@AAA_Batteries

Do whatever ya'll idc. I tend to write full paragraphs and typically expect the same. Other than that uh random bullshit go.

@AAA_Batteries

oh yeah sorry about that. my life went downhill. Luckily things are better now and I'm writing more than ever, so please don't worry. Do you have a specific genre you want to do?

@Fraust

It's fine! Dw about it ^^
I still like pretty much the same stuff, so modern semi-fantasy stuff, found family, all that good stuff
I still don't have a lot of characters lol, but I'm willing to make new ones
Anything in particular you'd like to do?

@AAA_Batteries

I mostly enjoy the process of writing, regardless of genre. What about something similar to what we did last time, where magic is illegal and one or both of the mcs are "criminal wizards", that could either be trying to secretly do good with their magic, or do something a bit more self-serving? Idk.

@Fraust

That's fine with me ^^ I might use Lumi again if that's okay, but if you'd prefer someone fresh that's fine too! I do have a new character in mind, and Nich is new too and would technically fit

@AAA_Batteries

I don't care who you use lol. I'll probably have a more aloof and/or self-serving character, so anyone who fits with that lol. Are you planning on doing a romance, friendship, even a coworker relationship? I'm pretty much fine with anything.

@Fraust

Name: Flicker (Flick, Flix) Hirsch
Age: 19
Gender: Genderfaun (He/They primarily)
Sexuality: Pansexual
Appearance: (this is the sketch so I'll color it tomorrow probably lol, just wanted to get him up)
(Extended) Flick is about 5'8 in his true form (deer faun), and about 5'5 in a human guise. They're covered head to toe in freckles, and in human form he still has spots on his legs resembling the spots on his deer legs. They have a tendency to get their antlers caught on things.

Personality: Flick is usually very friendly and he's a very gentle soul. They tend to be skittish and shy, especially when first meeting new people, and he's always worried that he'll be discovered. They're mostly just trying to get by in a world that is hostile towards them.
Likes: Hot chocolate, Salt, flannels, the forest, gardening, cooking, companionship, snow
Dislikes: Mint, Coffee, pants, getting his antlers caught on things, hot weather, the anti-magic government
Preferred "Type" of Magic: Nature magic and glamours/transformation (to appear human)
Backstory: I'm still working on it, but he was definitely born in the forest and moved to the city for some reason ^^;
Any other necessary info: Animals tend to really like him, and they love animals too, so it works out great. He hates blood and needles, and they always take care to be well groomed despite how inconvenient antlers are for brushing their hair

Name: Bea Silverdrop
Age: 21
Gender: Non-Binary
Sexuality: Bisexual
Appearance: Bea is the child of a demon and a human, so that makes Bea a half-demon. Bea doesn’t look the part, getting much more from their human father. They have black hair that constantly appears to be dusty. It’s probably dandruff, since their hair is such a frizzy mess that they don’t even bother with anymore. They have red eyes that get somehow more red with allergies, and a constant smirk. They prefer to wear modest, casual clothes, in contrast to most demons who wear uh less than so. (Picrew because I can’t draw shit) https://picrew.me/shareImg/org/202206/684058_RzRJha1A.png
Likes: Fish (alive or cooked), petty crime, money, whiskey
Dislikes: Children, bugs, entitled people
Preferred "Type" of Magic: Water magic. Anything including ice or water Bea is pretty competent in.
Backstory: Bea was born to a demon mother and a human father. Their mother was an assassin, and their father was a fish farmer. The two hated each other, and tensions rose up to the point where Bea’s father “mysteriously disappeared” at work. Their mother tried to explain that “us demons just have a need, that sometimes has to be filled.” Bea wouldn’t hear it, and at the age of 17, ran off and was adopted into a gang of wizard-criminals. They even have their own little corner in the shack. This little nook contains a hammock, a pile of clothes, and a fish tank containing a harlequin shark named Larry
Any other necessary info: Has a pretty good relationship with the other people in the shack. They try to respect the higher-ups, but can occasionally get into heated arguments due to their natural instinct to question authority. This typically ends with Bea being “put in place” by another wizard’s magic.

@AAA_Batteries

K, good to know. I'll have the starter be Flick's first day as a part of the gang, and Bea being tasked to show them around. I'll prolly have it up in a few minutes.

