Changeling child, lured into the trap in the park. But also a werewolf. Forcibly infected in the experiments to see how lycanthropy would manifest in a changeling. The answer? Badly. She has the monthly transformations like any other werewolf, but the infection has seeped into her usual changeling transformation forms as well, and while not in her original form, she has heightened aggression among other things. Transformations take more energy than they used to.

She was already in the foster care system prior to this. Her dad left, her mom (the changeling in the couple) was murdered a few years ago. Foster parents are not going to take her back in, as they find her new trauma to be more than they can handle (they were already having issues with her that were not her fault)

An absolute sweetie. Bookish. Very quiet, but always listening.

Could commit a murder, but would she?

Very very smart, god-tier trickster

I'm not 100% sure, it depends on the plot and setting a little, I guess. Something fantasy? And maybe if we do a quest-type-thing, we could have a small cast of characters rather than just one main character each. Just a suggestion though.

@Fraust

Yeah, that could be fun! Then if we end up not liking one of our characters we can ditch them sdhjkl

@Becfromthedead group

Lmao that's true. A lot more dramatic if people get killed or put out of commission, too. Do you have any good fantasy questline ideas? I'll try to think of some in the meantime, but for now I'm a little stumped.

@Fraust

I'm honestly terrible at plots, but I can try and think of something aha
Could be apocalypse or dystopia themed, maybe? I'm not sure about a specific goal to work towards, though

@Becfromthedead group

Same ;-;
I do honestly love a good apocalypse/dystopia/wartime fantasy story. We can always start with sidequest-ish stuff and come up with a bigger evil later. But maybe those "sidequests" are how our band meets. Because I can come up with that stuff, but formulating an ultimate goal is really hard.

@Becfromthedead group

Thanks! I might end up making at least one new character, but I definitely want to use him. (Also Mori kind reminds me of him, but as a child. At least, design-wise, a little bit.)
I could also totally pull some characters from my uh… archives, if you can call it that. Old characters who were abandoned a long time ago but still hold value as archetypes.
Also, do you want people to be able to have powers in this?

@Fraust

Sure, if you'd like! I have no idea what kind of characters I'll be using yet honestly but I'm fine with fantasy and magic stuff

@Becfromthedead group

Okay, cool! None of my characters have any powers in universe, but I can always add them as appropriate to fit the story. I'll make sure to let you know if I do decide to add them to anyone.

Alright, so some other elements we could consider. Just throwing out every thought I have. We don't have to use all of them, or even any of them. Just my 3 am thoughts:

  • The world is just crawling with various monsters. They cause problems. Lots of quests/commissions/etc are available to people who are able and willing, or maybe just desperate enough for the coin.
  • There's some crazy god shenanigans. The gods are super real and sometimes send people on quests. (I do have a pantheon we could put to use if it ever becomes necessary, or if you have one or like a specific one, we can pull from that instead. I was thinking something similar to daedric prince type quests from Skyrim if you're familiar, just less morally dubious.) Or maybe a dystopian element because the gods are pissed about something.
  • Some areas persecute magic users, so our characters may have to be especially careful there.
  • Maybe a war is going on, or recently ended? Regardless, tensions are high between different factions. Maybe our guys sort of pick a side and run some errands for them? Or it could just be a backdrop of war.

Still no main goal ideas though. Also I've been on a dark fantasy kick lately, so I'm struggling just a little trying to be like "well, things are terrible, but maybe not as terrible as in the media I consume-"
