@Oakiin

This is very much ripped off from, with permission, the lovely @RainyDayArtist ~ Thanks, and you're a genius for coming up with this!

Her entire life, she had searched for the one. Years had passed, and many times she'd been put down as she aged without finding a partner, but she had to be sure it was the right one. And finally, she'd found him, the perfect partner. Even though they were both in their thirties, he still knew how to have fun, and after dating for a few months, they'd decided to get married. She'd never been more excited. Everything was picked out, everything was perfect

As she's getting ready to walk down the isle, one of her friends comes up to her in tears, looking utterly devastated. In response to asking what was wrong, her friend informed her that her 'fiancé' was currently in the back making out with her maid of honor.
Of course, the bride is beyond devastated herself, and completely humiliated. In an effort not to make a fool of herself, she rushes out of the building in tears, still in her dress.
She didn't even think about it as she fled down the steps to the subway, getting on the first train to anywhere.
When she drops down on to one of the seats, she bursts into tears, assuming she was alone. What she didn't take into account, was the strange man sitting across from her.

That latter half is entirely ripped from Rainy's rp <3

Rules:
like the original, I'd prefer a mxf for this, just bc my guy is straight <3
The above prompt is adjustable to your character, since I'd like like to play the guy. If you have a gal that would work, but something in the prompt is a little off, no prob! it's just a general idea.
Swearing, is fine, just keep it reasonable.
Probably nothing nsfw, cause I'm uncomfy
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)'s rules apply.
I'd like our characters to be mid-thirties? Kinda on the older side
May contain some pretty dark themes and more mature content
If you have any complaints, do not hesitate to bring them to me!
I may change or update these at any time
Please don't let this die on me. Just tell me if you're no longer interested in it, so I can reboot/reopen this for other users.
I have the right to deny you for whatever reason. Just a heads up, if we've never rped, I'll probably ask for a sample.
That's all I got for now. Just let me know if you're interested.
No god modding
Please keep your replies a little longer. Doesn't have to be more than 3 lines, but wherever you can, try to stay above 1.
I'll post a character template if anyone's interested.

Character's name: Clara Ann Hill
Character's age: 37
Gender: cis female, she/her
Personality: Ever since the failed wedding, she's been horribly depressed, she already suffered from the condition but she's slowly growing worse than ever. She's highly intuitive and creative, as well as emotional, but those are hardly flaws on her part as she's a very compassionate person.
Physical Description: Clara has a warm, ivory complexion with red undertones to her skin. She has brown eyes and hair dyed lavender purple, her hair being wavy and cut short in a pixie undercut, fluffy and messy (her fiance never liked it, but she refused to go back to her natural brown because it made her happy). She is short and fat, with a cute round face that just makes you want to protect her with your life. She has tattoos of flowers covering her arms and a septum piercing.
EDIT: I drew her <3

Brief Backstory: Clara is a professional hairstylist. She met the love of her life, Arthur, online and they hit it off instantly. He was funny, charming, and knew how to treat a woman (or so she thought at the time). However, he, like anyone, had his flaws, and that made their relationship strained for a while until the man proposed. She said yes, and thus Clara Hill was to become Clara Miller.
Other: Clara loves animals and has a pet cat named Mouse, as a bit of irony and because of how small the calico kitty is.

@Oakiin

(Oof, sorry for the inactivity, I had a couple bad days there TwT)

