The kingdom of Light and Dark had always fought, for as long as anyone remembers. That was in till the nonchalant kings of both kingdoms though "Why are we even fighting?" They decided they would have their children marry when they get older. The princess of Darkness and prince of Light saw each other often, but never felt attracted to each other, in fact they didn't like each other at all. They were more like siblings and everyone could see it besides their fathers. When they turned 14 they were moved to their own castle together with new servants and small kingdom to run together. 18 is their marriage date and the two have started working together to convince their fathers that this was a bad idea. Both have always wanted to find love on their own, but how can they do that when they are promised to each other.

I don't care about name, but they do start at 14 in the story. I kinda want it to be a wholesome, discovery one oneself kinda story. There will be some drama and stuff since they are running a small country themselves. I don't really want the princess and prince to fall in love, but if that's where the story is going then it's fine.

The castle was much smaller than her father's, but what did Clementine expect. Right now she is only fourteen, still a child. Her father's lack of concern and free spirited personality worried her. He is a kind King, but didn't take much seriously, without her there to keep him on track she hoped their kingdom wouldn't go down in ruins. With a sigh she took her first steps towards her new home. Servants flooded out the doors to welcome her and grab all her belongings. This would be the first in three years she would see the prince. Clementine hoped he matured in those years. Even though they are the same age, anytime he come to visit she felt like the older sister keeping her younger brother out of trouble, but somehow he always dragged her down with him. Looking around she saw a bit of the garden in the side yard. The wasn't all the impressive, just a plain gray color, and a bit worn down. Clementine didn't want to see inside at the moment, so instead she walked her way around to the garden. Blue skies, warm weather with a cool breeze, it was the perfect day to be outside.

@Exis

Mars could hear his name being called periodically, but he resolutely ignored it. He didn't spend two long hours plotting an escape plan only to give up the game right away, and besides, he'd only just made it to the garden. He hid behind a couple of flower bushes—honeysuckle, he noted—and waited for the sound of the servant's footsteps to fade. With the imminent threat of being discovered gone, he allowed his guard to relax as he idly began sucking on a couple of the honeysuckle stamens. He wondered when Clementine would arrive to the castle, and if she was less uptight than the last time they'd seen each other. It seemed to him that she was always way too serious, but he knew she could be funny when she wanted to. She was kind of like the tiring older sister a lot of those books he'd read portrayed, except they were the same age.

@Fantasy-Illy!

A genuine smile crossed Clementine's face, which was rare. Most the time the smiles were fake, ones for parties and such. The beautiful colorful flowers filled her with happiness. It wasn't till she heard rustling in the bushes that made her stop on her tracks. Was there already an intruder, or maybe an assassin? She quickly looked around for a weapon. She was skilled in swordsmanship, but sadly did have one on her. In the corner of her eye she saw a watering can, ot wouldn't do much damage but it might give her time to escape. "Who's there? Come out." Tightly holding the watering can im front of her she walled closer to where she heard the sound. "If you don't show yourself I'll call the guards." Clementine had never been one to scare easily, without her gather around though, she felt a bit more uneasy.

@Exis

Mars froze at the voice, preparing to bolt when it clicked who was speaking. "Clementine!" he exclaimed excitedly, scrambling out from behind the bush and standing, brushing the dirt off his knees in the process. He went to hug her, then noticed the improvised weapon. Laughing nervously, he waved instead and said, "I didn't think you'd be here so early! It's good to see you again."

@Fantasy-Illy!

Clementine let out some breath that she didn't know she was holding. "Oh my…" dropping the watering can, her body followed suit and fell to the ground. "Mars, you scared me." She laughed. "It's good to see you too. I didn't think you were here yet." As she said that she realized where he was and raised an eyebrow. "Why are you in a bush?" Clementine, though she didn't want to, always questioned what Mars was doing. He was unpredictable and sometimes that worried her. It was strange to see him all grown up, but at the same time not. He was handsome, though she already knew that, it was clear by the way girls surrounded him at balls. Still, she could only see him as a sibling, but she would do anything for her kingdom. Clementine just wished she could choose her own path sometimes.

@Exis

Mars stifled a laugh at her apparent relief, although he was quick to apologize for startling her. He crouched down in front of the princess, taking a moment to study the changes in her appearance since the last time he'd seen her. She'd become very beautiful, he supposed, but he'd never been particularly interested in girls, let alone with someone he saw as a sister. Hearing the question she asked, he rubbed his neck and smiled sheepishly. "Oh, you know. Just… enjoying the beautiful day!" he responded in exaggerated merriness.

"Prince Marek!"

Mars winced as his name was called nearby, and without thinking he grabbed Clemetine's arm and ushered her over to his hiding spot behind the honeysuckle bush. "See, beautiful day!" he whispered with a guilty smile.

@Fantasy-Illy!

Clementine shot a glare at Mars, not only for pulling her down but also for hiding and neglecting his duty as Prince. "And how long have you been hiding?" She asked in a hush tone. They would catch her with him, and she didn't want to be seen as a Princess with no responsibility. A ball was to take place soon and both her and Mars needed to be there to make decisions. Without them, everything would turn to chaos. "We have stuff to do. We can't hide all day. We're expected to hold a ball in three days officially announcing our engagement." Clementine had trouble saying that part. Both her and Mars hoped to get out of this, but it was to no avail.

@Exis

"Eh, not that long… Maybe twenty minutes?" he asked more than answered, keeping his voice low as a guard ran past their hiding spot. He heaved a sigh of relief, a brilliant smile on his face until he heard her question. His expression quickly morphed into one of disappointment, the tiniest of pouts on his lips. "Yes, I know that," he replied, shoulders sagging. "But that's not for three days—surely we can have fun for a little while? And besides, I still have hope they'll call off this disaster of a wedding they're planning. I don't see why us just being friends isn't good enough for 'the future of our kingdoms'," he continued, putting air quotes around the last bit.

@Fantasy-Illy!

Clementine, a bit shocked looked at Mars blankly. Just being friends to keep the peace? She had never thought if that. It was always drilled into her that to unite two kingdoms there had to be marriage. One thing about Mars that she loved, he always thought outside the box, something Clementine had a hard time at doing. Clementine grabbed Mars shoulders with a huge smile on her face. "You are brilliant! If we can convince them of that we both might be free." As free as they can be at least. Clementine sometimes wished she was never been born royalty. No, she wanted to be a doctor. "God, I love that mind of yours!" Quickly giving him a hug, she stood and bolted for the mansion.
