Cyprus rolled his eyes, but even his best efforts couldn't keep the flush off his cheeks. "Well I wouldn't know, would I?" It was difficult to scowl with Bryce smiling at him so brightly, but he gave it his best effort. God forbid the guy he was about to go on a date with would see him flustered. "All you ever are is rude to me, this is the first kind word you've ever had to say. At least within earshot."

@ElderGod-Carrots

Bryce chuckled, glancing at Cyprus for a moment before quickly turning his gaze back to the road, "You dunno what goes up in this fantastic brain of mine." Not that he would ever tell Cyprus his real thoughts, not right now, anyway. Maybe in the future if they got closer, but right now, no way, "You're free to be rude to me at any time, I'm not gonna complain, fair is fair."

@callycat

"I am rude to you, why else would I complain so often?" Although he'd done a decently good job keeping up with the times, he was still a child of the 20s. Being able to grumble and groan to his heart's content was a luxury. A luxury he abused, sure, but a luxury all the same. "It's not my fault you're too thickheaded to recognize it."

@ElderGod-Carrots

"Thickheaded?" Bryce sucked in a sharp breath, "I am not, but, whatever you say." Even though it was fairly late, the city was still alive and buzzing with activity. Restaurants and bars had lines in front of them, certain clubs looked hectic and the traffic wasn't the best. Bryce loved it. The fun, electric air around everyone, all having a good time, "The bar we're going to is only a few blocks away." He said.

@callycat

"Oh yes you are." He turned away from the scenery to give Bryce a lazy sort of smile. The city had never been all that exciting to Cyprus, but there was a certain appeal to seeing it with someone. Especially, as loath as he was to admit it, if that somebody was Bryce. He made everything seem so shiny and interesting, even if it was just the same stupid city he visited every other night for work. "You're the dumbest fledgling I've ever taken home, and I have many, many children."

@ElderGod-Carrots

"I'll take that as a compliment." Bryce returned Cyprus' smile with one of his own, his a little more excited, "See, the thing with being dumb, as you put it, is that we have more fun. When you can be casual and not care about anything the world is open to more possibilities." Doing dumb shit was fun in the moment, and the memories will always be there, getting caught doing dumb shit was the downside to living that sort of life. Like when Cyprus caught him in the thin-blood bar.

@callycat

"You're ridiculous," Cyprus said in return, but it was more playful than anything else. He could see why Bryce liked to live on the wild side. It seemed like it could be fun, in the moments where it wasn't causing trouble, and it was a much less stressful existence than Cyprus found himself living most days. "I hope you know that I'm never going to go out drinking with you again if you get me into trouble. Unlike you, I've got a reputation to maintain."

@ElderGod-Carrots

Bryce chuckled, making a cross over his chest, "Yes yes, cross to heart and hope to die or whatever the saying is. Not very valid but I swear I wouldn't get you into that much trouble." He couldn't promise not to get him into any trouble, but he would try his best to be sensible at least for one night. Or a couple hours. It would do Cyprus some good to let go for a little bit and not care as much.

@callycat

Cyrpus sized him up for a few moments, but Bryce seemed convincing enough that he let himself relax not long after, reaching over to give the fledgling's shoulder a soft shove. "You're terrible, you know that?" He couldn't keep the smile out of his voice. "We both know I'm the only one who's going to come out of tonight any worse for the wear, that means it's your job to keep me from being a complete mess."

@ElderGod-Carrots

The young man couldn't help but let out a soft giggle, glancing over at Cyprus when he was nudged, "I know, it's one of my best qualities." He'd do his best to make sure he didn't get him into trouble. Even though he sounded like he was lying, he would do his best if it kept Cyprus happy, "How long has it been since you last went out for a night on the town that wasn't for work?"

@callycat

Cyprus laughed and reached up to ruffle his hair, knowing full well that he'd have his hands batted away. It was fun to wind Bryce up. "You're lucky you're so cute, kid." Despite his teasing, he did trust the younger man to take care of him if he wasn't capable by the end of the night. Bryce was carefree, sure, but that didn't make him irresponsible. "And… god, it's been years at this point. And longer since I've actually participated." His kids dragged him out sometimes, but even then he didn't do much more than talk and help them get home once they were partied out.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Just as Cyprus thought, Bryce raised a hand off the wheel to whack away the others hand away from his hair, "Hey hey hey watch the locks!" He pouted a little, "I put effort into my hair for you tonight." By now they were nearing the bar and Bryce started looking out for a place to park, "Well then tonight will do you good. I promise you'll have a great time and if you don't you can ignore me forever."

@callycat

Cyprus laughed and took Bryce's hand in his as soon as he started walking, lacing their fingers together with a small smile. "You always put effort in," he complained, unable to keep the fondness out of his voice. Even pretending to be grumpy was difficult when Bryce was saying he'd dressed up for him. "Isn't this supposed to be my night? Shouldn't you let me have fun, Bryce?"

@ElderGod-Carrots

Bryce grumbled a little, though couldn't ignore the pink in his cheeks when their hands interlaced. It was… nice, and he couldn't help but enjoy it, "You can have all the fun you want and mess my hair up after we've had something to eat and drink and on the dance floor. Then you can go crazy. Deal?"

@callycat

Cyprus laughed and did his best to keep from staring at the flush creeping across Bryce's face. "That's just not fair, kid." He pulled Bryce in a little closer, smiling over at him. "The alcohol's not gonna do jack shit for you, what if I forget to cash in my prize at the end of the night? I'd hate to have all that fun for nothing."

@ElderGod-Carrots

@callycat

(Dude it's totally cool! I've been doing pretty well these past few months and I'd totally be down to start this up again or get something new going. It's really great to see you around man, I hope you're doing alright too!)

@ElderGod-Carrots

(thanks! i’m glad you’re doing good and it’s great to see you again. would you want to start something new up? we can always come back to this if we wish)

@callycat

(Yeah I think starting something new would probably be easier just because my memory of this character and where I was going with him have kind of faded. Would you want to take this into PMs? I check those messages a lot more than I do the main forums these days)
