@Mojack group

Had a small idea that took inspiration from dating simulators, so I decided to make a RP about it.

In this RP, you play a character who has ended up on the wrong side of the law. According to most people, anyways. You also have superpowers. Like most people in this world. Although most powers rank up on the minor scale of things, you like to consider yourself above minor powers, but you have to acknowledge by far, you aren’t the strongest in this world.
You’re a criminal - but you’re not a major one. Also debatable if you’re truly evil - you might have some good ideas, you might have strong morals.

One thing leads to another, and soon, you end up in a case far bigger than yourself. In fact, you soon end up entangled with some of the world’s famous and/or strongest heroes. Actually, vigilantes may be a better word to describe some of them.
Someone is planning to destroy the world. Again. Except this time, it’s a little more serious. And this time, you’re involved in it - whether you like it or not.

Basically - your character, a criminal meets up with a group of people who are attempting to solve a case. They’re almost detectives, actually. Conquering one of their biggest cases yet. Now, I should mention: you can also romance them. Or be friends. Or enemies.

But Mojack, this is a one on one! Who’s going to play the group?

Well, I will. I’ll be playing a group of characters, some more questionable than others. They’ll all have their backgrounds, their personalities, their relationships with other characters, their abilities, etc. Due to that, there won’t be a super big template for this RP, since I’ll be having quite a few characters.

Some things to take note of:

  • my characters will have their own relationships with each other, of varying degrees. Some will dislike one another, others may like, and you might find the occasional hookup.
  • you can romance multiple characters at once, but whether the specific characters may be fine with that depends. There will be some poly characters, but I will not outright state who. It’ll be a find out in rp type deal.
  • characters can die. Not right at the beginning, of course. But they can die.
  • not every character will be available to romance, depending on who you are as a character. I mean this more sexuality wise.
  • Can i romance the robot? hell yeah.
  • Can i romance the Eldritch entity taking a human form? hell yeah.
  • Can i romance the girl who can read my thoughts before I even act them out? this relationship may be complicated…but yeah
  • All people with powers heal faster than people who don’t have them, but some powered people might heal better than others.
  • Most of the world has powers - it’s considered odd to be born without them. Still, most people are in the minor range of powers - in which case, they can’t really blow up buildings or take down someone effortlessly with them.

And the rules:

  1. Do not autohit, but don’t dodge everything either. Play to your strengths, but remember your weaknesses.
  2. This will probably be a mature RP in terms of violence n blood. Though there’s a time and place for those two.
  3. And as always, swear to your heart’s desire!
  4. Ask questions as needed. I’ll be pleased to answer.
  5. Response time may vary, from same day to several days later. Please keep that in mind!
  6. Absolutely no one liners. I’ll swing you into the sun if you do one even though you’ve read this rule
  7. Please try to have good grammar/punctuation!
  8. Say the sexytimes somehow happen in this, it’ll probably be a fade to black sort of thing. Sorry. I’m not good at writing that stuff, nor am I extremely fond of reading it.
  9. If you have any ideas for this..let me know.
  10. This list may change (most likely won’t, but I always mention this just in case).

Ask before joining! If I do not recall your style, I will ask for a sample.

TEMPLATE

Name:
Aliases: (If any)
Gender/pronouns:

——
And now.. our lovely cast of characters.

THE CAST

Name: [CLASSIFIED]
Aliases: Echo
Gender/pronouns: Trans male, he/him.
Sexuality: Homosexual.
Age: 22
Brief introduction: Echo is one of the newest members to the team, but by far, has proven himself to be a very important part of it. Echo may not offer much in a physical fight, but in a battle of brains - Echo is the backbone of it all, the masterful genius. He’s softspoken, a little distant, but can be extremely ruthless in battle.
Powers: Teleportation/portal creation (limited to the planet he’s currently on, cannot teleport from planet to planet); genius intellect

Name: “There’s a huge problem with me telling you my real name - it’s unpronounceable in your tongue. That’s kind of the problem there, isn’t it? Oh, and I can’t write it down, either. I guess you can just call me Kennedy. Kennedy Bones.”
Aliases: “Just call me Bones when we’re..y’know, on the job.”
Gender/pronouns: Agender (any pronouns, commonly uses she/her)
Sexuality: Asexual panromantic
Age: ???
Brief introduction: “Hiya! My name’s Bones. I’m kind of new to this introduction stuff..sorry if I mess up. I’m also new to this planet. It’s really neat here - how many powered people there are! I didn’t even realize humans could have those things. Anyways..”
Powers: Dimension hopping (as long as he knows where to go, she’s capable of doing it fluidly, as it comes naturally). Shapeshifting and voice mimicking.

