So, I recently came up with a prompt over on my writing prompts thread, and really wanted to try it out. So, of course, I’m making yet another rp. shut your damn mouth, don’t judge me—

Anyway, here it is:

  • Character A, a well-known sarcastic comedian, meets Character B, an inspirational public speaker. Tasked together to start an influential non-profit class to teach teens about the joys and wonders of the stage, both characters find their morals crisscross in patterns neither can get behind. Chaos absolutely ensues, and with a whole array of students behind either of them, it’s probably labeled one of the most competitive school years in the books.

**Of course, Character A and B are going to be the main charas, but if you’d like to man a few separate student characters, then go for it. I’d say utmost of three secondary (student) characters, and I can fit a place up in the template for them. **
Also, if it’s not too much of a hassle, I’d love to be Character A. But I totally get it if you want to be A, too, and in that case, I will gladly change to B. All preference, baby.
Also, let me know if you want romance or platonic. I’m a huge fan of romance (any pairing) so I’d probably lean more that way.

Slight bit o’ rules:

  • I reserve the right to yeet you from the thread if I so wish, but I probably won’t unless your actually insane
  • Rated whatever, we can take it to pm’s if needed
  • Cussing’s fine, but no derogatory slurs
  • No controlling another character
  • Have fun my dude
  • No insanely difficult characters to work with (exceedingly edgy, ungodly stupid, op)
  • please be relatively active ;-; I’d love this to be a long-lasting slow burn story.

temp will be up once someone joinssss :D

@Fraust

(Honestly might do this if someone else doesn't snap it up hh)
(It seems like so much fun and I love your writing style 🥺)

@Fraust

Full Name: Saxon Lowe
Nicknames/Aliases: Sax
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bisexual
Occupation: N/A

Personality: Saxon is very strong willed and stubborn. He can be cocky sometimes, and he tends to get annoyed by other people easily. He's a one man show and he doesn't work that well with other people. He tries his best, but he gets very frustrated after a while. As the oldest of a big family, he's used to having to yell at others to get them to behave.
Mannerisms: The corner of his mouth twitches when he's pissed off, Touches the scar on his nose while thinking, Hooks his thumbs in his pockets while standing idly, Will fidget with anything in his hands
Hobbies: He likes to read, knit/crochet, go on runs, and write poetry
If you were to describe them in one sentence: He's sick and tired of your shit

Physical Appearance:

Normal Attire / Gear: Saxon usually wears formal wear, but he wears comfortable sweats when he's alone at his house.

Backstory: Saxon is the oldest of six children, only one of which is a girl. He's always had to be the one taking the fall for his siblings misdeeds and he's sick of it. He was relieved to finally get to move away from home and he alone for once, although he does get lonely sometimes. His parents weren't really present much, so he was pretty much left with the job of raising his siblings.
Family: Four brothers, one sister, two living but not very present parents
Other: Has two cats named Cosmo and Nebula

Students:
Liese - Female, soft angsty Lesbian
Casper - Gay ginger dumbass, tries his best
Axis - Straight seamster, the only decent student tbh

@LittleRiver local_movies

(Ohhhhh yep yep yep he’s awesome. For age I’m thinking like early 20’s and for the students, I explained it on the first post. I put it in italics so you can find it easier. Just three or less students per “teacher” I guess, and their names and just a little about what they’re like.)

@LittleRiver local_movies

Full Name: Jistu Redding
Nicknames/Aliases: Almost never goes by his full name, and instead goes strictly by Ji
Age: 24
Gender: Male h/h
Sexuality: gAyyYy
Occupation: N/A

Personality: His name literally means “Trickster Rabbit” in Cherokee, so you could probably guess. This dude is truly a force to be reckoned with, his witty mind bringing a joke to any situation he can find. Although, while he’s off-stage, he can actually come off as quite chill and easy-going. Always seems to have that laid-back nature, but in reality, has mild anxiety. Never about speaking in front of a crowd, mind you, but about social situations regarding people of his age. He can act like a completely different person the moment he steps out from behind the curtains, but can genuinely be unsure of himself or how to act in other situations.
Mannerisms: Never goes anywhere without his lucky rabbit’s foot— which is made from the actual fur of a rabbit / squints when he’s thinking or confused / mutters to himself and tends to chew on pens
Hobbies: Researching really nothing in particular / speaking / studying and staying in tune with his native culture / music— but listening to it more than playing it
If you were to describe them in one sentence: Pretty much the embodiment of stressing about something and doing nothing to fix it, so you just sit there all anxious and jittery without productivity.

Physical Appearance: Probably one of those that, at first glance, would be considered “tall, dark, and handsome.” He’s got pitch black hair, short, and pushed up and out of his face, and the deepest of brown eyes, nearly black against the stark white. He usually has a few beads in his hair, despite the strands being hardly thick enough to keep them there. His skin is a lighter coffee color with pinkish undertones to make it warmer in just the slightest, and nearly spotless despite weird, undiagnosed pigmentations. They’re harmless, though, simply just places where “the ink ran out,” as his parents like to say. His face is fuller and seemingly chiseled from his head, the slightest bit of scruff around the edges. He’s brawniest at his shoulders, having a broader chest and longer legs, while still looking nicely proportional. He stands at about 6’0”.
Normal Attire / Gear: Any black sweaters he can get his hands on, usually wearing some kind of light slacks with it and dress shoes. He’s certainly a fancy one, and loves all shirts collared with little ties around them. Despite this, he really enjoys all kinds of fun elastic inspirational bracelets on either wrist. Perhaps too many, but that’s impossible in his book.

