I'm writing a book where the government is the monarchy and has a queen and crowned princess. It is based off of the idea of the bachellorette (excuse my spelling) and she is to pick a suitor. I need some ideas of how things could fall apart… I do want their to be romance so don't say to kill her or any of the suitors lol :)

I would suggest if you want it to be realistic, something coming from the bottom of their power. It could be the bourgeoisie overpowering the pair of women for whatever reason, or the civilians rising up and overthrowing her for again, whatever reason. She wouldn't die, but she'd most likely be expelled/imprisoned if you wanted to go that way. You could do a lot with either outcome.

That's a really good idea accually. I was thinking that the 'town' (persay) of one of the suitors will try to overthrow the government and the queen is killed, leaving her with one of the advisors and the princess imprisoned.

I myself am writing something similar with an absolute power in a government so I've been planning on how to overthrow him, I've got a few ideas that has actually worked in world's history.
I think your idea and the logic behind it would work well, esp with the story. The twist of them betraying her family could be sooo good too!

I think so too! Yeah overthrowing a powerful monarch and making it realistic is hard. Thank you so much, I'm struggling a bit because I just finished my first book and I want to self publish but im a bit scared lol and my writers block is kicking my butt.
