Kokichi sighed softly and shook his head. "I don't think anyone's ever tried to comfort me, so I don't even know if you are or you're just saying that you are to mess with me."

“ no, I'm not messing with you, I'm just trying to make you feel less stressed “

"I…I wouldn't have known… I've already told you that no one's ever tried comforting me before…" Kokichi sighed softly. "I-I guess it's helping…? I-I dunno…"

“ well let me know if you don't like it,” he said softly

"No…I like it… I just dunno if it's helping… I'm still stressed out about stuff, but I dunno why…" Kokichi sighed softly. "Could we just leave…? I don't wanna be here anymore…"

“ yeah,” kaito said and before he could turn around, his girlfriend walked in

"Kaito, what are you doing hugging that little piece of shit…?!" Maki growled. "You know how much I absolutely despise him, and you're hugging him…?! Did he force you to do this…?!"

“ n..no I did it on my own accord is there a problem.”

"Yes, that's a problem! If you're gonna hang out with my enemy, we're through! Don't talk to me again!" Maki growled before she stormed out of the classroom.

"Harsh…" Kokichi mumbled as he looked away from Kaito. He didn't want to admit it, but the yelling upset him a bit.

Kaito had started crying “baby!” he calls after her and ran out of the room

Maki growled at Kaito once she saw him. "I told you not to talk to me again!" she yelled. "Now we're gonna fight!"

Before Kaito could do anything, Maki pulled out a knife. As she was labeled the Ultimate Assassin back in high school, it wasn't unusual for her to have concealed weapons on her at all times. She began to attack, but she knew that Kaito would fight back.

However, before Maki could start her fight with Kaito, Kokichi showed up. He knew that Kaito wasn't upset by the breakup at all, knowing that his classmate was gay, though closeted to everyone but him, so he was curious as to what was going on. He growled at Maki, despite being scared, wanting to protect Kaito.

"Stop it, you bitch!" he demanded. "Leave Kaito alone!"

Kaito held his arm out “ don't worry ko I got it.” he said and put his arms up “ you want a fight? Then I'll give you one.”

"She has a knife on her, you know. I'm not letting her kill you!" Kokichi yelled, glaring at Maki. "I guess it's time for a fight!"

Maki nodded, but due to Kokichi showing up, he went towards him instead of Kaito. Her target had changed, so she was determined to get rid of Kokichi.

Kaito took only a moment to attack maki from the side “ nice try!”

Maki growled. "I'm gonna kill that boy, and then we can be together again! Kaito, just stop fighting and let me do this!"

“No!” kaito yelled and blocked her attacks once more

"I understand why she wants to kill me, though. I don't get why you're getting so protective over me, Momota-chan…" Kokichi sighed softly. "I can't fight back, so…"

Maki grinned. "He'd let me kill him anyway, so let me get this over with!"

“ no! I'm fighting because I care for him! So you will not hurt him”

"You care for that worthless bitch…?!" Maki growled. "I guess you'll both have to die, then…!"

Before either of them could do much, Maki managed to get an attack in. While she aimed for Kokichi, she ended up hitting Kaito instead since he moved Kokichi out of the way. Maki didn't mind, deciding to just attack both. She grabbed another knife, and then she began to attack both of them without much hesitation.

Despite how confident Kokichi acted when Maki first threatened to attack, he was now still, frozen in fear. Usually he could've kept his act up, but due to how overwhelming his anxiety had been recently, he couldn't. He just let her attack.

Kaito felt the blood drip down his neck and cheek.
And then she went after kokichi. That was the last straw.
Kaito nailed maki upside the head and watch her fall flat “ and stay down.” he growled

Kokichi looked up at Kaito as soon as he knocked Maki out. "Momota-chan…! You're bleeding…!" he exclaimed, worried. He couldn't have cared less about his own injuries, focusing on Kaito's instead. "Are you okay…?"

“ I'm fine, she didn't cut all the way through..” he said

Kokichi nodded and hugged Kaito. "That…that was…interesting…" he sighed softly, trying to hide how shaken up he was.

Kaito chuckled and picked kokichi up “ nurses office for you,”
