Okay, by the way, the more worse the situation is, the more I like that character. I do this weird thing where if they have a more traumatic backstory, it's my way of saying, I love this character. IDK, I'm weird.

Truly: Was told all of his friends would live if he brought the main character and her group to the villain, The Clock Queen. On the sly, she had already killed all of his friends, because she's frickin' evil. She just wanted to toy with him. And if she broke him, she knew she could use him for info on the main characters, because without his friends to threat, she knew he wouldn't care anymore. But knew he would try to have the main character (Klyria) help him save his friends. And she had to keep promises. Then, after discovering that they were all dead, he goes crazy and tries to save their souls which the Queen has stolen to use for magical purposes. He goes against everyone, not wanting to get attached to anyone ever again and be broken. Klyria and her group find him again at some point, cause he ran off after going crazy, and they take it the wrong way. At first he tries to dispose of them, but Klyria, being stubborn and forgiving tries to convince him to come back with them and they would help free his friends. But he doesn't want to be hurt anymore and declines, several times until Klyria decides she has to walk away. Later, (yeah theres more!) He thinks he is ready to fight the Queen and steal the necklace she wears, that holds their souls. He is not. DUR DUR DUR! (P.S. I have several races of fairies and elves in different elements and stuff. There is also a race of living dolls, Truly is one of these, meaning he is kinda small) He gets captured, and she would have killed him, but she wanted info on the main characters. So she tortures him for weeks, until he finally tells her, then instead of killing him, cause she knows he wants to die, she just keeps him there, until Klyria and the gang come. She knew where their safe place was, and while she met them there, they barely escaped, and she told them that Truly gladly told her their location. Later they find Truly and he tells them that the Queen tortured him for so long, but they don't believe him, and leave him there instead of helping him escape. He escapes on his own later, and feels betrayed, he knew none of them would have lasted that long before they spilled it. He wanders away, and later crosses paths with them again, free's his friends finally, and dies because of the Queen, because now, if he is alive, he could steal the necklace. He breaks it right before he dies, and Klyira and the gang see all their spirits walk away.
SORRY IT'S LONG!

Sadon was literally stabbed by his boyfriend and nearly died. And lay on the ground, bleeding out, while watching said boyfriend then kill his grandfather. So….

Okay same though. If you're ever wondering who my favourite characters are just figure out who has the most tragic backstory and there you go. There's you're answer.

Myles lived for three million years in a small, white room with only a mirror inside it. Then, when he finally broke free, he got corrupted, which is extremely painful, and he ended up having his head bashed in with a baseball bat.

This is a bit yikes, but everyone is a little hard to kill because their biological composition gives them quite the healing factor, but they suffer grotesque injuries as a result.

Elizabeth: In order to properly handle alchemy, she etched alchemical symbols into the flesh of her back, arms, and facial cheeks. Whenever she casts alchemical magic, she effectively is burning herself and has to endure severe pain if she wants to feel useful in battle.

Crefus: He has horns growing out of his head. That's not the painful part. One of the horns is smaller than the other and he admits that in a fit of extreme depression, he ripped one of his horns off in the hopes that he would bleed out. He tried doing it with his bare claws at first and then used a sharp knife to pry it off his skull after his first few attempts failed.

Hecate: THIS ONE OKAY. So for starters, she nearly tore her throat apart with magic curse acid and threw it up before it could do anymore damage to her. She did not gain any physical disfigurement, but she can no longer taste. At random points when she experimented with magic, she sprouted random limbs from her torso, altering her skeletal structure and muscle mass in a painful way. All the extra limbs were amputated while she was conscious and her bodily systems were repaired with extensive care. Then there was the time she accidentally summoned eye tumors on her body that spread from the outer surface of her skin to the interior layer of her organ linings and that was tricky to deal with. (poor liz has to be her doctor for a majority of these mishaps) And let's get into the time she just casually bursts her own heart. And lived. Because she had a "back up." She's their groups little Rasputin.