Name: Radisa [LAST NAME CLASSIFIED]
Aliases: Shadowstalker, Stalker
Gender/pronouns: Cismale, he/him
Sexuality: Bisexual (female lean)
Age: 27
Brief introduction: Radisa lives a complicated life. It gets more complicated when you realize he doesn’t remember a good portion of it. Memory wiping, you know? Although one of the older members on the team by age, he’s a relatively recent addition. He’s also become more inactive as of late - probably because he has children. It ain’t easy being a single father.
Powers: Possesses the ability to hide in the shadows, becoming nearly undetectable - can also shapeshift into a shadowy monster.

Name: “No chance of you getting my name!”
Aliases: Thrillseeker
Gender/pronouns: Demiboy (he/they)
Sexuality: Pansexual
Age: 21
Brief introduction: Thrillseeker just turned twenty one, making him one of the youngest members on the team. They live up to their alias - seeking thrills, he’s a big risk taker. They’re incredibly unpredictable, but also loyal and protective of their friends. Notably, he’s made a close friend of Bones.
Powers: Immunity to fire; pyrokinesis.

Name: Simone Alard
Aliases: Sight Seer
Gender/pronouns: Transwoman (she/her)
Sexuality: Asexual biromantic
Age: 24
Brief introduction: “My powers are not a thing I can turn off. Growing up, people considered me a wonder child. I was gifted, in their eyes. I may have been, even without my abilities - but they were what truly enabled my success in education.” Simone is a distant and reserved person. Her abilities have made her that way - she remains hesitant to form longing connections with others, loosely associating herself with the team.
Powers: Clairvoyant: she can see things before they happen. She is also capable of transporting herself through non living objects.

Name: KR-15
Aliases: N/A
Gender/pronouns: Programmed male. He/him.
Sexuality: Undecided.
Age: 23
Brief introduction: For a robot, KR-15 has quite the personality, although he may not understand human customs and social behaviours at times, and could come off as blunt or hurtful. He doesn’t really do it on purpose.
Powers: He’s a robot. What else?

Name: Kr'Yerixtl Rotai ”Please..just call me Oli, okay?”
Aliases: Acid
Gender/pronouns: …complicated. Uses he/him pronouns, as of now.
Sexuality: Pansexual
Age: 22
Brief introduction: Oli is one of the many aliens hiding out on Earth - although the existence of aliens is known, so learning about him shouldn’t surprise you…that much, anyways. As long as you don’t learn too much about his species, you should be fine. One of the newest members of the team. He’s a sly one - be careful.
Powers: To an extent, can hide true form via shifting into a human. Although..hasn’t perfected human form. Alien abilities - includes acid spit, regrowth of limbs, and more. Not instant regrowth, though.

Of course! Any questions?

What is this world like? What are the "rules" of it? And exactly how much peril would my character be in?

@Mojack group

Of course! Any questions?

What is this world like? What are the "rules" of it? And exactly how much peril would my character be in?

Well, it’s a world where most people have been born with special abilities (that we might know as superpowers, although it’s debatable if everyone who has them could be considered ‘super’). Superpowers have always happened in the history of this world, but they’ve only become more common to the point where it can be considered that 3/4ths of the world’s population can be considered ‘powered’. At this point, if you’re not born with any sort of ability, no matter how minor it is, you’d be considered abnormal.

There’s aliens and a whole bunch of them too, and they exist, but it’s not common knowledge outside of powered folk. Even then, your average Powered person isn’t gonna know about the whole intergalactic situation (essentially, of the cast I listed, the only four likely to be knowledgeable on it is Echo, Bones, KR-15 and Oli).
It can be a gritty world at times, not everything always goes perfectly. Things happen, fail, succeed, etc.
When it comes to powers…
Things such as replacing someone’s bones with straws or their blood with syrup by the snap of your fingers isn’t really possible. I mean, it might be possible via other means - other lengthier means. Powers all have their drawbacks, and certain abilities can only be used under certain situations (such as an ability that can be only used near death). On average, most people have two powers. People with ‘minor’ abilities (minor abilities make up most of the Powered population) usually only have one, but minor abilities aren’t completely useless either.
Powered people heal faster than non powered people, and at different rates depending on certain factors. Example; Acid would heal faster than Simone, given his alien origins. He would also be capable of regenerating limbs. However, most Powered have a limit to how much they can take, and most people can’t survive having vital organs destroyed.

