In post-WWII Europe, there is a great divide. Those countries behind the Iron Curtain are separated from the free-thinking countries of the world. In one such country, Kyranistan, nuclear science has taken a huge jump. A massive deposit of radioactive materials in the country as allowed it to advance much more quickly. As a result, Kyranistan is the center of much conflict between the major powers of the Cold War: Russia, and the US of A.
In fact, there is espionage going on constantly. American forces drop into the country, trying to steal or destroy information, and are extracted out. Until one such mission goes wrong.
An American agent is stranded behind enemy lines. In order to flee the country with the info America needs to stop nuclear holocaust, he must rely on a plucky Kyranistanian guide to keep him safe and hidden.
