Kye grinned at the glowing soul in his hands. He preferred this in comparison to Derlik burning down the entire McDonalds. The teen they were technically kidnapping seemed quite tired and depressed working there anyways. Now he had a friend that his dad could learn to be nice to as well. Unfortunately, if Derlik wasn't willing to give him a body, then there was no way he wanted to tell Wren. He would flip out hearing exactly how he casually had a soul to himself. "Don't worry, we're gonna have so much fun. And we can be friends too!" he told the soul.

Derlik chuckled as he watched Kye interact with the new soul, glancing at the crumpled body on the floor. Ah, the police would come up with an excuse. They always did. Derlik felt proud, seeing how Kye was handling the soul. It warmed his heart to know his son was able to do it so well, handle having one of his own now. Not just interacting with one of Derlik's many, many souls he had. Hell, even the boulder was a soul!
He hadn't told Kye, of course. He'd freak out knowing their home was mostly comprised of transformed souls.
"Let's get going, then! Lot's to do, lot's to do." The god offered his hand to Kye, smiling.

The teenager was in a somewhat state of shock. But anything beats working at McDonalds right? And since he didn’t have any real choice in the matter, he just let himself get dragged along by these….people??? They didn’t even know what they were.

Kye took his adoptive father's hand, grinning back. It felt so nice to no longer be scared of Derlik anymore. Sure, he had tortured him for years to the point he almost didn't mend emotionally, but then the god seemed to feel bad. Over time, things were better and now he was practically an equal to the other. Well, aside from being able to transform things and other powers. "I hope the police don't try and blow this off as a suicide. It'd make them look really stupid considering they have a hole in their body now," he mused with a small eye roll.

"True, very true. If anything, it'll end up being a cold case. If they don't find someone to pin this on." Derlik wasn't about to give Kye god status- it meant he wouldn't be able to grow anymore, be stuck like how he was forever. He wanted to give his son a good eternity, and that really did mean living his lives as a human.
Still, he was willing to lend his powers on occasion.
With Kye's hand in his, Derlik started walked, humming some. Then, as always happened, the world started to warp around them, twisting until they arrived back in the clearing in the woods.

Kye, at this point, really liked living in the woods. It… somehow still felt close to where he came from and there was also the fact that the forest was beautiful. The rock in the clearing was somehow calming to him when he sat against it. For some reason he felt uncomfortable sitting directly on it. Derlik never seemed to question him about it so he supposed it didn't really matter.
The boy ran off to go and speak with the boy they took the soul from.
"Sorry we had to take your soul. It was this or burning everyone inside down with the building… I promise dad is nice when you get to know him some!"

The teen just let out a long sigh. “Whatever. Am I stuck here now then?” They asked. The answer didn’t really matter much to him either way, he just wanted to know. I mean what can you expect from a kid who’s being forced to work a job they hate?

((Also my brain has decided the boi uses he/they pronouns, lemme know if it gets too confusing))

@Painted-Iris group

(Thanks for the notice! That works perfectly.)

Kye frowned at the response. He expected maybe some worry or perhaps anger. Confusion at least. Despite that, he wasn't entirely sure.
"Well… you aren't Claimed, but if I were to guess, probably?" he replied. The boy felt sad that the soul didn't seem to care about anything. At least if they were scared, he would have been able to console them. Whoever this person was didn't seem to like him one way or another.
"Do you… have a name? If you don't tell me, dad'll make me give you one and I'm not very good at it," he admitted, sheepishly, trying to keep a conversation going.

Derlik moved to his normal perch, on top of the boulder, looking over at the two as they spoke. He smiled, pulling one leg up as he watched his son and the tiny soul interacting. With a hum of satisfaction, he tilted his head, hands folding.
"You know, you're talking all of this quite well! Most new souls are more… Freaked out."

@Max_Miracle_DroppedMostOfTheirRPs

“Oh alright then.” They said, indeed seeming very calm about their current situation. The McDonalds has traumatized him too much for this to be anything of too much concern. “My name is Blake.” He replied to Kye’s question. They didn’t have a response to Derlik’s statement so they simply didn’t reply at all.

Kye tilted his head back, looking up at Derlik with a small smile. It wasn't as large as it was earlier. He wanted a friend, but it seemed the soul didn't want to be friends. And not in the 'you-just-kidnapped-me-why-should-we-be-friends' kind of way. "That's a nice name," Kye commented. He honestly thought it was somewhat strange, but that was only because he was getting used to certain things in the new century.

Derlik watched the two interacting, tilting his head a bit. It worried him some, to see Kye's smile fade. He'd have to have a talk with the soul later, figure out what's wrong with it. He wanted his son to have a nice little pet, er, friend, and this soul wasn't cutting it.
"I'm Derlik, god of chaos~" the god called out, laying himself prone on the boulder.

@Painted-Iris group

Kye seemed to feel better, hearing the soul - Blake - continue speaking. "And I'm his son, Kye. I'm still human, but dad told me it didn't matter," he chirped, seeming proud of the fact that he had such a cool parental figure. Despite the beginning few years. And the fact that he wasn't formerly seen as an equal. But that was in the past now.

@Max_Miracle_DroppedMostOfTheirRPs

Blake took a moment to process this, but found himself coming to believe it rather easily. “Well that does make sense I suppose. Considering everything that’s happened to me in the past hour. It is nice to meet the two of you.” They were managing to regain more of their emotions now, coming a bit out of the state of shock.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

Derlik smiled, twisting around to fold his arms under his chin as he laid on the boulder.
"It's nice to meet you too, deary~" Derlik hummed, tapping his fingers. Right now, Blake was going to go through something similar. He wasn't going to be seen as an equal by the god for some time..

@Painted-Iris group

Kye thought he understood what was going on now. The uninterested tone was just in place until they understood what exactly was happening. There was a tone that conveyed emotion coming from the soul now. "Nice to meet you too!" Kye returned, only to look back up at Derlik eagerly. "Dad, can we get them a body now? It's not fair for them to stay in soul form since we kidnapped him kinda," he begged, hoping Derlik would say yes.
