Djinn

Djinn close

Djinn are spirit like beings, often (though not always) found in hotter climates. Their magic is usually elemental in nature, with aer and pyre affinities being most common. A historically persecuted group, some Djinn have found themselves forcibly bound in service to wealthy families for eons, though others will enter into contracts willingly with beings, though for a price.

Dryads

Dryads close

Dryads are beings that can inhabit plant and humanoid forms (or a mixture of the two) and are found in nearly every kingdom of Inspera (apart from Findius). Most often of the terre affinity, itʼs not unheard of that a Dryad may also be found under sol or even lune at times, depending usually on where they live, and their familyʼs connection. Theyʼre often relatively reclusive, preferring to keep to themselves and ...

Dwarf

Dwarf close

Short, though strong, Dwarves tend to rely more on their physical strength over their magical abilities, though all affinities are possible. It is rarer to find a Dwarf with a sol affinity however.

Elves

Elves close

Elves are likely the most human-like creatures to inhabit Inspera, with their defining sharp ears and slight builds, albeit generally taller than most creatures. Found across all kingdoms and affinities, they are also the most versatile in terms of magical ability. Their physical abilities lend them an edge in battle, pushing the majority of the Elven population to reside in Findius. Elves also display greater div...

Human

Human close

Apart from the apprentices on the Isle of Lore, no humans exist in Inspera. Or, none that would admit to being so. Itʼs unlikely that with past relationships and connections Insperanʼs had to the surface world, that the children of those relationships would have disappeared entirely, but again, no one would dare say they had a human in their family tree with the current state of the unrest in the kingdoms.

Merfolk

Merfolk close

Merfolk is a fairly broad categorization which include a number of different cities across Insperaʼs waters. Nearly all find themselves with Fluvian affinities in their magic use, though itʼs not unheard of that a Mer might be born under lune as well. Often left out of political conversations, they often view their realm as a kingdom onto itself, even if they do swear fealty to the monarchʼs of whatever boundary t...

Minotaurs close

Minotaurs are a relatively small group of beings. Known for their physical prowess, few Minotaurs ever use their magical abilities in public and there is strong social pressure among Minotaur family to not do so in private either. Still, many Minotaurs find themselves among the terre affinity, though no affinity is unheard of. Primarily residing in the kingdom of Findius, their are enclaves of Minotaurs in other k...

Selkie

Selkie close

Selkieʼs are adept at walking in "two worlds" as theyʼre able to shift in form from a completely humanoid one, to a completely sea-being one with relative ease. They do, however, need to maintain possession of their magical "skin" which is understandably something they fiercely guard at all times. As most Selkieʼs sea form is that of a seal, they are found primarily within the kingdom of Findiusʼs boarders, as the...

Sylphs

Sylphs close

A spirit being, Sylphs are found across Inspera. Able to shift forms from that of a humanoid (albeit very wispy) being to a disembodied wind, Sylphs tend to roam across the continent. They also tend to be a bit...nosier than some of the other beings in Inspera, helped by the ability to be nearly invisible should the so choose.

Unicorn

Unicorn close

There are precious few Unicorn beings in Inspera, though lore has it that that wasnʼt always the case. Capable of shifting their form from that of a large horse like creature with a giant horn to that of a humanoid, itʼs the horn that never changes. It is also the horn that is likely the cause of so few of them remaining, as lore also has that the horn alone can enhance any magic users magical ability tenfold. Und...
