Sam: Uh…I mean Cade and I fight a lot but she's okay I guess. Mum's been drinking a lot since dad passed so all the responsibility kind of falls on me, even though I have school. I just really hope Cade will do better than I can.
Cade: Sam is trying her hardest but I can tell it's hard for her with mom being wasted all the time. I don't tell her mom hits me. We both miss dad a lot. At least they got to say goodbye.

Royka would say his family is strong. He would say he comes from a line of survivors and that he is no exception. He does everything for his father and brother, and even though he sees their flaws clearly - especially his father - he would never speak ill of them to a stranger.
Eris and Davlin would say their families are each other, happily.
Illy would say he doesn't have a family. It's just him and his dad and he hardly sees his dad. He's closer to his nurses than he is to his own blood.
Dax would say he doesn't know. His family lives across the continent and he hasn't seen them in a decade. Royka is his closest family now and he adores him more than anything.
