Let me cut right to the chase: I am looking for a roleplaying partner who is willing to commit to a lengthy and dynamic RP.

I love to RP, but sometimes I have a hard time committing to the roleplays when the characters and their dynamics feel flat or drab; I love character arcs, and I love really getting into character dynamics. I also love world-building and really fleshing a roleplay out to its finest. I like it when the character relationships change over time, and as the characters explore new parts of their worlds and face new challenges. I know I keep overusing this word, but at the end of the day, I want my roleplays to be one thing: dynamic.

I would love to do a super dynamic roleplay with someone who shares my interests. What do I mean by dynamic, specifically? Well, I like for the characters to be consistent in their personalities, but not static, slowly changed and shaped by the situations and circumstances around them. I like to put work into character relationships (platonic, familial, romantic, and otherwise). I like for good things and bad things to happen to characters. I like some action, some humor, some fluff, some angst, some high-stakes, some emotional moments. I like some v a r i e t y. I like for relationships to be formed slowly rather than rushed, and I like character arcs that are not linear. (I.e., perhaps Character A learns some lessons and changes to become a better personโ€ฆ but then turns around and does something bad again. Or Character B, who was initially the good pure bean, has now turned to the dark side. dun dun dun)

Anyway, you get the gist, and if you don't, I can try to explain better.

If you think you'd be interested in trying to do a very serious, detailed, somewhat large-scale one-on-one RP like this with me, let me know. But first, make sure you read my preferred genres, as well as rules and requirements.

Genres.
You'll be in on this as much as I will, so you have an equal say in it all. But my personal favorites include:

  • Superhero fantasy, but usually with some more dystopian or at least "darker" elements.
  • Crime.
  • Dystopian.
  • Cyberpunk.
  • Apocalyptic/Post-Apocalyptic.
  • Survival/Thriller.
  • Action/Adventure.
  • Romantic Subplots.
  • Any combination of these.

Please let me know what you like, and we'll make our own world and characters. :)

Rules and requirements.

  • No requirement for activity levels, because life gets in the way sometimes.
  • I ask that you are an experienced roleplayer with good grammar and writing skills. You do not have to be perfect, but I appreciate being able to tell you put effort into your responses and characters.
  • Be willing/able to develop characters and work on plot ideas with me. Be creative.
  • No post-length requirement as long as you give me enough material to work with.
  • You can play as few or as many characters as you wish at any given time, just don't overwhelm me or yourself.
  • No cursing above a PG-13 level, no exceptions. F-bombs and g-d will not be tolerated.
  • No racist slurs or vulgar nasty talk will be tolerated.
  • No sex scenes ever. There won't be anything explicit like that in our RPs. References may be made to sex and related subjects, even rape, but nothing too explicit or nasty is allowed, and no scenes involving this kind of stuff will be RPed. Period.
  • Violence, gore, murder, and etc. will likely be present and are allowed.
  • No magic or demonic/spiritual entities will be in the RP. It just makes for a confusing mess of things.
  • No playing my characters please.
  • No Mary Sues/Gary Stus or OP characters.

I am in the EST and on sporadically; can respond daily except weekends, with some exceptions. Let me know if you have questions or are interested. Please do not ask to partake if you know you cannot take it seriously. If things come up and get in the way, I understand 100%, but if you know in advance that you will not be able to stick with it, please do not join. Thank you <33

@croccin-champagne

((oh boy oh boy oh boy. okay so i love character driven roleplays, and roleplay partners who have a certain standard, and i would love to offer you a sample! i'm also really excited because i just started working, so my responses have been all over the place lately, and i'm glad you're okay with that!))

@Aizawa-Sensei group

((Hey hey, hello! I would love to see your sample! And yesโ€” I understand chaos in life so if you are ever busy or scattered, I understand infinitely; I'm in college and naturally scattered like confetti anyway, so don't worry. You're in good company.))

@croccin-champagne

if you'll excuse the fact that this one is definitely magical and possibly blasphemousโ€“

Pamerra Academy was a large, imposing building. An old castle repurposed, the grounds were littered with classroom buildings, greenhouses and homes for the staff. It screamed a reminder that this was a place secluded from the rest of society. It's own thriving ecosystem hummed within it's walls, and Pamerra was it's own little world. And at the center of that world, sat like a cold sunโ€“or rather, a queenโ€“was Nevaeh Morningstar, daughter of Lucifer himself, and the future Queen of Hell.

And by god, she refused to let anyone forget it.

Within every ecosystem sat smaller, more centralized systems. And the dormsโ€“particularly the suite in the Southern Wing towerโ€“were a perfect example of that. Not that any other really mattered. No, all that actually mattered was said South-laying dorm, a suite made up of two rooms connected to a shared living space, with an off shoot for a bathroom. The living space was indicative of the wealth and status of the students inside. No other dorm had one. Only the room the Dean stayed in did.