@AAA_Batteries

It was 9 AM, and Bea was being woken up to the usual sound of laughing, sorting money, and the occasional shot of rouge magic, echoing its way through the empty wooden halls of the shack. They called it a shack, but it was actually a series of complex underground tunnels made specifically for being able to house as much noise as possible without letting it escape into the busy city streets above. Apparently, it was called the shack for ambiguity, but Bea didn't really buy that. Their thoughts were interrupted by Maggot, the rough and tough boss of the place who would probably stab someone to death with a staff rather than use the spell inside.

"Hey, Demon kid. We've got some goat dude joining us. I trust you. Watch him, and make sure that he doesn't burn the place down or rat us out." Bea nodded, being sure to adjust their posture and make themselves look as formal as possible, especially when the new kid walks in. Bea walks over to them "Hey. Welcome to the shack. I'm Bea, and you're gonna listen to me for the next few days." Bea holds their hand out, anticipating a handshake.

@Fraust

Flicker appeared human as he entered the shack, but as soon as they were inside, he released the glamour to be in his true form. Their deer hooves clicked on the floor as he nervously followed the very intimidating Maggot over to Bea, who was thankfully a bit less scary. They faltered for a moment, blinking a couple of times before he smiled brightly and shook Bea's hand when it was offered to him. "Ah, hello! I'm Flick. It's nice to meet you!" They looked around at the other people who were in the shack. Maybe this was a place where he could be free and make friends who wouldn't hate him for magic. The possibility of fighting the government was pretty thrilling to them as well.

"I guess I'll be learning about this place from you, then?" They asked, turning back to Bea with their eyes wide with curiosity. "I've never seen so many magical people in one place before! Is there anything I should know? People I should avoid getting on the wrong side of?"

@AAA_Batteries

Bea shrugs. "There's not much goin' on around here, as long as you leave maggot and the bartender be, you should end up in one piece." Bea's eyes dart over to the bar, led by an old dwarf, with a long white beard and a cane that anyone who knew anything about magic could recognize as a staff. He sits back in his chair, pouring various drinks for people and floating them across the room to their tables. "He may look crippled, but he's the real chairman here. He's mastered every kind of spell, I'm sure." Bea then looks at maggot. "Maggot probably signed you up. Can't use spells, but sure can intimidate someone into doing just about whatever. He gets drunk too much." They smile. "There's a few other new kids, you can talk to them, if you need. For now though, you're staying with me." Bea thinks for a moment, tapping their fingers against the rim of Larry's tank, causing him to swim up and sniff where they're tapping. "How'd you find out about this place?"

@Fraust

Flick nodded along as Bea spoke, listening closely to everything they said. He really wanted to fit in here, and knowing about the other people was an easy first step. They were clearly fascinated by the bartender, and as much as he really wanted to pester him with questions about magic, they elected to leave him be for now. He didn't want to piss someone off, especially not on their first day. He could tell that Bea was fond of this place, and he smiled softly.

At the question, they faltered, not expecting to be addressed directly all of a sudden. He considered the answer, humming softly to himself. "Well, I ran into somebody in the woods. I wasn't disguised, so I was super lucky that he was part of this group instead of a hunter." They laughed nervously. "That would have been… not good for me. But anyway, he told me about this place, so I figured I'd check it out."

@AAA_Batteries

Bea listens to Flick, thinks for a moment, and furrows their brow. "Huh. That's odd. Most of us here are city rats, don't know anyone who would be out in the forest, n' I surely don't know anyone who'd just give us away to some random-ass deer. Maybe you're just supposed to be here, who knows." Bea looks around, Maggot and a few of the other more experienced wizards are leaving for some sort of mission. "I still don't know what they do out in the city. Probably some sort of crime. That's how we afford half this stuff, anyway. Speaking of which, want some whiskey?"

@Fraust

Flick tilted his head to the side a bit as he listened. They hadn't exactly asked the guy what he was doing in the forest, after all, so they didn't have any further information for Bea. At the offer of alcohol, he seemed confused. He'd never had any, nor were they sure that they were even of legal age to have it. But considering Bea was talking about fellow group members going out into the city to commit crimes, he didn't think the legality mattered too much. "Ah, sure. I've never had any before. Is it nice?" He asked in reply.

@AAA_Batteries

Bea was still scanning their mind for someone who both had an affinity for nature and who liked to run their mouth, but continuously drew a blank. Without thinking, Bea responded to Flick's question, almost like second nature. "Yeah. You can go order somethin'. I'd recommend lighter stuff. Just go up to scruffy and take whatever he gives you 'less you wanna start a fight." Bea shoos Flick toward the bar. "Go on, I have some personal business to deal with."