As for peril…
I guess it depends on your situation at the time. The whole plot of someone taking over the world will come when it comes, but it’s not going to be instant sort of thing. It takes resources to taking over the world, fellas. And resources take time.
This world is a bit riskier than most, and it’s probably one people wouldn’t really want to live in - meaning non Powered people are pretty much reliant on the protection of Powered.
So while your character will be Powered, it would still be wise to be in numbers and form alliances - even my most independent characters of the cast understand that any day, someone super strong could come along and fling them into a mountain.

Basically: you begin life as a minor criminal, not well known, therefore not really at much risk unless you get caught (and that depends on who’s catching you). Then, once you start associating with these characters (and depending on who you get closer to) your character’s life is probably going to become a bit more dangerous.

Alrighty! Let's begin then, I'll make my character!

Deleted user

Name: Hannah Lee
Aliases: Lungs
Gender/pronouns: Nonbinary man/demiboy, he/they
Sexuality: Pansexual
Age: 24

Brief introduction: "Uh, hey. So I guess this is me. I'm something of a legend where I'm from. Petty crime in the name of derailing the government or some shit? Really I was just trying to stop an uprising in my home town… I can't believe it went so wrong. Uh, yeah. I… hope you don't mind me crying? Yeah, I killed a guy. He wanted to destroy all non-powereds, said they were leeches off of those with special abilities. And I killed him? Turns out patricide is illegal, so I had to skip town. I dunno why I'm telling you this… I guess I just needed someone to vent to."
Powers: Can control air, can store a near-infinite amount of air in their lungs.

@Mojack group

”It’s a really good thing Thrillseeker isn’t out here tonight.”
“Why is that? Is it because they are incredibly reckless and their actions have often resulted in causing endangerment? Endangerment that could have been prevented, had he followed the orders?”
“I was going to say the fact it’s one of his family members that we’re..”
“You attempt to redirect the conversation, yet your tone tells me you agree with me. To what extent, I do not know.”
“Oh come on KR-15, that was a little harsh.

KR-15 and Bones stood together, keeping watch for the target. The target of which wouldn’t be that hard to miss. Firebomb, much like his younger sibling had inherited heat related abilities, albeit his related more to volcanoes. There had already been a battle before, a battle that had done some damage to the area - small bits of fire lit up the dark area, as well as debris scattered on the ground. Bones just didn’t know how someone so bright could vanish into thin air. She brushed her dark red hair from her eyes, leaning forwards from her corner as she tried to inspect the area.
“I do not understand how that was harsh. I only speak from my observations, working on this team.”

Choosing to ignore the robot’s comment, Bones asked a question. “Can you see where he went..? Any scans at all? I’m getting real bored.”
“This model does not have the scanner.”
“Oh, great. You left it back at the base, didn’t you? I thought you were smarter than that.”
“I cannot predict the future, and thus I am subject to make mistakes. Unlike Sight Seer, who would surely be miles more useful than you on this job.”
“Oh, shut up, you pile of junk.”
“Incorrect terminology. I am not a pile, nor am I junk.”
“You…”

Bones stiffened as their transmitter came to life - the even voice of Echo breaking through.
”Play nice, the both of you. Remember the job: incapacitate Firebomb, so that he can be imprisoned once more.”
“But isn’t he just gonna escape..again? Like the last time? Listen, I hate to admit it, but you humans really gotta work on your prisons. This guy has escaped so many times. Like, just move him to a fire proof prison at this point. Instead of bringing him back to the exact same one.”
“I hate to agree with them, but they’re right.” KR-15 stated, receiving a look from Bones. Light green eyes met a singular yellow scanner that served as his eye.
”We can’t control what the government does, how they run things. To them, we’re just ants on the big picture.”
“Remind me again why we’re working for them?”
”Balance of trust. We tend to do things they don’t like, so sometimes, you have to do a few favours to ensure you’re still on the ‘good’ side of things.”
“Ohh, so it’s a-“
“Wait.” KR-15 caused both to fall silent. Although Echo had remained neutral throughout the ordeal, there was a slightly annoyed tone to his voice, though it could be marked up to the fact it was late - very late, and he’d much rather be resting.
The bits of the road seemed to bubble up, steam rising - before bits of magma came through. What rose from the rock was humanoid in appearance, but there was no mistaking it - Firebomb had returned to the sight of the crime. Coated in a thick suit of hot magma to add to it. The ‘magma creature’ looked around, before strolling off to the store - the very store they had caught him at before.
Echo fell silent, presumably to let the two finish their work.