It was there, in that little parlor, that three of the, frankly, most terrifying students were sat, each focused on their own task. Tall and visibly muscular, a woman with skin the color of dark wood sat polishing the blade of one out of a set of gilded battle axes, humming a tune unfamiliar to any ears outside of the realm of Hell itself. She was situated in an arm chair, feet planted firmly on the ground and her shoulders pushed forward, her task taking up nearly all of her focus.

A boy, pale and tall and looking nearly skeletal, if not quite, had sprawled himself over a literal chaise lounge, his voice carrying through the room in an obviously upset tone. Dark brows drawn down, hands waving about. He looked, for all the world, like a spoilt prince, in his open button up underneath a black silk robe.

But what would have drawn attention first was not either of these people. Rather, it was the girl poised elegantly on the back of the couch in the center of the room, one leg crossed over the other and a mug of something warm and steaming in her hands. Pale blonde hair and perfectly applied makeup painted her entirely as the stereotype found in teen novels. Bitchy, cheer captain, etc. But Nevaeh was no cheerleader. Head of the school's leadership club, future Queen of Hell, and the kind of person you either avoided, or pissed off. A force to be reckoned with.

The trio were used to their morning routines, all of them but Arzan dressed and ready before half of the school even bothered to roll out of bed. They talked, gossiped, and prepared for the day with an ease that came from time spent together and an unbreakable bond.

They weren't expecting a break in their routine.

When the lock clicked, Neve was the first to hear it, specially honed hearing catching the key sliding into the lock and sending her gaze straight towards the door. It was Therla who reacted, though. Noticing her friend's movement without even looking up, she shifted her grip on the handle of her battle axe, gaze growing stormy. No one but staff had keys to their room. And staff didn't enter in the morning. Blissfully unaware, Arzan continued to gripe, until the door actually fully opened.

And there, in the doorway, was exactly the last thing any of them had expected.

"Witch." Arzan stated, as though the rest of them couldn't taste the strange power wafting off the girl. She was no demon. Demons and Witches, when it came to magic, were far from the same.

"Thank you, Arzan, for that wonderful and completely necessary declaration." Nevaeh said, a graceful eye roll accompanying another sip out of her mugโ€“which sported little bat wings instead of a handleโ€“before she addressed the girl. "Hello, witchling. If you're here for the laundry, I regret to inform you that I already brought it down myself."

@croccin-champagne

oh yay!!! did you have any particular plot ideas planned? i find its a lot easier to focus on how you're building your characters and growing them, if you know where the plot is going to go. that way you can outline what might happen/effect the characters. all of your genre choices are pretty much perfect to me, although i'll warn you now that i'm not very well versed in crime/suspense, so that might be a difficult one/learn as i go

@Aizawa-Sensei group

I don't have anything planned yet because I wanted to make sure it would be something the other roleplayer would be interested in. Personally I'm a huge sucker for superhero themes, especially when there's a twist to it. So maybe superheroes paired with another one, like dystopian or post-apocalyptic? Either would be epic. If you didn't want to do superheroes though, we can absolutely do something different; feel free to suggest anything you like or have in mind! I agree that we should try to get some kind of idea as to where we want to go with it plot-wise so that we know where to steer our characters.

@croccin-champagne

oh my gosh, i adore superheroes. i even have a character from a story with a dystopian setting who's a superhero. she's got pretty gory abilities though, so using her would depend on whether the abilities were okay and whether or not you were cool with the type. this is her, though age and things are definitely up to change. in her original universe the powers are due to a mix of science and magic, though it would be pretty easy to just say her cells rapidly regenerate. i can also make new characters very easily!

@Aizawa-Sensei group

Oh dangโ€” I love her. I don't mind the gory abilities; I think it would be perfect. I usually make unique characters for each RP, but they're based off of some basic character ideas (which results in similar but different characters for each RP).