Backstory: He was raised in what would be labeled as a “common household,” with a younger brother (now 19) and his two parents. He has an extremely close bond with his family, and they keep it very close-knit. For a while after high school, Ji found his career as a comedian while he was traveling with his brother overseas, at a very impromptu open-mic place on the outskirts of Amsterdam. From there, he honed his talent of being in front of the crowed and booked gigs wherever he could, soon coming back to America to perform with the help of his brother. However, now with his brother off at college and the offer of being a teacher for a public speaking class, Ji is convinced he found his calling, and is super happy about it.
Family: Brother (Yona), Father (Garett), Mother (Inola)
Other: He’s very in touch with his culture, but doesn’t mention it often. Of course, his apartment is filled with traditional Cherokee items and such just so he could remember the stories his mother told him, and her parents before her, and so on.

Students:
Hali — small questioning baby boyo who has a fiery heart
Layla — absolute determined bi gal who mimics Ji’s humor more than he’d like
Sebastian — asexual dweeb who just wants someone to help him get over stage fright

shoot, sorry that took SO long

@LittleRiver local_movies

(I was thinking maybe like the first day they start teaching? That way it would be easy to establish atmosphere and such. But it also seems pretty slow, so if we wanna do where they already know each other and all the students, we could do just starting on a typical class day. Up to you)

@Fraust

(The latter sounds fine to me, but probably still early on so the teachers are still getting to know each other lol)

@LittleRiver local_movies

Ji never ran late. To this day, he still kept that.
Even so, as he walked into the room, a few students were already there. But it was no surprise— Layla and Hali were always raring to go every single morning.
The room was unlike a standard classroom. Well, this class was not like a standard class, either. The room was larger, a stage off to the left of the door and seats facing it to the right. Layla and Hali were constantly sitting at the front, Sebastian normally behind the two, because they liked to be more engaged. That and Hali couldn’t see very well, large round glasses like shades over his lively blue eyes.
Behind those seats was heaps of storage, with musical instruments and art supplies strewn about. There was also a microwave off to the side, with a sink, too, but it was relatively broken. Still— that didn’t keep him from accidentally putting noodles in it and nearly exploding the whole thing.
Ji nearly slid in the room, dramatically slapping the door open and bowing to both students as Layla started mockingly clapping and Hali gave a timid thumbs-up.
“Hello, my children,” Ji said quite boisterously. “How are we doing on this fine Monday morning?”
“Absolutely wonderful,” Layla replied. Hali just frantically nodded.
“Beautiful. Happy to hear. How much time before class starts?” Ji replied, walking over to sit on the edge of the stage.
“‘Bout five minutes,” Hali responded, eyes locked on his watch.
“Gotcha,” Ji said, face growing into a smile.

@Fraust

Saxon flipped through his lesson plan as he walked into the classroom soon before class started, sighing softly. Axis was sitting in his usual spot, hands sewing some article of clothing and generally looking very tired and stressed. Liese came in right before the bell, and Cas popped his head up when it rang, seemingly having been taking a nap in the back of the room.
"Good morning, children…" He set his papers on the desk. "Welcome to class. Hopefully you'll all be paying very close attention because I will not be repeating any information for slackers, is that clear?" There were a few mumbles of assent. "Very good. Mr. Redding, do try to keep up, will you?"

@LittleRiver local_movies

“‘Do try to keep up?’” Ji repeated under his breath, cocking his head. “Great to see you, too, Lowe.”
Catching his attention, his eyes flicked over to find Sebastian walking through the back door and slipping into one of the seats.
“SEBS!” Ji said loudly, a smile on his face. “Nice to see you, bud! Why’re you joining us so late?”
“It’s— The bell just rang, Mr. Red—“ Sebastian began, looking noticeably disheveled, but Ji cut him off.
“You’re totally fine, kid. I’m messing with you. Welcome to the party,” he replied, sitting up from the stage and walking over to a nearby desk— stationed off to the side with a few papers on it. He leaned over the table, grabbing a clipboard from the drawer and a pencil from the cup. He carefully slipped it behind an ear, resting the clipboard on his waist.
Anyway,” he began, glancing over to Saxon for a moment before forcing his attention back to the class. “Today we’re going over a ton of speaking properties. Pretty much just basics, ‘cuz last week y’all learned speech structures, and now you need some tools.”
Ji walked back over to lean up against the side of the stage, holding his clipboard against his stomach and leaning his hands against the top.
“This includes fluctuations, pacing, projection, delivery, redundancy, etcetera. Now, if anyone wants to define those terms cold turkey, I encourage it. Anybody?”
