What if you and your character(s) sat down across from each other and just…had a conversation?

Rules
Pick one character or a set of characters that go together and can answer questions as a unit.
Feel free to do this as many of these as you want!
Have a conversation with your characters! Don't just robotically ask questions :) Discuss their replies with them, at least a little. Pretend they're really sitting across from you.
Be as in-depth as you'd like! Feel free to elaborate as much as you want in your discussion surrounding each question.
As you're talking to your character, take down notes of their body-language. How did they react to the question? Are they being honest when they answer that you an tell? Are they comfortable in this environment, or not?

Lastly, @Young-Dusty you are legally forbade from reading Paint's interview. I'll post the questions separately if you want to do this, but ya gonna have to go example-less :)

Questions

EXCUSE ME THIS IS SO SMART BUT I KIND OF SONT UNDERTAND THE QUESTION PART BUT WHATEVER

Characters used: Zayn and Autumn, because they can be being interviewed as like…heirs? Idk
(Doing this STORY STYLE >:3
I ruffled my skirt as I took my seat, microphone In hand, pulling up my tablet and keyboard, floating in the air with a dazzling golden gradient from my powers. I faced the camera, all eyes on me, unknowing of the special guests we had for today's air time. I smiled to the camera as I got a thumbs up that we were live.
"This is Sunny Radiance with The Morning-Glory News Show, Live from Appollous Capital! Today I have a very special treat for you today! All the way from Corre we have a pair of special sliblings!" As the camera turned the in-house audience clapped, whooping and hollaring as Autumn and Zayn Regalmann came on screen. They waved, smiling as they audience quelled. We looked to eachother, and I hoped the audience couldn't tell how nervous they were.
"Today they've come all the way to Rhayan Tower after a very eventual day yesterday to tell us a little bit about themselves. But first, I must ask, how ~was~ the Coronation? You both looked lovely in Corre yesterday, along with King CD and Duchess Rhys." Both went to open mouth, then went quiet to the other speak, leaving I and the audience to giggle. Autumn smiled, sitting up straighter. "Well, it was…a lot, I suppose, to take in. But we had a great day, nothing went wrong." She said. Her arms laid in her lap, crossed but relaxed, much calmer than her brother. He gave a nod, back straight, crown balanced perfectly on his head.
"Now, we don't have all morning, so let's right to it. Tell us about yourselves, how does it feel to be following in your parents footsteps?"
Zayn answered this time.
"It's a bit odd to think this time last year we weren't sure if we would get to. We're happy to take over for them after everything that has happened in the past ten years." "It defiantly has been a dark decade for Paxlion, we as a country are thrilled to see you and your spouses grow in your reign. Speaking of, where are the King and Duchess?"
"Oh, they are off doing interviews just like us. It would have CD and I, and Zayn and Rhys, but it seems people want to see I and my brother." Autumn explained, to which I nodded. "Of course, any combination would work." I joked. Only Autumn laughed, Zayn just gave a smile.
"Next, how long do you plan on staying in reign?" Zayn grabbed Autumn's hand as she rose it, bringing it down and holding it. "As long as needed."
"Of course, Your Grace. Will you and your spouses be having any children soon?" I realized maybe that was a bad question, catching the Queen' s flinch.
"Well…I'm unable to bear child, so I and CD will be adopting, soon. Possibly next year. We want to settle in before anything like that, we are only teenty-one right now."
"Oh your highness, that's awful, we all understand. Becoming a mother, no matter how, is a big thing! What about you, Grand Duke Zayn?" He stayed quiet for a moment.
"Well…I and my wife have not discussed it yet. We will, of course, do not worry, just maybe a bit later than Autumn and CD." I nodded, noticing him tense back up.
"Yes, understandable. We can't wait to meet them one day." His smile deemed true at that.
"I have only a few more questions, one of those are how did you two feel about getting your Charms?" It got still for a moment, even in the audience.
"Well, I wasn't expecting to be assigned the Death Charm in all honesty. Getting used to the gloves will take some time, but I'm sure eventually I will forget they're even there." Autumn said, holding up her hand, showing off the gauntlet. It was of gold and had black jewels adorning it, dazzling in the state lights.
"They're beautiful, the same pattern as your father's were if I remember correctly?" She nodded.
"I had them designed the same as his, other than a few things they're exactly the same."
"Gourgous, your highness." We both looked to Zayn.
"Uhm," He cleared his throat. "I was assigned Balance, it's a new Charm. So I have to wear a glove on only one hand once I learn to keep my power halved."
"It's very interesting, have you noticed anything different about yourself since you Bore it?"
"No, not yet. I still have connection to my Ice Tribe, Father said I may not loose it."
"I'm sure you wish to. One's Prior Tribe is a precious thing. Speaking , I have a more…sensitive question. If you wish not to answer you have every right to. But we've noticed the absence of Princess Mara, is she…upset?"
"No! No, not at all." Zayn said, shaking his head.
"Mara was ill, shes been so for a few days. Nothing too serious but she was too weak to stay out for that long is all."
"What's wrong, is she ok?"
"She will be. We think it's from extra essence till in her bloodstream. No reason to worry. And she's not angry about anything, she's quite content with staying with her husband." Autumn assured, smiling. Her fingers tapped on the table nervously.
"I apologize for assuming."
"Nothing wrong with questions, you're fine." She said.
"Well, I have one more question. What will your first decrees be as Queen and Grand Duke?" Zayn smiled.
"Sorry Mrs. Radiance, but we can't answer that."
"All is well! Before the two of you leave, is there anything you want to say to any children about to get their Charms next week during Bearing Week?"
"Oh, yes!" Autumn said, smiling. She looked to the camera.
"I just ant you to know, that sometimes you may not get what you want. I fully expected to take my Mother's Charm yesterday, but I didn't, I was chosen by the Death Charm. It was scary at first, but you need to know and accept power. Death or Life Clan, your power was meant for you, it makes you who you are. Never be afraid of it." When she turned back to me I smiled.
"No truer words. I may be a Sun Triber, but I know how hard it is to get used to your power. Anything to say your Grace?" I asked Zayn. He nodded.
"Power is new to every ten year old, and just as Autumn said, it can be scary. When you've never done something before of course it is. But Trust yourself, your power is natural, you'll understand it the more you study it." He encouraged. As the time came to a close we stood, I bowed to them, and watched them walk off stage.
Our country was finally in safe hands I hoped.

