In the kingdom known as Elusia, magic is a big part of many people's everyday lives. Magic can be very powerful, depending on the strength of the person who wields it. Many townspeople wield simple magic, which can be used for working and entertaining children, while nobles and aristocrats perform powerful magic which has the ability to kill, manipulate and bring about despair.

Caspian is a young street performer who lives in the streets of the village of Crysma, performing magic for whoever is willing to watch. Unlike many commoners such as himself, he was born with extraordinary power and can wield powerful magic. He tries to hide this by doing simple tricks on street corners, as he could be captured and killed if he was found out by soldiers. Doing magic tricks doesn't make much money, though, and he is barely scraping by.

In the nearby palace lives (Y/C) and his older brother, who are princes, children of the king and queen. The queen died years before from sickness, leaving only the king on the throne. However, one day, the king mysteriously passes away, leaving the throne to (Y/C)'s older brother, Alec. Passed down through the royal family is an amulet, which allows the user to inherit the family's magic. Once Alec inherits the amulet, he starts acting strange, holing himself up in his study. Days later he orders his men to kill (Y/C). Everyone in the palace seems to be on Alec's side, as if they were brainwashed into serving him. Alec tells (Y/C) that he will shape the kingdom to become his own, not hesitating to kill those that he needed to. (Y/C) managed to escape, but knew he had to do something about his power-hungry brother before he took over the entire kingdom and committed mass genocide. Afraid and unsure of what to do, (Y/C) wanders the streets of Crysma, where he meets a certain street magician who agrees to help him…

Hi there! If you've read this far, thanks for being interested in my plot! If you wanna roleplay, please read these rules first.

-No NSFW whatsoever
-Please write at least a couple of sentences, please don't respond with like one sentence, its hard to continue the roleplay if you do that.
-Please make sure your character is able to take care of themselves, I really don't like super shy and weak characters who can't fend for themselves. Your character comes from a line of powerful magicians so he is pretty powerful.
-Violence is okay, and is pretty much inevitable, and gore is also alright, just don't be super descriptive with it
-Please no godmodding, yes your character is powerful but he is still mortal and can be killed and injured. No you can't kill people with one hit or something.
-Swearing is allowed, just dont use it every other word
-Modern technology isn't a thing, its in a pretty medieval setting.

This roleplay will most likely be a slow-burning romance, perhaps enemies-to-lovers, and obviously fantasy lmao. We can both play npc's as needed. Also, if you have any triggers please let me know before the roleplay starts. Let me know if you wanna roleplay and I can make a template! (Stalkers are welcome as well lol)

There we go ^^

@bluebee55

Name: Caspian "Cas" Green
Age (16-18): 17
Gender: Male
Height: 5'0
Personality: (This can be vague, if you wanna wait to reveal most of it in rp) Pretty mischievous and playful, has a sharp tongue and is witty. He's a good liar and isn't afraid to use it to his advantage.
Appearance: Short and thin, with mocha-colored skin and black, curly hair. He has freckles all over his face, arms and back and dark brown eyes.
Likes: Stealing, forests, the outdoors, cats
Dislikes: Fire, bugs, overly sweet foods
Other: If he had a hogwarts house he would probably be a slytherin. Also, despite his short legs he can run very fast. His parents were killed in a fire, leaving him to fend for himself on the streets since he was 11.

@Fraust

Name: Mylan Cryslorn.
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Height: 5'8
Personality: Generally pretty quiet. He spends most of his time studying and is usually passive. If he were king, he would never be the first to initiate a war, but he would respond to attacks. He prefers defense over offense, but he'll do what he needs to do. He can be a bit clumsy with the townspeople due to how infrequently he goes out.
Appearance: (Picrew, art not by me)

Likes: Books! And lots of them. He spends lots of time in the castle's big library. He also has a soft spot for animals and enjoys studying mathematics and strategy in particular. He's also fond of reading about swordfighting and is quite skilled at it despite his passive nature.
Dislikes: He hates unnecessary conflict and going outside in general. He's very pale because of this. He also doesn't talk to people much because he doesn't think his personal information is any of his business.
Other: Mildly superstitious, always seems to be freezing (both in general and to the touch)

@bluebee55

Aaa I love him! So we're gonna be starting a little before they meet, if thats okay with you. If we don't have anything else to talk about shall we get started?

"GET BACK HERE YOU PIECE OF SHIT!"
Caspian Green snickered as he sprinted out of the bakery, a loaf of freshly baked bread in his right hand and a small pouch of coins in his left. Despite the fact that he was being chased by a fully grown man who could easily hurt him if he caught him, he was enjoying this. The rush of adrenaline he got as he ran was what he lived for- it was the highlight of his day. Of course, he didn't just steal for the rush, it was necessary for his survival, seeming as he couldn't manage to get a job, and had almost no money. The loaf of bread would get him through about a day or two, then he would use the coins he stole to buy more food. He wanted to use the coins as little as possible, as he wanted to save up for a flat to live in.

