Character A's best friend has been dead for the last ten years. He died after a villain exploded a car that was near him and his mom. The mom survived, but Character A's bet friend, did not. The two have known each other since they were in the same preschool class. They always hung out together, had the same classes, supported each other's lives, and frequently would have sleep overs almost every weekend. Character A even told his best friend one of his deepest secrets: he was a superhero. Was. The other was that he had a crush on his best friend but it was too late for him to tell.

Ten years has passed and Character A is not a superhero anymore. The moment he had killed the villain responsible for his friend's death, he became a villain himself. Life went on, but he couldn't let go of the past. He couldn't let go of the injustice that seemed to be in every superhero, politician, and policeman. So in his own twisted ways, he is trying to take vengeance for those who aren't able to. One night, outside of a charity ball, he tries to kidnap a politician responsible for covering up the case involving his best friend. Before he could even do anything, he finds a red string that leads him to a masked man with a scythe. The masked man stops him from getting the politician and the plan ends there. Character A would spend the whole night at home thinking about this masked man. The mysterious man had a familiar voice, but A didn't know why. Why were they connected by a red string?

For a week, he stopped thinking about it till he is outside a bookstore and sees the red string again. The string leads him to a man who looks like his late best friend. It's not coincidence, it's true. Character B, the masked man and the bookstore worker, is Character A's dead friend. Character B technically isn't alive though: he's a grim reaper. He has no recollection of his past life, nothing. In fact, he was sent back to the land of the living to restore balance of fate for the land of the dead and living. A rogue spirit had escaped from Hell, possessed a wealthy buisnessman who already wants to watch the world burn, and has put everyone and everything in jeopardy. It's Character B's job to fix everything that this rogue spirit has done while also capturing it.

Who knows what fate has in store for Character A and Character B? Whether it's written in the books or made (even destroyed) by the rogue spirit, they are connected by the red string of fate.

(I have this character and wanted to do some kind of childhood-friends-to-strangers-to-enemies-to-lovers, if you catch my drift.)

Name: Reaper 851815
Alias/Nicknames: He calls himself "Atlas" despite his cover names never being anywhere near it. In the land of the living (right now), he's Atlas Lee.

Backstory: Ten years ago, Atticus Jeong died. He was the youngest of three children. His father had passed when he was ten, leaving behind Atticus along with his older brother Darcy, older sister Phebe, and their mom. Atticus was bright kid with a bright future. He was on the school swim team, was in school musicals, got high grades, and was always to nice to everyone he came across. His dream was to become a college professor and live in a nice apartment with his spouse (whom he secretly wanted to be his best friend).

Atticus was meant to go on to be a hero, but sacrificed himself when his mother tripped near by a flaming car. When sent to the afterlife, he was told that if he became a grim reaper that he may be able to become a hero and see the one who was his soulmate. The catch was that his memory would be erased. Despite this, he agreed and became the Atlas that we know of today. He used to go out and escort souls into the afterlife, but now his job to prevent souls from going when it's not their time.

Hair) Raven black with some dark silver streaks; it's wavy and goes down to his shoulder. Normally he keeps it up in a man bun.

Other features) There's a faint scar below his right knee from when he fell off his bike when he was seven. Under his right eye, there's a scar from where a piece of car metal hit him after the explosion.
Personality: Regardless of who he is now and how he acts, he is still Atticus. Despite him normally being (or trying to be) cold, brutish, and closed off, it never works. He is a cool-headed person that prefers to analyze and create strategies rather than acting on impulse. Atlas can pretend to be a loner all he wants, but that's not the real him. His smile can light up a whole room. He is empathetic and deeply cares about people. If someone needs help, he'll go out of his way to make sure they're okay. Sure he's tough, but Atlas holds a big soft heart within him. It sucks that as a grim reaper he can't really open up or be soft.
Superhero alias: Erebus the Grim Reaper
Powers/Abilities: Although Atlas has his scythe, he doesn't rely on it all the time. He can go between worlds and climb and scale walls. He also has enhanced superhuman strength and agility. Jokingly, he says that his "handsome looks" count as a power too.
Superhero Appearance: He wears all black long sleeve clothing with a cloak and an open crown hat. Atlas's face is covered with a mesh mask that hides his features. Sure it's kind of boring wearing all black, but grim reapers (at least those who have to be in the land of living for extended periods of time) are supposed to be like shadows.
Other: While Atlas doesn't really need to eat, he still does. He is obsessed with all kinds of food. A lot of things he loved while he was alive (sports, books, movies, video games, walking in the park, bubbles) he still loves even as a grim reaper.
