Did your favorite book or series get the PJO movie treatment? Which adaptations would you like to see remade, either as a movie or tv show/mini series?

Mine would be:

  • Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children (just the first three books as a movie trilogy)
  • The Spiderwick Chronicles (one or two season mini series. jamming five books into one movie? no)
  • The City Of Ember (movie trilogy. as the prequel book really doesn't have enough plot for a whole movie)
  • Inkheart (a mini series this time because there is sooo much lore we need to explore)
  • Artemis Fowl (as multiple movies. I just want it to be the next harry potter, okay?)

Outsiders. I might not have that same charm but I really want to see a remake of it.

I actually have a storyline for a series directly inspired by the movie, its about Ponyboys grandson and his friend running from the law and trying to track down his grandfather :3

  • Eragon I'm not super into this series anymore, but I'm still mad about the adaptation. They really did the book dirty :/
  • Maximum Ride For anyone about about to comment that they had no idea that this movie even existed, there's a reason for that and the reason is that it's terrible. Tons of stuff was cut out, the characters have no personality, plus there's so much bad CGI. It's like they didn't even try to make it a good movie. Everything is just so terrible.
  • Slaughterhouse Five Not that the adaptation is all that bad, but it came out in like the 70s and it sure is a product of its time. I'd just like to see like, the exact same thing only with the movie technology that we have today. It's good for a movie that came out in the 70s, but idk, I feel like it deserves better, y'know?

I feel like I'm missing a few, but I guess I also agree with Miss Peregrine and Inkheart.

Literally I would like to see League of Extraordinary Gentlemen remade to have a book accurate Frankenstein’s monster in it reluctantly helping the crew to atone for his sins or shit idk maybe a redo of the Twilight movies but it’s gay at least that would be funnier than the original movies were.

  • Book accurate Frankenstein please. I want to see the Creature like he is in the book as opposed to a big green dude
  • I don't want a remake of them, but I do wish that the later Harry Potter movies had been more accurate. The Half-Blood Prince is my favorite (maybe) of the series but the movie sucked, they cut out a lot of what interested me
  • Should've had Mockingjay be one movie, there wasn't enough there for two (seriously!! Deathly Hallows and Breaking Dawn are like twice as long! That's why they needed to be split in two Or "needed", in BD's case). Also I'd love an R/MA-rated Hunger Games movie or TV series that doesn't shy away from the horrific aspects or tone them down, but also isn't exploitatively gory
  • Taming of the Shrew movie that plays it as a psychological horror and not a comedy
  • As You Like It movie PLEASE I am BEGGING you-
  • A Dorian Gray movie that doesn't cut the gay subtext like the original movie but also doesn't do the weird plot changes and CGI jumpscare shit of the new one
  • There's a whole list I have of movies I'd love to see adapted and how but that's not the question here sdfsfds

Thanks lmao, I try
OH also I want an accurate Westing Game movie. They tried one but it's like…a comedy I think? and I want one that follows the book more. Actually on second thought it might be better as a miniseries

Ugh I'm tentatively excited for the Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue adaptation bc I adore the book but it's being produced by the Riverdale producer :(
If they pull a Jughead and make Felicity allo (she's canonically aro-ace) I am going to scream

I'd watch this!! The Westing Game was one of my favorite books for a while, and to see a good show made from it would make me so happy!

Gentleman's Guide is one of my favourite series of all times and if the adaptation is bad I'll actually riot. I'm ok with small differences, because realistically, not everything is going to make it into an adaptation. But the rep is part of what makes this series really good, and it's so important.
I was going to say I'm pretty sure that the same guy also directed Love, Simon, which was pretty good. But then I remembered that they totally left out the fact that one of the characters was bisexual, so seems to be a trend with this guy 🙃

I will absolutely riot with you
Was Leah canonically bisexual when Love, Simon was released? I haven't read or watched it but iirc Leah being bi was only confirmed in Leah on the Offbeat but I don't remember which came first.

I feel like Leah on the Offbeat came after the movie, but I was actually talking about Cal. It wasn't really a big thing in the books, but there was still a part where he told Simon that he was bi.

Oh wait, really? Yeah that's pretty shitty to cut from the movie.