Hex: Imagine Hecate, but on steroids and instead of accidentally doing all that stuff she did it on purpose. For starters, she elongated her spine to be about 9 feet long (she was 11 when she did all this, so yeah) and altered her general skeletal structure, specifically her skull, for maximum creepiness. Each tooth had been reformed into a fang, is now about 18 inches in length, and her eyes distort her face viscerally since they're one of the biggest parts of her body. Besides her hands. Or right her hands. So her claws used to be proportional to her body, but she engorged them on extra bone and flesh so they could be bigger and sharper. Her hair is basically just solidified acid. It decays and melts any material ever and blood has also been altered to be dangerous and volatile. And yes, she felt extreme and severe and fatal amounts of pain as she did this to herself, but she was willing to endure all of it just to become a true monster.

Hel: This one is excruciatingly sensitive including death, infant death, and cannibalism
Hel was pregnant with her child when she was hunted down and torn apart. Her ribs were impaled first and when she was thrown to the ground a painful…… removal was performed. Completely obliterated, she helplessly watched as her child was devoured before her very eyes. And then herself. #yikes

I could go on FOREVER but i'll cut it short yeet

Actual serious injuries would go to Jabun.

Jabun tried to steal the three gems from the temple of time, and after the three goddesses caught him and he tried to explain why he did it he was put through many harsh trials, one of them being bamboo torture. Others included drowning, hanging, having to crawl through mud with his legs broken, but he survived all of it and got the title of the Water Spirit. He got to keep one gem, the Zora's sapphire, which later evolved into Nayru's Pearl.

mental pain would go to Jilden.

The fused shadow sucks so much energy and magic out of you that when you use it it feels like your brain is rotting. Jilden has used the fused shadow so many times that it does not bother him anymore, but the first few times using it he felt like he was going to die.

Basically, two bros, chillin in pain, universes apart cause they're not gay

My main human villain, Newt, gets tortured by my protagonist, Leyak. Newt happens to be a porn star, who is also a rapist. He raped another one of my main characters, Iza, maybe a month before the events of the story. Leyak goes to his private townhouse, wearing some pretty scandalous clothing. She knocks on his door and they flirt, he goes to poor a bottle of wine, and then the fun begins. Pretty intense gore ahead, so I would suggest you stop reading if that stuff makes you uncomfortable. Leyak takes Newt to his bedroom and breaks both of his legs, and one of his hands. She repeatedly stabs him in the abdominal area 6 times. After this she cuts shallow wounds all over his torso. She threatens to cut off his man-parts, which causes Newt to beg for mercy. Leyak goes to the garage of the townhouse and grabs a one-handed sledgehammer, which she uses to continue the torture and threats. After about 5 minutes of threats, Leyak removes Newt's pants and uses the sledgehammer to completely mangle his genitals. After this Newt passes out, and Leyak takes him back to her apartment for even more mental torture.

Both physical and mental pain ig, but when the students are trying to break out of the Academy, Tabitha and Eliot get separated from the rest. They're late to the shuttle that Kels is hijacking, and get held up by Pietyr and another one of the guards. Pietyr shoots to stun Tabitha but misses, and the other guard wrestles his gun away from him and actually stuns her. She's the one the Director is after, and so the other guard (who's higher-ranking) orders Pietyr to finish her off. Pietyr can't bring himself to do so, since she's only 17, unconscious, and while not his friend, someone he knew. He hesitates, which a panicked Eliot believes means he's about to lunge, and so Eliot uses his magic gift of compulsion to force Pietyr to stab him instead. He survives, but it's pretty traumatizing for both of them.

Addie had to take on some slightly illegal jobs to earn money, and one of them was running documents between members of what was essentially her planet's city council. One of them, unbeknownst to her, contained highly confidential information, but the wax seal had been poorly applied and came undone while she was smuggling it. The official who received the note was outraged, assuming that Addie read it, and cut out one of her eyes.

Freya and Mizu were part of a death game (think Danganronpa or Your Turn To Die), and they were the first two victims. One of the participants, Jacquelyn, used Freya and Mizu's relationships as a means to kill the two, by asking them if they wanted to be together forever. They both said yes, and Jacquelyn gave them a drink (heavily dosed with several sleeping pills) and waited for them to pass out. In the building they were trapped in, there was an empty white room (aptly named "The Empty Room"), which Jacquelyn dragged the unconscious boys into, and started performing a procedure to sew them together. Jacquelyn has experience in the medical field, but not enough to perform a dramatic procedure like the one she was performing, so Freya and Mizu died while they were still passed out completely.

This is by far the most tragic death in my story so far, though it's still in the process so there may be more to come.