For the record, I LOVE her. I would die for her OwO

Here's my guy <3
Character's name: Arlath
Character's age: 36
Gender: Male
Personality: Upbeat and friendly, Valen always has a smile and a kind word to offer. He's mature and collected, rarely losing his temper. Even when he does get angry, he never blows up, just becomes a little more snappish and brusque. However he has a difficult time not showing the emotions he feels, and he's generally easy to read, especially around those he trusts. He can be a bit too protective of his friends, making him occasionally overbearing, and when he makes his mind up, often there is no brooking any argument with him. Being of a high rank in the military, he's used to being in a position of command, and he can be bossy, though never rudely. He hates being alone, and when he's feeling bad he can get a little clingy. He has a firm sense of right and wrong, and holds his job in the highest honor; it is the most important thing. He carries out his duties with unwavering pride, believing there is no higher calling than to serve his people.
Well-liked by most people he meets, he's charismatic and interested in others, spending time listening to them rather than talking about himself. He has firm beliefs that he will argue, however, and is unswayable on his opinions. He can be a tiny bit of a control freak, wanting to do stuff himself to either keep others safe, or if he thinks he's the only one capable. He has some problems delegating, though this is a flaw mostly from his youth that he's learned to let go of by now.
Physical Description: Arlath's tall and VERY fit. He's got white hair and beard, and is very trim and neat. He's got a pale yellow eye, and his other one's missing, having been destroyed by some old injury. It's clouded over white now. He's got darker tan skin, and many scars, none of which seem to be attached to any particular traumas. Though he has a serious resting expression, his smile is easy and something he's happy to give to just about anyone.
Brief Backstory: Undecided I'll figure it out
Other: og, he's not from earth, and I'm making my mind up about that still.

@Oakiin

(Sure! I'll be very patchy today, we're trying to figure out some college stuff, but if you want to post the starter, that's A-okay with me, you can set up where Clara is! ^^ I'll get back to you as soon as I can)

@Oakiin

(Tbh, if you wanna do it, that'd be okay, since we'd probably start out in Clara's pov? Up to you tho, I can do it if you don't want to)

The subway was blessedly empty tonight, as Clara burst through the doors and slumped down on the seat to cry. She should have seen it sooner, that her lover would be in love with someone else. She wasn't pretty, or funny, or particularly adventurous, or anything that would make a good wife. Maybe she deserved it.

The shock ebbed away and made way for an unfortunate headache, nausea from the whole night's events creeping in as she let out rattled, choking sobs. Anywhere was fine, she could go anywhere, as long as it was away from this horrible place with all these memories swirling around her.

@Oakiin

As the subway drew up to another stop, the doors hissed open and someone stepped on – someone who almost instantly tried to back-track, only to have the doors close again before they could. Arlath stared awkwardly at the woman in very obvious distress on the seat opposite him. He'd been absorbed by his book, and hadn't noticed her until it was too late to give her decent privacy.

Awkwardly nodding in her direction, he took as seat what he felt was a respectful distance away and pretended to busy himself with his book again, though in reality he was paying more attention to the woman. She seemed absolutely miserable, and Arlath felt his heart go out to her.

Deleted user

She sniffer, looking up. Damn, someone was in here, she had to stop crying. She couldn't cry in front of people, she wasn't supposed to. She was supposed to be a goddamn adult here, why was she crying around strangers?

@Oakiin

(Okay, I'm hopefully back! Thanks for waiting <3)

Finally Arlath couldn't take the awkward silence; the muted sniffs and held back tears of the woman at the other end of the compartment. He carefully bookmarked his page, looking up and meeting her gaze.

"I'm sorry," he said softly. "I didn't notice you, I didn't mean to intrude on your privacy. I'm getting off at the next stop, if that helps. Are…are you alright?"

Deleted user

“No, I’m fucking not!” she exclaimed, choking up even more. “My husband to be just dumped me for a younger, prettier woman who was also my best friend. So no, I’m not.”

@Oakiin

Arlath froze, startled by the sudden outburst. He stayed silent for a moment, gathering his thoughts before he slowly replied.

"I'm so sorry to hear that," he said. "I don't understand why some people think that's okay. Here."

He stood and made his way up to her, handing her a neatly folded tissue from his pocket. Hesitantly, he sat again as the bumps in the subway tracks threatened to knock him off balance. "Is there anything I can do for you?"

Deleted user

She took the tissue, and for the first time of this horrible night, she smiled. "Thanks," she said, blowing her nose. Then it hit her. "Shit! Mouse is still at home! Oh no… I have to get off this train!" she said, standing up regardless of her shakiness and the heels, and hobbling over to the doors.
