue, reading that darn book.

Emese decided to do something that he would never nor would she want to, but it must be done. She walked around and stood behind him. Wrapping her arms below his neck, she rested her chin on his shoulder. Emese lightly poked his cheek. "I believe you have rather important reading for you behind that book you have, my dear," She whispered.

He finally looked up from his book when he felt a weight on his shoulders, then he heard her whisper and jumped a bit. He wasn't expecting her to whipser to him out of nowhere.
He grabbed her hand that poked him, huffing.
"Don't do that.' He grumbles, before realizing she was hugging onto him and laying her chin on his shoulder. He quickly moved to get out from her arms, untangling himself from them quickly. He stood up, clearing his throat.
"So your done then?'He spoke, noticing the papers slid towards him. He moved to grab them and pick them up, looking over them as he stood there.
she didn't do bad..hm, I wonder how she would deal with other tasks.
He was indeed going to treat her like a scholar so he himself had some free time.
He looked back up at her,
"I suppose this will suffice."

Part of her was not necessarily worried of what he would think. She knows how intelligent she is. She knows her worth, and Haruta is stupid to not know either of them. He doesn't even know how he should be deeply valuing his own wife, how he should be grateful she is not chewing him out.

But so be it. Emese already hates the way she is being treated. She hates how she has no other option to as well. Crying and complaining to her father and brothers will not do, besides it makes her look like a fool. And that is a pet peeve of hers.

She moved steps back the moment he did. Biting on the corners of her lips, she fought the urge to laugh. Not saying a word, she nodded in response to his question. No, I am not. I will never be done with you, and you will pay for it. You will pay for my work too.

"You suppose?" She inquired. Emese sighed, holding her arms out to him. "Come on now. I do not do the work I am meant without something. Besides if it suffices, shouldn't I be getting something from my lovely, kind husband too?"

He looked at her, a bit confused on what she was asking for. He moves over to her, and just patted her head.
"Good job." He says, almost like he would to do a dog that he was petting. He honestly had no clue what she was wanting in that moment, so hopefully this would work.
He moved away from her to read the papers, looking over her answers again and studying them in the way that he could remember them and propose the ideas to the royal court.
He was sure they would be fine with this.
Though he wouldn't tell them he had his wife do them.
It would make him look foolish.

Perhaps she had set her expectations way too high. Yeah, that's probably it. Emese frowned as she felt him pat her head. Ah yes, I married you which made you king and I did work, but all you can do is treat me like a dog? A dog? She should be ashamed of herself for ever speaking to him today.

She had to force her hands to unravel from the fists they have turned into. There was no use of proving a copious amount of points she has via her fists. Communication is a valuable tool, her father always told her, communication.

Letting her skirts drag against the floor, she rushed over in front of him. Oh how she really just wants to step on his foot right now. No no no, she mustn't resort to that yet. "You know, Haruta, that married couples do something called giving each other affection, which I know is something you have no idea what that is," She said. "And there is one particular act of affection that I want in return for support you and doing your work."

Once again, she had her arms out. "It's called hugging, and you are not leaving or stealing my work without hugging me this very moment," She stated. "And if you don't know how, I can walk you through it. Just come close to me. Now."

He didn't like the idea of him not knowing something, especially someone telling him that he didn't know something as simple as this.
"I know what a hug is!" He huffed at her frustratedly. He crossed his arms, looking away.
"What if I just don't want to hug you? Have you thought of that?"
He held his chin up high as he looked away and crossed his arms. He was being mostly just stubborn and difficult, he hadn't hugged someone since his mom was alive. That was when he was a little kid.
So maybe he didn't realize she wanted a hug, and maybe he wasn't good with physical affection but he was the king! He didn't have to bossed around by his wife.

@knightinadream group

Well, at least he knows what a hug is. Bringing her index finger to rest on her bottom lip, she pondered for a second then rushed over in front of him again. "At least talk to me about it then, that way I will know. It would be better if we spent time together and talked," She responded. "How about a kiss on the cheek then and a 'Oh Emese, I love you so.' Or maybe we can hold hands and walk through the gardens? I know you like the flowers as much as I do."

Why is she putting up a fight with this? Haruta is complex, stubborn, and all to himself. In all honesty, she is confused on whether or not to give up. She cannot fix him, that's his own problem. And yet, she wants a husband. A good, loyal, loving husband. She does want to be involved in royal procedure and do some of her own too, but she knows that she can only do so much to fix everything. He needs to do his own part.

Her shoulders dropped. The light in her eyes dimmed a little. Moving to where his face was, she got on her toes to fix his hair. "I will not do work for nothing. Any intelligent person knows their worth, and so do I, Haruta," She said. "And being your wife feels like neverending unfair work, and it shouldn't have to be."

She wanted to traced the side of his face with her finger, but she knew it was silly. He wouldn't like it anyways. Relaxing on her feet, she rolled her shoulders back. "At least stop being so stiff, it does no good for your health. You are an idiot, but you are my idiot, and I want everybody associated with me to be smart enough to treat themselves fairly."

@imJUSTasillylittleguy group

He stared her down the entire time she talked or messed with his hair or making startled expressions at the fact that she wanted him to kiss her.
That concept might as well be lost to him.
The fact he was supposed to utter I love you to her according to her was so baffling to his Mind.
Why would he say things like that he didn't even mean?
It would be ingenuine and torture for them both to fake a romantic relationship. Well, probably more torture for just him, and she would probably enjoy now that he thinks about it more.
"I am NOT an IDIOT!" He yelled at her, glaring at her."if you even want to think about affectionate gesture you will not speak to the king or your husband in such a manor!" He continued his yelling, clearly frustrated that he had been labeled an idiot.
"Why would I ever want to be yours? Who would want you? You label your spouses as insults!" He scoffed at her, crossing hiss arms.

