I have this character that I've really been wanting to flesh out recently, so I have unapologetically thrust him into an rp.
Basically, the basis of it is that he is a very anxious person, and can see ghosts due to a complicated ordeal involving his late sister, and the fabric of spacetime :D
(More info on my boi here - Avrey {this is FAR from done so I will be making a character temp if u need one :')

Im cool with any genre of rp! Just know it definitely will involve the seeing of ghosts, the using of abnormal abilities, and maybe romance in a coffee shop? :0
I have a few ideas but feel free to suggest ur own :)

(I like the idea, though I generally do traditional High Fantasy. I also have no idea what character to use, lol [and most of my characters aren’t even human, though I make a lot of shapeshifters])
(Hmm.. on second thought, I do have a couple characters that need development)
(And this may be a bad idea on my part for getting in another rp, but mere technicality, lmao!)

(Hey, I'm all good with that! I think I can work Avrey into some different situations XD)

(Sweet! We can do a bit of dual-character exploration then. And I do recognize that name!)
(Perhaps we can have it set in one of your fantasy settings, so you're comfortable, maybe with Mythrius as some type of royal and Avrey as a poor, ,lowly servant-type who acts a bit strangely and warrants her attention…)
(Same here. I will definitely have one up very soon.)

@Serpentess health_and_safety language

(Grin, thumbs-up)
(Shrug. Hmm… a loose alternative idea- set in a village/town/city and Mythrius is hiding among humans and the two characters bump into each other. The technology can be flexible for this one, whether medieval or modern. Magic is a bit of a default, but it can vary on how out there it is)

Deleted user

(I do like that! Then we could incorporate the coffee shop theme XD)
(a bit of real world maybe with hidden magic counterparts and things. Whatever you feel is best though.)

(Same here! XD that's definitely one of my favorite types of plots)

Quick backstory:Grew up with his mother, stepfather, and half-sister in one of the suburban towns dotted along Southern California. When his sister was accepted into a prestigious boarding school, she asked him, one night, if he could finally teach her to swim before she left. She ended up drowning in the ocean, leaving Avrey to believe it was his fault that it happened.
The family then moved to Washington, where Avrey suddenly was visited by his late sister in an attempt to keep him from believing he was the reason for her death. Unfortunately, with her being new to the ins and outs of being dead, she accidentally created a powerful rift in spacetime, changing Avrey’s position in the universe and causing his soul to remain in limbo, between the worlds of the mortal, and of the otherworldly.
Present situation: After a few years of coming to terms with this, Avrey moved to Seattle in an attempt to live a somewhat normal life. He currently works at a small coffee shop, attempting to pursue his dream of becoming a guitarist, while trying not to be driven crazy by the dead people that constantly pester him.
Other: has severe anxiety, paranoia, and a slight stuttering problem

What little light of the sun that could filter through the dense clouds of the city shone through the windows of The Opulent Orca, a small cafe a few blocks from the Seattle Boardwalk. Avrey sighed as he finished up the last of the opening procedures, unlocking the doors and sitting behind the register with a book he had pulled from the shelf on the wall.
"Did you restock the cup sleeves?" A greying man in a white labcoat asked from behind him.
Avrey jumped, sighing as he realized who snuck up on him.
"Y-yeah, Singh, I did."
"Are you sure?" The man asked again, moving to the other side of Avrey and peering over his shoulder. "What book is that?"
Avrey put the book dow, covering his face with his hands. "J-just something I found. What a-are you doing here anyways?"
"Well, I've found a slight disturbance in the overall inner workings of things. An energy source, if you will. I thought, perhaps, as mortal advocate, you'd want to help me investigate?"
Avrey sighed, watching as people approached the door as he lowered his voice to a whisper. He was, after all, talking to nothing. Nothing to normal people at least. Dr Singh wasn't exactly visible to anyone but Avrey, him being dead and all.
"I-I-I can't right now. Okay? M-maybe later."
He sighed as he stood to greet the customers, shaking his head at the ghost who was casually inspecting Avrey's stocking capabilities.

Mythrius wandered the streets, trying to memorize them so she wouldn’t get lost. However, after a dozen previous tries, she was still lost. She wasn’t used to so many buildings, or their height, or their proximity to each other. And the vehicles. These ‘cars’ were so different to riding a Neithhorse or simply morphing and traveling the skies.

Mythrius sighed. She missed home. She missed her family. And even Lucitius, her father, seemed unaware of where she’d gone, or was deliberately avoiding her to keep her safe. Why? Why was she doomed to live among the arrogant and oblivious humans, a pest to the multiverse if nothing else?

Eventually, she passed a shop called The Opulent Orca. Curious, and a bit hungry, she stepped inside, noticing the youth behind the counter and a few other folks inside. Thankfully the place seemed to have just opened.

Mythrius took a deep breath, then stepped forward, looking at the menu. She decided on something simple and looked at the youth.

“A mocha, please,”she said, speaking with a thick, gutteral accent.

Dr Singh immediately gasped at the sight of the woman, frantically pointing at her and making sure Avrey got a good look,
The mortal, however, was very unimpressed with this display. He tried to wave off the dead scientist as he took the order of the strange woman.
"A-anything else for you today?" Avrey asked as he looked up. But then, he saw it. The strange glow that hovered around the customer, the otherworldly light that told him she wasn't from this plane. His brows furrowed as he casually tried pushing Dr SIngh away.

Mythrius shook her head, watching the youth closely. He smelled and looked human, but he acted a little strangely for one. Though, she didn’t really know if his actions were truly strange, or if she just wasn’t accustomed to humans.

“No, thank you. Just the mocha,”she said politely.

Mythrius lifted her purse, a small and black thing with a short strap that she had ‘acquired’ from a store a few days ago. In there, she had the stash of money she had collected since she had gone into hiding. She found it a bit foolish to use something like money, instead of simple trading, but humans were humans.

After checking the price of the mocha, she paid for it. Then, she patiently waited for it, looking around the shop to see where it would be best to sit.

Avrey carefully watched her, casually grabbing one of the cups, stamped with a cartoon orca wearing a suit, as he drizzled chocolate sauce around the edges.
Dr Singh tapped him on the shoulder, and Avrey turned around, obviously annoyed.
"Did you see that??" The ghost exclaimed
"Y-yeah! A person!" Avrey whispered sarcastically, getting back to pressing the coffee grounds.
"No no no no no, I mean the aura! The glow! Regular people do not have such a thing about them! There is something peculiarly odd about this Person." Singh added, drifting through the counter to closely examine the strange customer
Avrey had to agree with that. There was something… odd. However, the ghost went to sneaking around the woman's purse and the boy just went back to being annoyed.
He waved at the air, trying to discreetly gesture for Dr Singh to stop
