A decree had been put out by the Queen herself: Anyone who brought her the wizard/menace Jenkins would receive one-fourth of her treasury as a reward. Naturally, this plunged the country into a state of panic. Anyone with even an ounce of experience leapt into action, leading to half the country running around turning over every stone in search of the elusive man. It was a stupid amount of money, after all. And you weren't backing down either.
You ran into a roadblock about three seconds into your adventure, however. A tall, fire-wielding roadblock. He, too, was searching for the wizard. He was a lot farther along, though. You'd never be able to find the wizard before him on your own. There was only one option now: join him. Even half of the reward was a ridiculous amount of money, anyway.

Rules 'n Stuff:

  • The time is going to be less modern, so… swords and horses and such.
  • Magic is welcomed! Go on, give your character an awesome power!
  • As for responses, please have at least a few sentences, at least once every three days. Life can be crazy though, so if you need to take a break, just tell me.
  • More information will be given once someone joins and/or upon request. Don't be hesitant to ask questions about the world!
  • This is LGBTQ+ friendly.
  • Also, romance is an option.
  • Please ask before you join!

I'll post my character so you can get a look at him. I'm not really looking for anything specific, but my child is slightly chaotic. We could do a chaos duo, or a chaotic one and the one that keeps him from destroying everything or something else if you want… you can decide! Here he is:

Name: Aeon
Age: Looks 25, is actually a bit older than that. He'll never say how much, though.
Gender/pronouns: Male, he/him
Sexuality: Gay
Personality: He's very teasing and rarely takes things seriously. When he does take something seriously, though, it's taken very seriously. He has a light, sort of flirty air about him. He really likes making things worse, rather than better.
Appearance: He has tanned skin with slight golden undertones. His hair is dark red with light hints of purple falling to around his chin in messy waves, with bangs going to right above his eyes. He's exactly 6 feet tall and looks graceful, but strong. His eyes are large, bright and golden brown. He has a big, geometric spiral tattoo that looks a bit like a lock in the center on his back, done in white ink. His hands are covered in white tattoos as well, in the same geometric style as the one on his back. They start at his fingertips and go up to about the middle of his forearm, where they fade out elegantly. He usually wears various shades of red and white, with dark brown as well. He always wears lace-up sandals, no matter the weather.
Magic possessed/magic items owned: He can create and control fire. He has a pendent in the shape of a fox that lets him shapeshift into a fox (crazy, right?).
Favored weapon: Spear
Likes: Fire, interesting people, tigers-eye gemstones, having lots of money.
Dislikes: Rules, close-toed shoes, pineapples, being lost.
Background: He was born in a small town, and lived there until he was 15, when he burned the small school-house down (on purpose). His family sent him to the capital city, where there was a school run by the royal guard, in hopes that he would get 'reformed' and stop lighting things on fire for fun. He did not, but he did learn how to be sneaky and made quite a few friends there too. Once he'd graduated from the school at 18, he went back to his village to say goodbye before going off to work. His village, though, was completely destroyed. He figured out that a powerful creature from the forest had destroyed it– for fun, even! There was no way he could fight this being as he was, so he preformed a spell that could pause his life until he was able to gain enough power.
Other: This boy does not have a soul, which is why he can avoid aging for so long.

@King_Cyrus

Name: Malik Daygen

Age: 26 years old.

Gender/Pronouns: Male; he/him

Sexuality: Hahaha as if he knows. He'll tell you he's asexual/aromantic and that he don't need nobody but that's a lie. Actually bi, with a preference towards males.

Personality:
Initially unsociable, but loyal to a fault once it's earned. Prone to outbursts of anger; easily provoked. Acts like a jerk and is a jerk, but is also a huge softie deep inside. Never backs down from a challenge and loves a good fight. Kind of a grump. Lowkey pouts sometimes but would die before he'd admit it. Easily flustered and/or embarrassed. Inferiority complex; don't comment on his height because he feels short and will want to stab someone if they bring it up.

Appearance:
He stands at only 5'6, with broad shoulders (for his size) and an average waist. He is fairly toned, both agile and strong. His hands and feet are slightly large in proportion to the rest of his body, but not enough to stand out; you only notice if you pay close attention. His skin is fair, marked all over with various scars and even some tattoos. He has messy, curly, jet-black hair; it's super thick and usually does whatever it wants. He has no control over it. His eyes are mismatched; both are green, but his left eye is bright green while his right eye is a dark, forest green. He has a sharp jaw and a prominent (but not large) nose, but he looks much younger than he is (and he's mad about it). He only likes to dress in dark clothes, preferring loose pants that allow for ample movement without getting in the way.

Magic: He can teleport himself (or other people and objects) for short distances and can also manipulate shadows.

Favored Weapon: An axe, though he loves daggers too. Anything with a blade on it is his friend.

Likes: Nighttime. Fighting. Winning. Being alone. Weapons. A challenge.

Dislikes: Daytime. Annoying people. Being told what to do.

Background: Mostly under construction.
He grew up in a large, poor, rough family, though his childhood was unnotable aside from constantly brawling with his brothers. As a teenager, he would often leave home and travelled with some rough individuals, often finding trouble when it was unnecessary. When he eventually struck out on his own, he became a blacksmith, and he enjoys creating weapons— particularly swords, knives, axes, and daggers. He did some mercenary-style work here and there and found that he enjoyed it, so when the hunt for Jenkins began, he was more than eager to jump in and try to get himself some cash.

Aeon snickered a little as he ran out of the inn. The top floor was already mostly engulfed in flames– a little present for anyone else who also thought to look there, and a guarantee that no one would be able to get the lead he’d just gotten. There were people screaming and yelling about the fire, but no one paid much attention to him. He picked a tree a safe distance away from the burning inn and leaned against it. From his pocket he pulled out a piece of paper. On it, probably written in very shaky handwriting– the author had been trembling quite a lot– was the location of the wizard. Quite a precious thing to have at this time.
“‘Jenkins the wizard’ is a really stupid name,” he muttered to himself. "He had the entire world to choose a name from, and he chose Jenkins." Aeon scoffed and unfolded the paper, quickly reading what was on it. His eyebrows rose, his face one of surprise. Oh, so he was there? If Aeon hadn’t caught one of the wizard’s cronies and asked very nicely where Jenkins was (translation: threatened to burn his face off if he didn't answer), then he would have never thought to look there. He took a few more seconds to commit the location to memory, then lit it on fire. He watched as the paper crumpled and turned to ash, a small, delighted smile appearing on his face. A crashing sound came from the inn– part of the second floor had fallen into the ground floor, sending up a huge cloud of sparks and smoke. The whole scene was rather beautiful, and fit rather well into the overall state of the country. Stuff like this was happening all over the place, except that the other people didn’t have a good reason to do it. Well, probably not. Speaking of other people, he should probably get going. Even though he was pretty sure he was the only one with a clue at this time, he wasn’t 100% sure. Someone still might beat him to the wizard, and then his big adventure would be over.