@ZephirFox8812

(Both from different stories)

Mitch: Was paralysed waist down in a car crash, from the same crash he also went partially blind and lost a bit of function in his hands

Showtime: Was attacked brutally by one of his superiors and could do nothing to fight back. He ended with several broken bones, stab wounds and internal bleeding. He was then forced to overdose on a drug called Vulture Smoke, an inhaled drug that causes the user to stop feeling pain and to basically go beserk until it wears off. Showtime has issues with breathing, intense migranes, seizures and hallucinations because of this

Nightshade: He's a Nargacuga from the Monster Hunter series. Basically a hunter tried to kill him and he ended up getting sliced right across the tail. There's a scar on it from the encounter. He's also missing pieces of wings, etc.
Stormchaser: Tobi-Kadachi from the Monster Hunter series. He was stabbed in the flank by a hunter, but he survived.
Phoenixwing: She was sliced across her left eye in battle and has a scar from it. I also plan for her to have one of her wings ripped off sometime in the future lmao

@GoodThingGoing group

Tabitha breaks off her own hand in order to escape captivity. It's really not her best idea and it's absolutely horrifying but that's Tabitha for you.
After Pietyr stabs Eliot, Kels lunges at Pietyr and attacks him, ramming the pointed tip of her staff through his knee.

Canarie: She believes she caused her family's deaths (her father drowned while trying to save her from a river, bringing an incense to her home which weakened her mother to death [she didn't know of its toxic properties], and having an argument with her brother which led to him to going to a mine that collapsed and trapped him inside) and the trauma made her forcibly seal away her memories and develop dissociative amnesia. It's psychologically the worst things that ever happened to her and she doesn't even remember them.
Physically, she lost her eye, had her stomach slashed to the point her insides almost spilled out. Also she cut her own throat so she would be able to breathe. All in the same fight.
(After the battle, andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) used his smoke ability put her body in a state similar to cryoperservation so she wouldn't die.)

andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer): His soul and sense of identity was slowly being eaten away by the Blot, in other words, he was slowly becoming a husk and destined to become a Doll after his death. He was caught up in a mine explosion and, fortunately, got minor burns and non-fatal injuries, so he at least had a chance of survival. When the Enforcers came in through a portal, andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) thought he was being saved, but his hopes were shattered when they started stabbing and bludgeoning him. Then they had his chest cut open and put inside the Death Doll's core and continued the torture. Worst part is that they had the audacity to tell him not to hate them too much for what they're doing. They knew he was conscious throughout the whole thing (he started out screaming in agony to muttering things under his breath because he was tired), yet still continued until they took notice that the toxic and inflamattory fumes would cover up their tracks. The Enforcers left through the portal where they came from as if nothing happened. andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) died slowly and painfully from his wounds and suffocation.

It was hinted that something foul was at play with andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)'s death, because most Dolls remember their deaths as humans which plays a part in how they act, but andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) literally has no memory from his death. Which means that something horrifying happened to him that caused him to not being able to remember. It was assumed that he died from the suffocation and explosion burns, so no one believed that anything more than that could've happened. The Enforcers got off scot-free.

It doesn't end there, though. When andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) "reawakened" in a berserk state, Canarie struck him with his own pickaxe in self defense and left him with his face split apart, which is why he has that stitch scar across his face. andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) also doesn't remember that incident.

It was later revealed that those Enforcers were sent by the main antagonist, the Puppetmaster, to give the Death Doll's core to a new host, which so happened to be andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer). They were ordered to give the host a brutal and agonizing death because the Puppetmaster had a personal grudge towards the Death Doll's mother, Lady Death, who was connected to the core. She could feel everything the host felt, which caused her to go where he was and unexpectedly instead found the twins. And That's where the plot starts to kick off.

Almost every single character goes through something traumatic but I think the twins have it worse.

Rin: Discovers her grandfather's dead body, Canarie's fatally injured body, and basically an entire team of fighters dead. She also notices Leo and andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) are nowhere to be found. Physically, she doesn't suffer a lot, but was once kidnapped by some Dolls who wanted to lure out andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) (the Death Doll). Oh, and in that specific arc, she finds out that andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)'s a Doll when she discovers him in a crucified position with his limbs detached from his body and a stake through his heart and head.

I'll probably update this later www
