@ElderGod-Carrots

Hm not currently. I have a couple in case we don't find any online and a short sci-fi vignette we could develop? But is there anything you're particularly interested in right now?

@callycat

I've got a couple short ideas too, but nothing's super fleshed out yet. I've been thinking about maybe doing something with vampires that has like… intricate clans that each come with their different advantages and disadvantages that's sort of loosely based on a table top game I like, but if that's not your cup of tea I'd like to hear what you've got.

@ElderGod-Carrots

No honestly that sounds cool. I don't think I've ever written anything like that before so I'm willing to give it a shot, it sounds pretty cool so why not.

@callycat

Nice! I think it's kind of fun to translate old ttrpgs to a more free form rp setting, so this is kind of a fun way to experiment with that! Give me a second to lay out the clans!

@callycat

Gangrel: These guys are kind of the cannibalistic bad boy vampires. They're way more in touch with their monstrous nature, but this makes them volatile and often hot tempered. Other vampiric clans typically use them for security as they tap into the 'super strength/super speed' powers most vampires are portrayed with, though a few are also granted the ability to commune with, control, and even transform into animals

Malkavians: A mad prophet archetype combined with the 'all seeing/all knowing' powers that vampires are sometimes given. These vamps are almost always seen as insane, tormented by a strange madness that runs along their bloodlines. This madness, although difficult to manage and often painful, gives them immense power. A Malkavian can see into the future and the minds of others, with a few, through study, learning to control it.

Toreador: Your stereotypical sexy vampire with a dash of beautiful tragedy tossed in for flavor. Their blood is imbued with the power to attract and capture the eye (or do the opposite and intimidate away any attention), and like the malkavians they can often mesmerize other people into following their commands. They have a fixation with the beautiful things of the world and tend to fixate on certain aesthetics they find appealing. Some may unlock the superhuman speed associated with vampires.

Ventrue: These are kind of just toreadors with a different aesthetic, tbh. They can mesmerize the mind or command the masses, and some have mastered the art of turning their skin as impenetrable as iron. These are the vamps who like to act as puppet masters in the shadows, the ancient noblemen and corporate harasses whose power in life has simply shifted underground to give them power in death. Cold, distant manipulators with a fascination for wealth and luxury.

Tremere: These guys are the sorcerers and scientists of the vampiric world, blessed with a magic no other clan can claim: blood sorcery. There are limits to this dark art, of course, but using it they can do a lot that the others clans simply can't: controlling the weather, creating weapons from the blood in their bodies, controlling another person by forcing them to consume their blood. They're keen of mind and often delve into darker secrets best left unturned.

Thin-bloods: These are the day walkers, the half vamps who were turned by creatures with blood too thin to properly turn them. They can walk in daylight and enjoy life (for the most part) as normal people do, with the minor hitch that they're immortal creatures who require blood to survive. Thin-bloods have only limited access to the power of a full vampire and can't master their powers, but also have the freedom to walk in sunlight and live among humans freely without feeling the urge to tackle them and drain all their blood. Or… not feeling the urge as strongly, at least.

Alright, so these are like… the basic blurbs. Sorry if they're a little messy, I wanted to get them out kind of fast.

@callycat

I forgot to mention that thin bloods are kind of outsiders because they're seen as lesser vampires so they're shunned by most of the other clans and sometimes hunted down and killed (or at least marked with a tattoo/brand to identify them as thin blood) so it's kind of risky business living life as one.

I think there are a few different things that might be fun, lol. The way things usually work is that the older your vampire is the more power they have, so we could do something where it's a newly turned vampire being introduced to society by the vamp that turned him. We could also do a pair of thin bloods trying to make it on the mean streets together, or maybe a sort of forbidden love thing before a vampire and a human?? Idk, there are a lot of possibilities. I think vampire/vampire might be more fun, but it's really all up to you.

