Thanks guys. Also, if a tornado hit we shouldn't assume the absolute worst just yet. I've been through this before and the power can go out for an entire week or maybe even more before coming back on. Cell phone data could go out as well if the storm was severe enough.

It's okay. Most likely, she's absolutely fine. If there was a tornado directly next to her house (which is unlikely) she probably got herself to safety. In areas that tornados are possible, tornado drills are taught several times a year, so people know what to do when a tornado hits. I've had to do it before and I always ended up okay.

I have had to do literally one tornado drill. Where I live, tornados are unheard of. Now a hurricane snowstorm, that's common. (Kind of like a blizzard, but with a lot more ice…)

Yeah. I've had to do probably a hundred tornado drills in my life but that's because I used to live in tornado alley.