Thistookanhouroops. Also Sunny isnt supposed to me, I didn't really it right, sorry :

@Oakiin

Hey this is really cool! :D No worries about doing it right or wrong, as long as you benefited from it and had fun it's all good! I liked reading about your characters, in such a fun, unusual setting :)
Just for clarification, in case you want to do it again ever, or are simply curious:
All you have to do is just have you, the author, and your character(s) sit down across from each other as you ask them the questions above and have a conversation about it! But either way, I'm glad you had fun! :D It doesn't matter how you do it as long as it works haha

Ngl I might do it over, just bot rn lol I just woke up! Also I'm happy you like my characters, there's usually a lot of explaining needed (Charm, Tribes, City and Character names represent power) but I just ignored it and B.C. went on, I love writing Autumn and Zayn's anyways and I having had them as rituals yet even tho it's like?? IMPORTANT??

Can You Introduce Yourself to Me?

"Yeah, sure! I'm Destrian, Crown Prince of Sa'ekka."

1a. What do they look like? How are they sitting there? Are they fidgeting?

He has dark brown skin and brown eyes. His hair is short and slightly curly from running his hand through it all the time. He's sitting with straight posture, looking directly at me. He is fidgeting constantly, running a hand through his hair, glancing around, bouncing his leg. He definitely isn't used to sitting still.

You win one million dollars in the lottery. What do you buy? What do you do?

"Well, I don't need that much money. I'm already rich enough, being a prince and all. I don't need one million more coin. I'd give it to the kingdom."

2a. What was their reaction?

Not surprised. Laughing a little as he answered, glancing "offstage" again, possibly at someone he knows standing there.

Someone pushed you on the street, maybe by accident, maybe on purpose. What do you do? How do you react?

"If it was an accident, I just pick myself back up, apologize, and leave. If it was on purpose, I don't know. Punch him?"

3a. What was their reaction?

Again, laughing. He's a man who can laugh at himself easily and make jokes.

Who would star as you in a movie about you?

"Oh, goodness…um…Tyrel Williams, probably. People say I look like him."

What’s the last thing you laughed at?

"This interview and before that, my husband, Sadon. I forget why, he just…makes me laugh."

5a. What was their reaction?

Smiling, looking offstage once again. Slightly happier with less fidgeting when he mentions his husband.

What do you think about me, knowing I created you, crafted your history, and everything about you?

"…absolutely and utterly terrifying. It means there's a being even greater than the gods we have. I know they exist because, well, I met one once. It's scary."

6a. What was their reaction to all of that?

His fidgeting picked back up. His leg was bouncing more than before and he did look nervous.