“Better be careful, junk pile. I heard heat doesn’t mix well with metal.” Bones commented, before leaping away, into the literal heat of battle.
KR-15 seemed to sigh. “I am made of more durable materials. It will not be easy for him to…oh, you’re gone.”
Utilizing their shapeshifting abilities, Bones allowed themselves to become the lava monster. They couldn’t maintain the same abilities for long, but it would hopefully provide KR-15 enough time to charge up and enact the plan.
Firebomb hasn’t expected to meet essentially what looked to him at the time, a clone of himself. His expression wasn’t visible, but he did falter - only briefly though, meeting arms with Bones as the two began to vie for triumph over the other. To his surprise, the other seemed to be mimicking what he was doing, however Firebomb came to the realization that they weren’t as strong as him.
”You were a fool to come out here tonight,” Firebomb growled, pushing against what seemed to be a near mirror of himself.
“And you were a fool to break out of prison.” Firebomb almost faltered when his copy was seemingly able to mimic his low voice. “Again.” Although, it was spoken more tauntingly.

The two battled in the streets for some time, all while KR-15 prepared something that would hopefully knock Firebomb out of the scene for a while. The lanky robot brought forth canisters, and they were ready: but it came down to finding the right moment to throw them. And of course, figuring out which one was Bones. It shouldn’t be that hard - she was able to shapeshift into her foes and temporarily mimic their abilities and voice, but she couldn’t instantly understand their fighting style. Come to think of it - Bones didn’t really have much of a style when it came to fighting. She was more wild in that manner. And besides - voice mimicking aside, both beings spoke differently either. Firebomb was somewhat more grounded, while Bones didn’t even try to keep sarcasm from dripping out of their tone.

Only one canister should be needed, but KR-15 had three more just in case. They weren’t lethal weaponry - KR-15 didn’t want to kill Firebomb, and as rocky as their relationship was, Thrillseeker probably wouldn’t appreciate it.
KR-15 watched the two exchange blows for some time. Studying both entities, trying to figure out who’s who. It wasn’t hard, like he’d figured out before. Bones didn’t hesitate to throw some sass at their opponent, but Firebomb seemed eager enough to respond with his own defences. Looks like it ran in the family.
The canister hissed as KR-15 lightly squeezed it. It was light - seemingly, it appeared to hold nothing, but KR-15 knew better. He’d developed these himself, alongside Echo. “Now!”

Bones pulled away from the fight, and in that moment, KR-15 could clearly see who was who. Firebomb seemed to push forwards in an offensive maneuver, hoping to continue the fight - only to see a canister flying through the air last second, producing some sort of…mist?
Firebomb realized what it was as his body temperature cooled down considerably. “Wait, no, no..” But with his focus on the fight, he didn’t pay enough attention to what was going on in the sidelines. The suit of magma dropped itself, as Firebomb - weakened - passed out. The empty canister dropped to the ground shortly after.

“Hm. You knew who was who, right?”
KR-15 gave Bones a look. Despite being incapable of human expression, he almost seemed to look annoyed. “I was studying the both of you that entire time. And you’re not a very good actor, either. Also, please stop talking like that.”
Bones chuckled, reverting back to their normal voice - and form.
Moments later, a flash of bright yellow light came from the corner KR-15 and Bones had been previously hiding at. Echo emerged from the alleyway, peering at the scene around - spotting Firebomb, on the ground, knocked out. Echo gave a nod.
“That took a little longer than I expected, but good work, you two. I’ll transport him back as soon as possible.”
Bones nodded, looking into the star filled night sky. The battle had taken place in the quieter side of the city - aka, the very edge of it. Some people had probably heard the conflict - this part wasn’t completely empty, after all. But there wasn’t really a need to keep it down low, in a world where powers were the norm.
“It doesn’t make sense.”

“Hm?” Echo said, without looking at KR-15 as he prepared to transport Firebomb.
“Firebomb is a merc. He works for other people, he wouldn’t go out after something so…random.” So meaningless, were the unsaid words, as the grey robot glanced towards the store, the door busted open and the glass windows shattered. It was a small, irrelevant store - or seemingly irrelevant. KR-15 made a note to look into it.

“You’re right,” Echo responded, after a moment, his expression unreadable under his mask. “It is odd. We’ll get to investigating as soon as possible - I’m sure Firebomb will be interrogated if needed.” Something told KR-15 Echo didn’t seem to take it to the same level of seriousness that he was. “But it’s late. Do either of you need to be transported?”

“Mm, we’re both fine. We’ll probably just drop by the base..” Bones drawled, turning towards the others. They had been staring at the stars for a while in silence - sometimes, KR-15 wondered if they genuinely missed their home, wherever that was - or they just enjoyed staring at the sky.
“Alright. Both of you- see you soon.” In another flash of light, Echo was gone, taking Firebomb with him.

