Y'know how the classic colours relating to emotions are ones like-

Yellow is happy
Green is jealousy
Red is angry
Blue is sad?

Well I have different colours that I have for different emotions and I can 'see' them when I feel the emotion and I confused my friends by telling them this and they don't understand the colours I see

Does anyone else have different colours for emotions than the norm?

@ZephirFox8812

My colours that I can list at the moment are -

Happy - pink
Euphoria - magenta but not fully, only bubbles
Sadness - very very pale yellow
Anger - very very pale icy blue
Fear - yellowy green
Absolute paralysing fear - maroon
Hunger - tan
Jealousy - purple
Tiredness - it varies but usually navy or gold
Relaxed - Metallic silver (only ever metallic)

I also have colours for specific things like overly quiet music or whispers is white circles on a black background and loud music is black circles on a white background

Yep! It’s called synesthesia, and I have it, too! I have a thing called grapheme-color synesthesia and (forgot the real name of it) sound syn. I can see letters as different colors, and different sounds have different colors. I also associate colors with people! It’s an interesting situation in which certain parts of your brain are directly connected, and certain receptors get multiple signals (i think, but feel free to correct me if i’m wrong)

(personally, I can’t— I just associate sounds with colors. But there are people with more severe syn that totally can. It’s a rad concept that people don’t research much)

I was reading up on it and grapheme-colour synesthesia sounds fascinating! Can you tell me what its like for you? I'd honestly love to research synesthesia more deeply.

awesome! And sure, I’ll totally describe it—

I have it lesser than most people— Many with more severe cases can actually physically see the colors of the letters/words as they write/read them. For me, however, every time I picture a letter or think of it, it automatically has a color, for some reason.
For example: E is green / F is orange-ish yellow / J is pink / N is red / K is white / W is brown / etc.

That's so interesting

I ended up standing still on the walkway today after your original message and just listening to a songbird sing and everytime it went to a different type of noise, hearing the colours change from yellow to green to purple to light blue and then I had to keep moving because someone looked at me like I was insane

Wow, I might actually have this too, but not just feelings really. Somehow sarcasm is dark purple.
