I am making multiple characters to be in the background but still really important.
I have made multiple characters before but need help on where to start.
With the character design or the backstory or just anything?

I would like help ASAP plz :"D

Take this how you want, but I always start with the character's backgrounds. How were the characters brought together and what happened in the past to make them who they are now? Are their backgrounds sad or perfectly normal? The backstory is a really important part of the character, and without one they wouldn't be who they are. :)

Depends on the role their playing in the story. I tend to figure out what role I'm going to have a character in first, and then build from there - for example, if I want an archetypical "Loner" character to play Lancer to my hero, I might make them highly competitive so it makes sense in story for them to constantly be questioning the protagonist's decisions. From there, you could maybe build backstory (i.e, big family, or grew up with lots of pressure, which made being The Best at all times the mindset of this character)

Before diving into character design or backstory, I think it would be helpful to first think about the role these characters will play in the story. Are they there to support the main characters? Are they there to provide a contrast to the main characters? Once you have a clear idea of their purpose, it will be easier to create their design and backstory.

For the character design, consider their physical appearance, clothing, and any unique characteristics that will help them stand out. For their backstory, think about their motivations, their relationships with other characters, and any significant events in their past that have shaped who they are. Thinking about what purpose these background characters have in relation to your main characters will help a lot with these answers!

Overall, the key is to make sure these characters are well-developed and have their own unique personalities and stories, even if they are only in the background. Good luck!
