I could use a bit of RP practice, people. I just want something casual. You don't need to be on regularly, but it would help if you were. (Seriously, it would help) I have no fucking idea what this'll be about. And if you could kindly provide me with a character template, that would be fan-tastic!

@saor_illust school

HI OMG. i've been wanting to write SO BADLY lately but like. hhn.. i dont have any rps to write!!

!!! i work best with like. rp prompts if you're cool with that ^^

Deleted user

Hi! I remember you waaaay back when I first came here and had any shred of sanity left! You are an a m a z i n g writer btw, I hope you know that!

I grin, then think for a moment Hmmmm. . . murder investigator trying to find a mass murderer and ends up falling for the genocider and goes just as batshit crazy as our friendly little murder thingie person! Btw, I'd like to be the murderer if that's okay. And supernatural/fantasy creatures/entities are very allowed.

@saor_illust school

HAHHAHAHA OMG WAIT YOU REMEMBER ME????
i'm honoured hahah thank youu!!!

OOOO that sounds so interesting!! only issue is i don't know how well i'd be able to carry out the actual role of murder investigator and carry it into writing, as i haven't the slightest clue how they work/function, and i'd be too anxious to mention potential key details in the writing unless i've checked beforehand :')

Deleted user

I grin Of course I remember you. There is, of course, no need to feel honored, m'lady. I am not an Ancient of this site. Really, I'm nobody to most. But I'm glad you think highly enough of me to feel honored.

I grin 'Tis a simple job, indeed, to be a murder investigator. One must find evidence and use that to track down whomever commited that heinous act.

@saor_illust school

ya. would like. you drop things that ur character would do maybe (as a narrator ofc) so that i can know what things they would do that give clues or no?
(idk if that makes sense omg;;)

Deleted user

I laugh What would the point be if I didn't? Don't worry about those little details right now though. I promise, your detective will be able to figure shit out. For now, let's get that character sheet.

@saor_illust school

I grin You're always so enthusiastic and I love that. Keep being you, hun.

And thank you! Not bad for a character that didn't exist 'til an hour beforehand, no?

@saor_illust school

Name: Emily Hawkins

Nickname(s): Em (please don't call her that she hates nicknames unless she grows to adore it as she falls for this fae here while he teases her with the nickname? jkjk.. unlesss…?)

Age: 26

Gender: masculine presenting female (she/he/they; Emily doesn't really care what pronouns you use for her. just no neopronouns please. oh!! and no need to switch pronouns while in rp if you'd like. you can just refer to him whatever Jona perceives her pronouns to be. to her co-workers, just she/her because explaining her pronouns is too tiring an idea.)

Romantic/Sexual Orientation: bi (both ways)

Species: Human!! Raised by her single father, a gnome who goes by Zander

Appearance: Emily has short, brown hair which ends no more than two inches below her chin, and hazy green eyes. At 5'7, she's already taller than most women her age, but he only weighs 125 pounds. Their breasts are usually bound, so they aren't really noticeable to the untrained eye. As a masculine presenting woman, her standard attire consists of a long suit blazer (ends about five inches above the knee), a tucked t-shirt, loose trousers with a belt, and a pair of black, mid-calf combat boots. The colours of the outfit doesn't really matter much to him, he only really cares enough if the colours look good together. On warmer days, Emily can be found wearing a loose collared blouse and high waist trousers with her boots. Although they aren't always a white blouse and black trousers, she usually prefers those colours.

Personality: As a child, Emily was raised to "work hard, live well." However, since she rarely got any praise for her achievements outside of schoolwork and academics, he often works late hours and overtime in order to feel a sense of accomplishment. Their hard work isn't all in vain, though. After a late night's work, she'll either go to the bar or head out to a nice restaurant to treat herself. After all, a hard day's work deserves a good reward. As a homicide investigator, she often sees a lot of gory material. But it doesn't phase her – in fact, she loves her work! He's easy to frustrate, though – Jona especially is very frustrating – he prides himself on how good at her job they are, but when it proves especially difficult to catch and put behind bars, that gets on Emily's nerves.

Other:
- Although Zander is an avid enjoyer of alcohol, he usually remains his usual self even while in a drunkened state. Rather, getting drunk tends to make his moods more dramatic. It's a good thing he prefers keeping his anger locked inside, or Emily may not have had as good a childhood as she did…
- Image refs: (appearance/first outfit listed) (second outfit listed) (general vibe of the boots)

I laugh Jona's going to have so much fun with him. I almost feel bad for him - almost.

@saor_illust school

Deleted user

Indeed!

Hmmm. . . I'll remember that.

Now, I'm just going to get a starter ready!

Jona was just nailing the the parents to the wall - it had already put the kids up. Each was unconscious. . . but they wouldn't be for much longer. A joyful night of skinning each of them carefully and butchering them was about to begin.

