(I can be a melodramatic haunting ghost!)
(No.)
(What if we just… all stayed alive for the being? I know it sounds absolutely ludicrous.)
(Ikr?)
(pfft)
(Back to the cold I go!)
Mira signaled Clare, Something was wrong. Clare was on her feet in an instant she ran straight past the pile of dirt and fallowed Mira's signal. Clare was sure she would catch up, Bella would be exhausted and half frozen at this point, She saw a figure running in the distance and faintly she could see her tiger running along side the girl. Clare sprinted ahead of the girl then caught her preventing her from running any further. "WOuld. YOu. STop. ThAt!" Clare yelled between breaths. "You cause more problems by running off then you do when you stay put! Has running away ever solved anything? No! No it hasn't it didn't solve my problems and it wont solve yours. What would happen if you vanished, You've upset Azriel enough haven't you! Running away would make her feel guilty because that's just the kind of Angel she is, running away wont fix any of our problems alright! Now come on, sence we're out here we might as well keep traveling, the cave we were in before looked a it sketchy any way." Clare looked around searching for another place to stop, "Look over there the rocks make a kind of shelter, not quite a cave but it'll do, Now come on, It's harder to keep a fire Cat going in the wind."
“Running away saved Alex.” Arabella’s voice was barely audible in the wind. She looked Clare straight in the eye. “I tried to run from y’all before so this wouldn’t happen. If you had let me run, Azriel would be ok. It’s not your choice if I run. It’s my life, and I choose what I do with it. If that means running into this tundra for your guys sake- then so be it. Wouldn’t you rather Azriel be guilty than dead. Look, I don’t know how you were raised, but I was raised to be dangerous. I pretty much grew up as a living breathing science experiment. I’m used to surviving through tough things. I always have and I always will. Now why don’t you go back to the cave and take care of the people you can help. I’m long gone. I have been for years. There’s no saving me, but you can save Azriel. Iris will be glad I’m gone anyway.” Arabella turned and began to jog away as her stupid red hair whipped in her face. She pulled her hair over her shoulders and in one swift motion, grabbed her dagger and cut the long red mass just below her shoulders. It was rough, but it would do. She watched the red hair fall into the snow, standing out like blood. She had to leave.
(Mulan?)
Clare sighed, she didn't want to have to do this, In one swift motion Clare grabbed her bow staff charged it up with electricity then clobbered Bella in the head with it. If the force of the blow didn't make the girl pass out then the electricity would leave her paralyzed and unable to move for at least 4 hours. "Sorry but you were starting to annoy me and it's been a really long day and I really need sleep and if that means knocking you out then that's what it means."
(gOODBYE FATHER! COME ON MOOSHU! LETS GO SAVE CHINA!)
OOF. BLACKNESS.
(XD you forgot the hair part)
(CHOP)
(fOR CHINA!)
(Wait is, oof, blackness your response?)
(I- I think so. What else can she do?)
(It wasn't a judgement just a question, I was unsure)
Clare picked up Bella and quickly traveled to the almost cave, she built a small smokeless fire and positioned Bella so the poor girl would be comfortable then she closed her eye's and rested. Blissful sleep, how she had wished for this moment when her mind would be filled with molasses and her breathing would slow into a shallow pattern interrupted only when she would shift ever so slightly. Yes Clare embraced sleep.
(eep)
As time stretches on, a thick layer of dark clouds covers the sky and flakes of white begin drifting downwards. Slowly at first, but soon the rocky, uneven ground is covered by a layer of snow. The wind whistles past and twists between the bluffs above, sounding eerily like whispers. A hauntingly familiar rush of many voices muttering. The whispers wind their way through the dreams of those asleep, piercing the inter-dimensional magic of Clare's bag and touching the ears of those within. The snowfall comes down harder until there is nothing but a wall of white and darkness. But somewhere in the snowstorm, there is a presence. Ancient and knowing. It watches you, two burning red eyes in the distance.
holy shit
Iris jolted upright, heartbeat pounding a steady thrum in her ears. "You felt that," she stated, eyes frantic and wide. She brushed a hand over Azriel's wing, smoothing over a few feathers. Her Brachish wavered, "You did, didn't you?"
Azriel slowly nodded, eyes opening wide. "What was it?" She whispered.
"I… I don't think we want to know," she replied. Her hand fastened on her sheath as she stood, reluctantly moving out of her angel's warmth. A quick scan up and down Azriel provided no comfort. Mouth dry, Iris said, "You're in no condition for whatever is coming our way."
Azriel scowled. "Oh, do shut up," she growled. "I'll be fine. Honestly, I'm not useless just because I've been injured."
Frowning, Iris debated how to word her thoughts without insulting the girl. "You're not," she began, "but at the same time I don't want to risk overworking your body. You lost a lot of blood, Azriel…"
Azriel took several deep breaths to calm herself. "Well, we don't need to argue about this until we actually know what that noise was, and whether we'll have to fight or not," she said carefully.
Iris pondered for a moment before shrugging. "I suppose." Her face scrunched up as she thought. "I don't want you jumping into battle, though, with no warning if the need does arise." Hands now resting at her hips, the elf examined the angel again.
Crossing her arms, Azriel replied, "I won't promise anything."
An exasperated huff drove it's way out of the elf. Teeth gritted, she mumbled, "Don't overwork yourself. You should still be resting and recovering, for the time being."
"Well, we don't know what's going to happen. For all we know, it's just the wind. I can't rest and relax forever," Azriel warned.
An arched brow conveyed her opinions. "You felt that," she accused, "we both know that's unnatural." In Medein, she quickly called for Clare to discuss their plan of action. Facing Azriel once more, Iris soothed, "You won't be. You just have to restore energy and let your body rest, for my sake."