@knightinadream group

She wasn't sure what to say, feel, or think in that moment. On the other hand, in her mind, she heard glass break. She could have sworn it. The instant he started to yell, she took a step back. Her shoulders jumping up to her ears. Her hands squeezing each other to the point they turned white. Her eyes began to water, and yet, she stared straight forward at him.

Right, there's no point in trying or making jokes or giving him any kindness or affection or anything. Her sigh was long, her breathing became heavy. "Right, I am the idiot. I just wanted to make a joke and be good to you, but there's no point. It's all pointless," She said.

Emese clutched her skirts as she did her best to fight back the tears. Tears make her weak, and she cannot be weak now. "I don't know. You are the one who asked my father for my hand in marriage. Something went through your head when you saw me and thought, 'Ah yes…She will make a good bride.' or maybe 'Ah yes, my key to becoming king.' It's probably that second one, isn't it? The key to becoming king? And then you only need me for heirs too, right?"

Lowering her hand, she looked at the jade wedding bands on her finger. "Well you got one thing now, and I am not bearing you children until you decide to be my husband. A real husband. And I cannot do anything about it, until you do," She said. Taking off the top wedding band, she dropped it on the floor in front of him. "Give that to me when you want to be a husband. I give up, I can't use my heavy heart for these incessant battles with you."

Tears started to roll down her face. At this point, she didn't even care. She looked at him one more time and then at the jade ring on the floor. She stormed out the library, dragging her heart along too.

@knightinadream group

(Okie dokie, sounds good!)

Emese stormed all the way from the library to her chambers. And boy, did she not stop at all. Her poor lady-in-waiting was surprised to see her rush out and had to run after her until finally catching up. Tears kept rolling down her face, falling onto her dress. She didn't even use her sleeve to remove them. No no, she kept going until she opened the doors to her chambers herself then slammed the doors on her servants.

Thankfully they took the message. No one bothered her the moment she slammed the doors. She took off her slippers and removed the binyeo hair pin. Her hair fell out behind her. A whoosh of air sent shivers down her neck. She has no intentions of leaving her chambers for the rest of the day; she embarrassed herself to the point where her confidence has hit rock bottom.

The moment she laid back on the bed, she heard a dog panting before a giant ball of black, gray, and white floof jumped onto the bed. Isamu, the malamute that her father gave to protect her and offer company. She never knew such a gigantic dog could be excellent at protecting her as much as it would be at being a palace dog.

But nevertheless, Isamu rested next to her. She kept crying and sniffling as she brought her hand up to scratch the dog's head. Within fifteen minutes of crying and petting the dog, Emese fell asleep.

The next morning he found himself scolded over what he did to the queen. He had gone to talk about how someone messed up his breakfast and found himself being lectured and scorn.
He tried to defend himself but he couldn't get one word in edge wise and was simply told to go apologize to her now for being "insensitive"
He huffed, he wasn't the one being insensitive. How was he to know she was joking? She made no clear notice of it, and he didn't think being called an idiot was funny.
He was smart.
It was her fault.
Though…as he twisted the jade wedding band on his ring he couldn't help but think of her tear filled eyes as she fled from the scene.
She probably cried a while…he let out a soft groan, putting a hand to his face. Why are women so emotional and sensitive?
(When in reality he's the sensitive one)
He walked to her room and knocked on the door.

@knightinadream group

Though she had changed into a dark red high-waist gown, Emese kept her hair down. Her head was pounding after all that crying and worrying. She did wake up last night, but eventually cried a bit more after having supper. At least she was able to compose herself by the time the sun rose to start the day.

She feels weak and stupid. After all this time of dreaming of carrying out plans, policies, making life better for subjects, and becoming a force to be reckoned with, she is only a lonely queen who can only cry about her problems. She didn't even bother going on a walk or to the library; she probably will avoid the library for a while now or any place she can run into him.

At least she has Isamu. The funny not-so little dog kept walking around her chambers, sniffing things and occasionally licking her hand that rested on her lap. At one point, the fluff ball stopped and stared at the door, frozen. Emese was not present, thanks to her heavy heart. She only noticed the dog acting weird when she realized he barely made a peep.

Then there was knocking at the door. Isamu began to bark, but Emese sprung up and got the dog to quiet down. She dragged herself to the door then slightly opened it. A sigh fell through her lips. She didn't even have to look up to know who it is. No words came out of her mouth. Her focus was on her eyes tearing up again. If she spoke, she knew that they would run freely and it would be disaster, just like yesterday.

@imJUSTasillylittleguy group

He looked at her as she opened the door just a slight, and then a little bit more open. He moved to grab the edge of the door incase she was tempted to shut it in his face.
Which he wouldn't be surprised if that's what she wanted to do right now more then anything.
"I'm not here to have a fight with you. It's clear you need rest." He spoke, muttering the last bit. He cleared his throat as he moved to speak to her once more.
"I'm here…to a..apologise.." He looked away as he spoke his sentence out. He wasn't genuinely doing it.
Maybe like three percent genuine, or five. Definity not double digits.
"There are some things I do not agree with, and will not be apologizing for. However I will apologize for most of what happened, i..suppose I should have taken your feelings into account." He spoke a little forcefully.