In the morning, what was left was barely recognizable when the detective finally figured out the clue from the last murder. By some miracle, they were alive. But they wouldn't be like that for long.

The clue the killer left this time was obscene, considering where it was from. It was a crucifix taken from a church a few miles northeast of the house. That was the next target.

@saor_illust school

Emily was groggy when she was awoken that morning with a call from one of her co-workers. "God, do you know what time it is?"

"Oh, shut up, you love your job. Don't give me that. Anyways, he struck again. The parents and the kids are still alive, for now. We'll have to work around the paramedics onsite, but we've been cleared to look around. Up, now. We're set to leave in twenty minutes."

Her eyes widened, and she jumped out of bed, rubbing his eyes sleepily. It took her five to get ready, five to grab a bite to eat, and ten to get to work.

When the team arrived at the house, Emily wasn't sure what they had expected, but it definitely wasn't… this. The bodies were brutalised, and it was truly a miracle that they were still alive. But by the blood still leaking out of their bodies.. they certainly wouldn't be for much longer, if they even were alive anymore. On the floor was a crucifix, covered in blood from the victims. He carefully picked it up with a gloved hand, and put it in an inspection bag. He'd look at it later, when he had better equipment.

For now, though, Emily told her co-worker, "Hey, I found this. I'll head back to work to analyse it. See what else you can find here, let me know if you get anything else."

When they ran it through the computer, the blood tested negative for any of the existing people in database, which made sense. It wasn't likely that the victims were criminals. But the question still was.. where did this crucifix come from? There was a label on the back, though, Emily noticed. It read the name of a local church, which.. was very close to the house she'd just left.

She picked up her phone: "You remember the crucifix I found? We have to go to the church. There may be something there."

Emily was good at his job. He knew that. But this was what, the fifth, sixth murder? He'd lost count at this point. And still, they were hunting this murderer down and he wasn't behind bars yet. God, it was infuriating.

Jona was still waiting. It was at the church, humming an old hymn.

"Emily. . ." it says softly.

She's getting close to finding me. If she comes with people, they'll die.

Up in the rafters in the dark, it settled down to wait.

@saor_illust school

Upon arriving at the church, Emily waited for her co-worker to arrive before stepping inside the church. Jona's whispers echoed throughout the worn-down walls, sending an involuntary shiver down their spine. "Who's there?" he asked sharply, eyes darting around carefully. Guarded and on edge, she instinctively put her right hand over the handle of his gun, ready to draw it at any given moment, as she walked further into the church, her partner right behind her.

Jonah smiles in the dark, pulling out a sickle in a reverse grip. Faster than Emily's comrade could see, it slid behind the detective's comrade, decapitating them and spraying blond over Emily. A moment later that same blade was up against their neck.

"If you had come alone, your comrade wouldn't have had to die yet. Their blood is now on your hands, Emily. What shall you do?" it murmurs, an unfamiliar accent coloring its words into the night sky on a new moon: dark and seductive.

After a moment, it laughs softly and moves away, stowing the sickle as it does so.

"Tell me, Emily. Why try to find me? You know my reputation, and yet you still came after me, knowing you might die." it purrs, prowling around the detective, its hair and shirt the only things visible in the dark interior of the church. "It is almost as though you have an obssession with me."

Stepping back towards Emily, it reaches out a perfectly manicured hand and traces the detective's face, not quite trying to touch them. Just trying to unsettle them.

@saor_illust school

Emily's eyes darkened, mouth twisting to form a low, frustrated growl. "It's my job, 'Midnight Crucifixion. I'm good at my job. As for my partner? That's all on you. It is not my fault that you were the one who made the decision to murder them."

She spun around in a slow circle, keeping an Jonah's dark figure. "And as for you…" he laughed sharply, eyes narrowing, "the next time I see you, you'll be behind bars!"

They pulled out the gun, holding it in both hands and pointed it at the murderer. "Move, and I'll shoot."

Deleted user

"You chose to bring them. How is that on me, Emily? You thought out who was the most expendable, didn't you? And so your comrade was the unknowing sacrifice." Jona replies softly.

"You know, they've tried bullets. The others. They're dead now. They've tried to put me behind bars, too. I'm out still." it smiles, taking another step towards Emily.

@saor_illust school

Emily's grip tightened in anger. Who was he to blame this on them? Who was he to tell her what she thought? And worst of all, who was he to taunt her like this? They were good at her job. He was in fact, the best he knew at this job. She would put him behind bars. They knew they would. Silent, still, she sent a murderous glare towards the dark figure coming too close for comfort, and fired. One, two, five, seven. As many times as she could, though not daring to go above ten. He didn't think they had enough bullets to go all out. At least, not yet. "I'll take you back alive or dead. Preferably dead," they managed between clenched teeth.