He eventually outran the man, which made sense, as he was old and fat compared to Caspian, who was young and nimble. He made his way into an alley, where he put his back up against the wall of a building and slid down to sit on the ground. He took out his dagger and cut himself a slice. He took a bite and chewed slowly, savoring it, trying not to eat the entire loaf in one sitting. He was hungry enough that he probably could, but he had enough self control not to. After his breakfast, he went to his normal street corner, set up a small bucket for tips, and began doing magic tricks. He started off by juggling balls of white fire, which many people, especially children, seemed to like. It was also his favorite act. Soon, a small crowd gathered to watch.

@Fraust

Thump. "P-Please, you don't need to do this." A couple of steps back. "I apologize, prince, but the king wills it. It's for the best of the kingdom." Thump Thump. "You don't need to kill me! I haven't done anything wrong!" "You stand in the way of the king's plan, my liege." The guards raised their hands to try to seize the younger prince. Thump. Thump. "No!" Mylan turned around and bolted out of the castle, ignoring the yells of the guards behind him. Blood pounded in his ears, and his heart thumped so hard it hurt. His life was at risk. He had to come to terms with the fact that if he were caught, he would be killed.
He ran without seeing; adrenaline was the only thing fueling him. His brain was shut down. Only fear could tell his body what to do, and it told him to run as fast and as far as he could. He found himself in the city, pale and gasping for breath where he'd collapsed from exhaustion on the ground. He didn't remember falling, yet here he was on the mossy, cracked cobblestones. He was vaguely aware of people drawing nearer to him, but he couldn't move. He could only hope that the people near him weren't guards.

As Caspian continued his show, with small children cheering and laughing, and their parents tossing coins into the bucket, he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. A boy, who looked about his age, collapsed on the road. He didn't know what was going on, but he knew something was wrong. Cas caught the fireball and made it disappear, causing some disappointment among his audience. "All right, show's over, folks," he said hastily before running out to the road to get the boy to safety, before he got run over by a horse. He looked down at the crumpled figure of the boy, and but his hands under his arms, attempting to lift him up. He wasn't too heavy, but it took him a moment to drag him out of the road and off to the side. Just in time, too, as a couple of horse-drawn carts went by right where the boy had been lying.

He propped him up against the side of the building and shook him a little bit. "Hey. Hey, are you okay?"

@Fraust

Mylan groaned softly, glancing up at Caspian. His gaze was unfocused and he seemed to be very pale and clammy. "T-They're… they're trying to kill me… p-please…" He whispered, wincing as he rubbed at his throat. It was sore and raspy from having to struggle for his air. It didn't surprise him that he hadn't been recognized; he rarely went out, after all, and he wasn't in clothes that necessarily looked 'royal.' He tended to just wear what he found comfortable unless he needed to be presentable. "I can't… I c-can't… please… h-help… Alec is trying to have me killed…"

@bluebee55

Caspian glanced around and then back at Mylan. He definitely didn't look too good. "Alec…?" The only person he could think of with that name was the king, but it had to have been a coincidence. But he knew that he had to protect this person, no matter who he was. "Can you stand?" He asked, putting his earnings into his satchel, then closing it back up. "I know a place where you can hide. But you'll have to get up."

@Fraust

"I can… I-I can try…" Mylan replied weakly, hesitating before he shakily got to his feet. He supported himself on the wall so that he wouldn't fall over. "Where are you gonna take me? Is it safe? H-He can't find me there, can he?" He asked anxiously. "He's sending people after me, I… I don't know what happened to them… I thought we were friends, but… as soon as he told them to kill me, they started trying to." He was clearly too exhausted and frazzled to realize that he probably shouldn't be giving out all of this information to a total stranger. He didn't even know the other's name, after all."

@bluebee55

Caspian began walking beside Mylan. "Blackwood Forest, outside of town." The shorter boy shoved his hands in his pockets, kicking a rock as he went along. "It's not the most safe place to hide, but it's the best I can do. They probably won't think to check the forest. Plus, I have a small shelter where you can rest." After a while they came to the edge of town, and exited down a dirt road which lead into the lush, green woods. A bit deeper into the woods, they came across a small shelter composed of large sticks leaning against a tree, with blankets set up on the forest floor so that you wouldn't have to sit or lie on the dirt. There was enough room for two people to sit or lie down. "Welcome to my humble abode, good sir," Cas said jokingly, smiling and crawling inside. "Here's some water," he said, handing Mylan a canteen.