How do you feel about multiple characters? I don't mind how many you play, whether it be one or ten, as long as you're comfortable with it and able to handle them all without overwhelming yourself (or me). I usually start with one or two, and then create "side characters" throughout to help with the plot and expand the world a little. Usually I get attached to a couple of these side characters and end up with a small handful of characters, though I'm careful not to include a whole slew of them together in a single scene. Sometimes I kill characters off as well; sometimes I don't. It depends on what feels best for the plot. (Only my characters though, and with fair warning; I don't spontaneously kill other people's characters off because that'd be weird XD)

oh cool! i'm excited to use her again, it's been so long since she's been in action!

usually i prefer one main character, one main secondary(like a best friend, a sibling, etc) and lots of side characters who show up to help further the plot. often they get more fleshed out as i use them, because i get way too attached too quick lmao. i think i have a bit of a problem creating characters simply to further another character's story, but i'm the first to admit that they very quickly become their own driving force. i definitely wouldn't mind making/using other characters! idk about killing any, because normally it kills me to do that, but i think in some situations its the perfect move and can be super great for ending their arc or kinda sorta destroying characters they had any sort of relationship(platonic, romantic, familial, work) with. and i definitely wont kill off your characters lol, but i absolutely thrive on character building angst so if i get an idea for that that involves your character/s, i'll be quick to share it

Perfect! Absolutely perfect. Honestly, I'm incredibly excited to roleplay with you. I think it will be epic.

So, a superhero-dystopia of sorts, then? We'll need to decide what we want the society to be like, though whether we need to decide that before or after we get some basic plot ideas sorted out depends on our ideas and what we really feel like doing with this.

@croccin-champagne

im excited too! you seem like a good writer already!!

well there's pros and cons to both. with starting with setting, we can build the plot around what seems reasonable and realistic. with plot first, we could decide on something completely outlandish and build around that to make it make sense. personally i usually do the latter, but it's your roleplay so the decision comes down to you!

@Aizawa-Sensei group

Thank you so much; that really means a lot! I hope I deliver to your expectations.

Well, now that you've joined it's no longer my roleplay, but rather our roleplayโ€” and I have done both strategies, with both turning out well. Though, in hindsight, I do think, the plot first, setting second strategy has given me more freedom in working with it, as well as more interesting settings/worlds in the long run, so I think it would be our best choice here.

I can play a wide range of characters, so we have a lot of room for what we want to do. Do you have any ideas, plots, prompts, etc. that you would like to use? The grand thing with this is that, since I intend for it to be dynamic and long-lasting, we will have a lot of room to build and add things in over time as we goโ€” so there's a lot of room for potential for just about anything we want.

@croccin-champagne

if the bit of information i retained from badly taught ela classes stands, we need a central conflict to build off/around. i roleplay a lot of magic/fantasy, so those were my go to ideas lmao.

if we're going for a more realistic(+ dystopian) approach, something like some sort of crime syndicate or corrupt government could work. or even, depending on what the setting is, if we were placing this in a large city, we could do something involving a whole organization of heroes and maybe some sort of corruption there. a major villain intent on doing something Big and Evil could work too. i don't have any super specific ideas quite yet, so i'm just spitballing vague things to build around lmao

@Aizawa-Sensei group

I love both crime syndicates and government corruption. I also really like the idea of an organization of heroes and corruption there; that's already a recipe for an interesting plot. Perhaps we could sort of mesh some of them together? A villain who wants to do something big and evil, but rather than just having a few little cronies he runs a whole crime operation in the dark; a large hero organization that wants to stop him, but theyโ€™re corrupted from within with people who lowkey work for the Big Bad; honestly all governments seem to be at least a little corrupt so I meanโ€”

I dunno, I'm just spitballing.

@croccin-champagne

oooooo honestly i love that. it shoves together a lot of the best parts of each, includes some intrigue and potential for major betrayal, and is just cool in general. now the question is, whats the Big and Evil plot?? is it an end of the world situation? mass genocide? mind control? just your average takeover?

@Aizawa-Sensei group

Hmmโ€ฆ I think that whatever Big Evil Villain (imma call him or her Bev for short til we give em a name ๐Ÿ˜‚) plans to do should be something that is definitely wrong but something they can justify to themselves and others as being a worthy and noble cause. Maybe superhumans with powers have hurt a lot of people, and he believes the destruction they cause is not worth what help they bring to society, so he thinks the world could be better if they were purged (genocide). Or maybe he believes superhumans are superior to regular humans in most ways, therefore they should be the superior race and world leaders; this one's not genocide but sort of him trying to form his own elite government, likely with him at the head of it, of course, that he thinks would be better suited to rule. Maybe he thinks superhero society is corrupted and he wants to reform it to help the average people better, but maybe his ways of reform are highly questionable and involve a lot of control. Maybe he believes that people need more laws (less freedom, more safety, supposedly), or maybe he thinks that the people need complete and utter freedom (i.e., anarchy; he wants to get rid of most governmental systems in general because he thinks ppl should do whatever they want when they want, which would be chaos). Heck, maybe he's secretly experimenting on superhumans to learn to replicate their powers and give them to non-superhumans. The possibilities are kind of endless. I like the idea of him being up to something really dark and definitely an awful person, but still having certain (twisted?) morals and views himself as the true hero in all this.

Oh boy, that's a long ramble.
