One of my characters in my sci-fi book has vitiligo and I want to know the most respectful way to describe his appearance. Anyone have any advice?

Lemme try my hand at it:

"A distinctive splash of unpigmented skin, standing out against his otherwise mahogany complexion, framed his dark eyes like a pale domino mask. The broad, long-fingered hands folded on his desk were similarly pale."

I mean, I wish I could offer something better than "character is implied to be attractive and/or charismatic; just so happens to have physical trait." But that's what sprung to mind.

Thank you!