Bones and KR-15 stood in silence together, but Bones broke the silence. “So. Walk together?”
KR-15 seemed to internally debate it. “Sure.”
“Alright!” Bones pumped their fist into the air - KR-15 cast them a tired look, watching them walk ahead. KR-15 joined them shortly after, taking long strides - not much to catch up.

(Okay wait I have no idea what’s going on. How will our characters meet again?)

@Mojack group

((Uhh your character could have been witness to the fight between Bones + KR-15 and Firebomb, or they could have been doing something nearby and the two will run into eachother through that.))

Deleted user

(Oh alright okay. Also does my post have to be, like… as long as yours? Or can I do long, but significantly shorter than that because no offense but you’re reallly good at writing and it’s a little intimidating.)

@Mojack group

((No lol, definitely doesn’t have to be as long as mine. My posts are only going to be long because of how many characters I play, so you definitely don’t have to do a long post like I did. Thanks by the way!))

Hannah strode down the highway, shoes nearly worn through and feet absolutely aching. He stopped when a car slowed down to presumably offer him a lift, and he sighed. He had a brief exchange with the driver, trying to come off as incredibly rude and succeeding. He continued to walk down the road, as the driver and her passengers-presumably some drunken sorority girls out for a time in town-flipped him off. He stopped at the nearest exit, examining the sign some and then moving forward, to the diner advertised on a sign down the road. He reached the diner, and opened up the door, counting the change in his pockets to see if he had enough excuse to sit here for a few hours before moving on.

He did. Hannah ordered a 99-cent burger and a water (the water was free) and sat down at a table in the corner, waiting for the server to call his name so he could pick up his food and proceed to ignore it for as long as he could without it going bad. He'd eat it, then get going. He shouldn't stay for too long-too dangerous. That and someone might recognize him. That would be a problem.

@Mojack group

Bones and KR-15 strode down the dimly lit road for some time. The two exchanged in conversation - Bones of course, was the one to lead, although that didn’t mean KR-15 didn’t have his fair share of things to say either.
“Do you mind?”
“Hm?” KR-15 stopped, realizing that Bones was now behind him. He glanced at them - their head turned the other way, they were looking at something else.
“Oh, you weren’t even listening, were you?”
“I..” KR-15 faltered. “No, I wasn’t. Apologies. What was that again?”

“Okay.” Bones sighed, then proceed to repeat what they had been saying - the things that KR-15 apparently hadn’t heard. They didn’t even realize that a robot could..do that.
“Do you mind if we stop by that place? It won’t be long, I know it’s late, I know you’re tired…” Their voice drifted off, into a more mocking tone.
“I do not need sleep,” he deadpanned, “and technically, you don’t either.”
“Hmph!” Bones hummed, crossing their arms. “No need to blast the truth like that!”
“You admit that I am right?”
“Well, yeah. Don’t tell anyone though. It’s our little secret.”
KR-15 sighed, but crossed his arms - mirroring Bones. If the robot could smile - or in this case, smirk, he would have. “Fine, fine. We’ll stop a little.”
Bones grinned. “I knew there was a reason why you’re one of my favourites to work with. Aside from Acid and Thrillseeker, of course.”
Makes sense. KR-15 thought, watching his partner leave on short journey to the diner. KR-15 joined them shortly after, trailing behind. The two walked through the grass - KR-15 briefly glanced behind him, staring into the main city he could see in the distance. He brushed some dirt from his forearms, then continued forwards.

What do you do, when a 5’10” individual and their 6’5” robot companion enter a diner?

Surprisingly, or maybe unsurprisingly in this case; most people did not bat an eye. The robot may have been unusual to some, even intimidating, but there were a bunch of interesting looking people all around the place, some appearances who were wildly inhuman as a result of their powers. Thus, a robot was perhaps one of the tamer cases.
Though it didn’t stop some from peering over as the two took a seat in their own booth by the window.

“What do you think you’ll get?”
“Is that some sort of joke?” KR-15 questioned, mindfully dimming his singular eye so that it didn’t instantly blind (exaggeration) anyone who looked at him up close.
“Wow. So clever of you to figure out that was a joke.” Their voice fell flat as they peered into the menu, deciding just to order some fries and chocolate milk. When the waiter came around, they ordered.

Hannah looked up. The table the newcomers had seated themself at was just across from them, and they were intrigued by the conversation at hand. He knew he didn't have time to eavesdrop, but he couldn't help it, it was just his nature. Hannah took a slow, careful bite into his burger, chewing it slowly and watching the two like a hawk. The food was terrible, but the conversation probably wouldn't be if they listened carefully enough. And even if it was risky, it would at least give them some clues as to what was happening in the outside world since they went on the run.