Oh! Maybe it's two vampires from rival clans who fall in love? Idk, lots of choices like I said.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Oo I like all those ideas. Vamp/vamp could be fun from rival clans, and if one was a thin-blood it would up the drama. Kind of like a romeo and Juliet scenario where, it's like a forbidden love thing. We could also expand on that and add more drama idk like a war or some other shit.

@callycat

Oh heck yeah! In the source material there's something like that going down between the fancy posh vampires (toreadors, ventrue) and the sort of rebel bad boys (gangrel) with the malkavians and the tremere sitting off to the side, pretty split down the middle. I think a full fledged vamp and a thin-blood could be really fun, especially if the thin-blood is more experienced/has been alive longer than the full vamp.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Yes! That would be so cool (and honestly I feel like the full vamp might be hell mad for this half-vamp being more experienced but comes to terms with it). I think that would be hella cool

@callycat

Oh totally! And the full vamp would be all snooty about it too to try and cover up that they're 1) actually a lot weaker, lol and 2) mad crushing. Do you wanna be the full vamp or the thin-blood?

@callycat

Tbh I think either would be pretty fun. I'm kind of leaning towards the thin-blood but idk if I'd do them justice.

@callycat

Alright, I'll do my best to rp them then! What sort of pairing do you want (like bxb, gxg, bxg)? Also I should probably send a template, shouldn't I?

@ElderGod-Carrots

Yeah probably, I can find one too if you need. I'm comfortable writing anything, so it's more what you're comfortable with otherwise I can pick.

@callycat

I don't really have a template on hand, so it would be great if you could find one. tbh I just don't really wanna do bxg, beyond that I'm happy.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Here's a temp, and bxb then?

@callycat

Name: Cyprus Yanovitch
Age: 25 (looks), 126 (actual)
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Demisexual/biromantic
Clan: Thin-Blooded
Appearance: Cyprus is a handsome guy—handsome enough to attract the attention few a certain overconfident vampire. He's all tanned skin and lean muscle and golden eyes. They've gone catlike in his "old age", black slits down the middle that get all big and blown out when he's excited. His hair—black, starting to get streaked through with grey even though the rest of him is as young as ever—falls to his shoulders and is constantly pulled back in a low ponytail. A brand marks the back of his neck, a crescent moon of scarred flesh. The mark of a thin-blood. It's surrounded by a tattoo, small brown branches laden with wooden berries. On his forearm there are three flowers, an orchid, a white rose, and a chrysanthemum. They are dated 1944, 1983, and 1996 respectively.
Personality: Cyprus does his best to keep the horrors of the world at arm's length and as such, he's learned quite a few things about self control and patience. He keeps his heart well guarded, but tries not to show it in order to avoid scrutiny. It takes a lot to shake him these days and even more to actually work him up into a frenzy because he's gotten quite effective at compartmentalizing, but make no mistake. If you push him enough, he will go onto the defensive, and then you'll figure out that even thin-bloods can pull on the power of the blood if you work them up enough. All in all, he's a long-suffering guy who can put up with just about anything until his temper snaps and he's left in a rage from which it is incredibly difficult to break him until whatever caused it is taken care of (read: mauled).
Clothing: He dressed for comfort and convenience: well worn jeans, broken in hiking boots, flannels, and an oversized ww1 bomber jacket. Everything else is liable to change with the seasons but the jacket always stays because it's not only a memento from his older brother, it also hides the brand on the back of his neck. Nice two for one deal, plus it looks pretty sick.
Weapons: He's always got a gun in the handy dandy concealed holster at his side and a knife or two hidden in his boots. One of these is usually wooden because a two in one wooden stake/dagger is surprisingly helpful
Likes: Technology (he's fascinated with it), history books (especially the ones about history he lived through), drawing (he enjoys recording his life)
Dislikes: Other vampires, animals (they hate him), losing control of himself, when people encroach on his territory, snoops/gossips/anyone else who wants to pry into his life.
Fears: That he'll lose one of his few living relatives, that he'll kill someone who's important to him
Background: In development, lol. Here are some bullet points.