@Fraust

Mylan stumbled alongside Caspian, still struggling to catch his breath. He kept glancing around and over his shoulder to make sure that the two of them weren't being followed. "T-Thank you…" He murmured as he followed Caspian inside and accepted the water. "Hopefully they can't find me here… I… I don't wanna die…" He was trembling lightly and seemed to still be terrified. "They… they can't do that, right? Are they allowed? I-I mean, I… I technically have authority over the guards too, but Alec's word goes, I guess…"

@bluebee55

Caspian raised an eyebrow. "By Alec, you don't mean…" he paused for a moment. "King Alec? Who just recently inherited the throne?" Now that he was looking at the taller boy a bit closer, he realized that he looked similar to pictures he saw in the newspaper. "Then, that would make you…prince Mylan?"

@Fraust

"Yeah, Alec is my brother…" Mylan sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. "And yes, I'm Mylan… I… I honestly don't know what got into Alec. He got our family amulet and then locked himself up for a while and then, out of the blue, he's apparently ordered me to be killed because I'm 'in the way of his plans' or something!" He toyed with a lock of his brown hair, his heart still pounding hard in his chest. "I-I mean, he and I haven't ever been the best of friends, but we got along okay. We didn't necessarily fight or anything, you know? I just… I wish I knew what was going on. I'm terrified…"

@bluebee55

Caspian put a hand to his chin as he listened to Mylan's story. "That does sound…odd. I don't know anything about you and your brother's personal life, but I can't see him doing that. In all the pictures of you two I've seen in the newspaper, he never seemed like the type of person to try and kill his own brother." He ran his fingers through his hair, sighed, and then looked at Mylan. "Look, I barely know you, but I'll try and keep you safe. I know my way through the city and the forest, so I know the best places to hide. That's all I can really do." He looked outside and then back at Mylan. "I should probably introduce myself, then. My name is Caspian Green, but you can call me Cas." He gave Mylan a reassuring smile, to try and show him that everything would be okay.

@Fraust

"Thank you… it's a pleasure to meet you, Caspian. I'd introduce myself, but I'm fairly certain you know who I am at this point." He laughed weakly as he glanced around the shelter. "I don't get recognized as often as my brother does… I really don't go out much. I spend most of my time studying and such, you know. I wasn't in line for the throne, so I didn't worry about it. Alec is the one who always handled the public affairs and such…"

@bluebee55

Caspian nodded, thinking over what he got himself into. The fact that he, a person with much more powerful magic than others in his town, was going to be extremely dangerous. Sure, he could easily protect Mylan if needed, but if any of the guards saw his level of magic, he would most likely be captured and killed as well. It scared him, but he already made a promise to the prince that he would help him, so there was no backing down now.

"Makes sense. Now that I think about it, I do remember him representing our country a lot more." he paused. "But…what could have caused him to snap like that? I don't understand…"

Suddenly, he heard the sound of footsteps. Four pairs, and they were heavy. He could also hear the clanking of metal against metal.

It was soldiers.

"Shit." Caspian grabbed his dagger and unsheathed it. "Be ready to run."

@Fraust

Mylan looked up when he heard soldiers, his heart starting to pound as well. He was an adept magic user, naturally, but he didn't like to fight if he could avoid it. "B-But Caspian, a dagger and street tricks aren't enough to stop those soldiers…" He explained in a hurried, hushed whisper. "They're highly trained, and they have magic as well. They'll kill you too if you stand in their way! We… w-we're going to have to run together…"

@bluebee55

Caspian let out a quiet sigh, wishing he could tell Mylan his secret, but didn't allow himself to. Instead, he grabbed Mylan by the hand and started running. He could hear the shouts of the soldiers behind him, which increased his fear. Sure he loved the rush of adrenaline, but this was real fear. These soldiers had powerful magic, it wasn't the same as running away from the baker. All of a sudden, vines that were rooted into the ground began springing to life and trying to grab the two boys. This must be the doing of the soldiers, though he knew it was probably only a fraction of their power. A thick vine wrapped around Caspian's ankle, causing him to fall to the ground. He cried out in pain as the thorns on the vine dug into his leg, causing him to bleed. "Run!" he shouted to Mylan, as he struggled to escape. The soldiers were getting closer, and his dagger had been knocked beyond his reach. He had no choice but to use his power.

He let out a sigh and held out his hand to the vines. BOOM! A powerful explosion went off, and when the smoke cleared, all the plants within ten feet of him had been incinerated, including the one wrapped around his ankle. Despite the pain, he got back up and continued running, trying to catch up to Mylan.
