guys look it's what I wrote about indentured servants for my homework and I'm pretty proud of this explanation

They came searching for work and some sneaky ass merchants came up and said "hey, you can live here but only if you sign this contract agreeing that you’ll waste five years of your life doing labor for me. Buuuttt you might die, in like, a year because we’ve got a ton of these New and Improved diseases that might totally kill you. And also I’m gonna sell you to plantation owners who’ll work you to exhaustion and won’t let you marry, and if you run away or get pregnant you’ll be enslaved for even longer. Also you’re probably going to die before your term ends, and if you don’t you’ll probably be a dying, homeless loser. Anyway I think it sounds like a good deal, you in? Sign this contract and you’ll be miserable for the rest of your short life. You’re welcome."