  • Born in the late 1890s, dad dipped but mom stuck it out raising him, his older brother, and his little sister.
  • Brother gets drafted to ww1 and all that got sent back were his ashes, an american flag, and his bomber jacket.
  • Mother checked out after brother's death leaving him to raise baby sister until…
  • He fell in love with this guy who (oopsies) turned out to be a vampire who just couldn't bear to live without him and accidentally cursed him to this half-dead misery of thin-blooded life. To add insult to injury, he was promptly ditched after the vampire realized he'd sired a thin-blood instead of a "real" vamp.
  • From there it's all brushes with other vampires that leave him with lesson after lesson in the art of defending himself and staying far away from the others of his kind, as much as you can call them his kind.

Other: He has a ramshackle little house on the edge of a shitty suburb that he's unreasonably proud of. This is his secret lair.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Name: Bryce Aldin
Age: 21 (looks) 43 (actual age)
Gender: Male
Sexuality: bi-sexual, leans towards man
Clan: Toreador
Appearance: Bryce has soft, golden blonde hair the is darker at his routes, soft and usually unkempt unless on the rare occasion he runs a little gel through it to try and keep it out his way. Usually, however, he doesn't care. His eyes are a bright blue, maybe even too bright. He has long lashes to go with them. His complexion is practically perfect bar a tiny little mark on the edge of his left eyebrow. His skin is pale, the classic vampire like pale that he doesn't mind, he prefers it over a tan, anyway. He has a strong jawline and well defined body, however the only let down is his height, falling bellow the average for a full grown male. He's sometimes presumed 'innocent' however he is far from that and will make it known at a drop of a hat.
Personality: Bryce is.. he likes to act confident, likes to make people respect him. He can come off as cocky sometimes, hot headed, quick to get mad and riled up and something he knows he needs to control. All in all he tries to keep his real emotions hidden. He's lonely, deeply so and craves affection, the good kind. He'd had his far share of flings in his life time but none of them lasted. None of them wanted more then just sex. Of course he could have easily tried to manipulate someone, but for some reason he actually had a set of morals that were really starting to fuck him over, however he couldn't shake them off. He puts up the front that he's unbothered, uncaring, just living life casually because he knows he has a long life ahead of him, but he really just wants someone to share it with. if you hadn't guessed, his secretly a very big romantic to some it up.
Clothing: Tries to keep it simple yet classy, plain black pants with a button up white shirt, the top buttons undone. He has a navy blue jacket to go with and accompanies the whole outfit with sets of chains and sparkly jewellery, switching it out when he wants to because why not, the shinier the better. Black boots which, even though they might not go with the outfit, somehow work.
Weapons: Keeps sets of daggers and knives on him at all times, in his boots or in his belt and jacket line. Doesn't hold much more then that.
Likes: Peace and quiet, books (especially shakespear or any romance book), painting - mainly landscapes and works in water colour.
Dislikes: rain, oil paints, his family however he'd never mention that to anyone unless they had his complete trust, people who under estimate him
Fears: large bodies of water, he'll end up alone forever
Background: Basic over view because I'm tired and lazy right now: Grew up in a wealthy household as the youngest of six children. Three older brothers and two older sisters. Was always the most disliked in the house hold and had to constantly prove himself. Moved out as soon as he could into his own place, a fairly large one over looking a valley and a mountain range, one he paints quite often. It's fairly close to the nearby city though and he will often walk down when it gets dark and go to a club or wander because why not. He'll often take pictures of the surrounding areas to paint and has been doing so all his life.
Other: Has to wear glasses however usually he just wears contacts (something he is not proud of at all) if he's home he'll wear them however no one else knows of his eye condition since well, full blooded vamp and all.

(aww I love him! Sorry this took so long I had to go to a party)
