@PuffPoff

I think we could probably start now and they could jump in when they get back

@GoblinKing

Shadul sat at the bar, nursing a large mug. Drinking was a little difficult, but she got used to it. She kept a steady eye on the notice board, watching the crowd of people around it ebb and flow.

Caspian kicked off some of the mud on her boots as she approached the tavern. Hopefully, this place would have rooms cheap enough for her to afford. As she walked in, she immediately grinned at the number of people in the building. So many races with different sizes and clothing, all seemingly from different backgrounds. Caspian already loved it.

@GoblinKing

Caspian caught Shadul's eye rather quickly. She only looked for a moment, although the stranger looked promising. The woman was soon caught up in a conversation with the dwarf sitting next to her, both making a remarkable amount of noise as they spoke.

Mylin flinched as she heard the front door jangle open. She had been working at the Fat King for a few weeks now, but she still was startled by the sound every time she heard it. Approaching the orcish woman deep in conversation, Mylin quietly topped off her drink with a heavy pitcher.

@PuffPoff

She took a deep breath, taking in the some-what unpleasant smell of the tavern. For some reason, the stink didn't bother her. Caspian began making her way to the bar for a drink when out of the corner of her eye she spotted a message board on the wall. She made her way there instead, one piece of paper in particular catching her eye.
Get rich quick huh? Caspian thought to herself as she read the paper. She wasn't interested in being rich per se, but the promise of coin intrigued her. Treasure sounded promising as well.

Mylin blushed a furious gray and looked down at the sawdust-sprinkled floor. She nodded her head shyly, muttering a soft thanks. Suddenly, the jingle of the door sounded noisily, and her slight hands accidentally spilled the pitcher’s contents all over the counter. Mylin cursed quietly under her breath and began to sop up the mess with a threadbare rag.

@GoblinKing

"…Say. Not to seem too forward, but how would you like to get outta here?" Shadul's voice was gruff and sounded like a bark, no matter her volume. She leaned back, twirling her hair in her hands. "Whaddya say?

@Yamatsu

(Shit, y'all went IN when I wasn't paying attention!)

Yama liked taverns, but never for the booze. He couldn't handle it anyway, which was strange given that his father grew up on the strong draconic ales and his mother could out-drink three grown men. He loved taverns for the gossip. Literally everything interesting in town went down at a tavern, and there were always fights, drama, and general goings-on that he could eavesdrop on whenever he was nearby. The food and colorful locals certainly brightened up the atmosphere as well, even when he found out that most of the gossip was about him.
The Fat King was always a good spot to frequent, even if he never did actually drop his name around. Most people knew him on sight alone, which certainly made it interesting when they gave him his usual soda and sandwich after a few months of eating there once every week.

“Yes.” Mylin spoke without hesitation or question. “I want to go.” She scared herself with her willingness, but at the same time, Mylin was so desperate to leave she couldn’t help herself. Her fingers began to untie her apron and hung it on the worn peg next to the counter. “Where to?”

@PuffPoff

Caspian casually scanned the tavern, looking for whoever might have put up the flyer she was reading. She wasn't entirely sure why she was looking, considering she had absolutely nothing to go off of.

@GoblinKing

"What's your name, girl? I got a post up there for a couple adventurers." Shadul picked up her mug again. "I can't go too far just yet. Tell you what.. we can move to the back if it helps. I just need to keep an eye on the listing." The orcish woman didn't really look like her little scrawling on the poster, but given that she was one of the only half-orcs in the tavern, she wasn't difficult to spot at all.

@vidari-is-tired-in-advance group

“Mylin. Mylin Poe,” she replied, finally making eye contact with Shadul. “That sounds absolutely perfect. We can move to the back too, my boss won’t mind. I just …really need to get out of here.” The last part Mylin said in a whisper, her pale eyes darting back and forth across the clientele of the tavern.

@PuffPoff

She stood on her tiptoes to try and find any orcish women that looked like the one on the flyer. Honestly, Caspian would be surprised if the person that put up the flyer looked exactly like that. She wasn't…entirely sure that's how the female body worked.
Finally, she spotted a half-orc woman closer to the bar. Caspian glanced between the flyer and the woman, squinting a bit to see if the picture looked like the real half-orc.
Well, it's close enough. Caspian though as she made her way over to the woman, who seemed to be speaking with one of the barmaids.

@PuffPoff

"Hi!" Caspian greeted cheerfully, smiling up at the taller half-orc. "You wouldn't happen to be the one that posted that flyer about the treasure hunter's guild, would you?"

@vidari-is-tired-in-advance group

Mylin turned to face the newcomer, relaxing as she saw the friendly smile on their face. And a treasure hunter’s guild? Traveling from place to place to find gold and jewels and who knows what? That sounded right up Mylin’s alley. “Absolutely,” she replied. “I’m in.”