Well, thank-you so much for coming and having this talk!

"Of course. Thanks for inviting me!"

7a. How do they leave?

He leaves with a small wave, walks out calmly except towards the end when he smiles again and hugs someone.

@Young-Dusty-the-Monarch-of-Dusteria group

Character: 10-year-old Robin "Bobbie" Raphael

  1. "Can you introduce yourself to me?"
1a. What do they look like? How are they sitting there? Are the fidgeting?
She's very still, her hands gripping the edges of her seat, watching me from behind a tousled curtain of grey hair. Her clothes are too big and very old, and her thin, pale limbs contrast with the hugeness of her dark eyes. Her knuckles are scraped and she is unsmiling.
    "My name is Bobbie."
Two things are clear by her tone. One, she's trying to sound older and braver than she really is. Two, she does not trust me, and is making no effort to hide that fact. She may not know how.

  2. "Suppose you win one million dollars in the lottery. What do you buy? What do you do?"
    2a. What was their reaction?
Her gaze flickers momentarily with interest, then suspicion. "What do I have to do to get the money?"
"You don't have to do anything," I reply patiently. "You put your name in a big box and the judges pick it out randomly. The money's your prize."
After a moment, she decides to accept this fantastical story. "I'd buy an island and live on it, and I wouldn't let anybody but my family come visit. But first I'd buy a ton of food. And an ipod. And a bomber jacket and a new backpack and an army knife."

  3. "Okay. Now suppose someone pushed you on the street, maybe by accident, maybe on purpose. What do you do? How do you react?"
    3a. What was their reaction?
Her brows furrows very slightly, and she thinks about it. "I'd run."
    "Why is that?"
"'Cause they could be trying to mug me. Or distract me from something."
"What could they be distracting you from?"
"Well….if they had a buddy coming up behind me, or a camera, or whatever."
    "Why don't you like cameras?"
Her expression darkens. "You know why. They're dangerous. For people like me."
I decide to pursue the question no further. I did have to promise her safety and anonymity before she agreed to this interview, and I wouldn't want to break that promise.

  4. "Who would star as you in a movie about you?"
She tilts her head, then gives me a faint, sly grin. It's the first sign of friendliness she's shown since she arrived. "Billie Eilish."
They look almost nothing alike, aside from their fair skin. Bobbie is too young, rake thin, angular, lacking in poise. But I don't object. "Why her? You know she's not an actress, right?"
She shrugs. "Yeah. But she had grey hair for a while, like me." She tugs a strand of her hair proudly. "Plus she's scary."
I make no comment on that.

  5. "What’s the last thing you laughed at?"
    5a. What was their reaction?
She looks unsure for a moment, rocking back in her chair. At least now she seems slightly more relaxed in my presence, enough to take her eyes off me while she thinks.
"A comic book," she decides eventually, then falls silent as if the question bores her.

  6. "What do you think about me, knowing I created you, crafted your history and everything about you?"
6a. What was their reaction to all of that?
She goes still again, the razor-sharp stare returning. "I don't believe you. You're not part of my family. You didn't create me."
"I don't mean it like that," I explain gently. "I'm a storyteller. I imagined you and wrote your story, a long time ago."
She scoffs. It's a response a cynical adult would usually have, not a little girl. "You're crazy."
"Let's say, just for fun, that I'm not. Is there anything you'd say to me?"
She glares stubbornly for another moment. At this point, there's nothing relaxed or friendly about her body language. "….If you did write my story…..I'd make you change a lot of things. I'd make you. I bet I could hurt you pretty bad if you didn't."
I ignore the blatant threat. Her aggression is justified. "What would you make me change?"
She leans forward and hisses, "I'd make you erase everybody, except my family. Even the good people. Then we could do whatever we wanted, and live anywhere, and eat all the food and have loud parties and I could even go out alone if I felt like it and not have to worry. And I'd make you erase yourself last." She speaks with a venom that's childish but still very intense, clearly designed to upset me.

  7. But I don't have the grace to be intimidated, or ashamed, or even defensive. Instead, I smile as if she'd said nothing at all. "All right. Thank-you so much, Bobbie, for coming and having this talk. I think that's enough for today."
    7a. How do they leave?
She lingers long enough to sneer contemptuously, then springs up from the chair and storms out. She really does resemble a storm, gusting speedily across the room with her coat and hair billowing like dark clouds. She's through the door so fast, it's as if a gale pushed her through, giving her enough lift to avoid touching the floor altogether. I watch her go with a mixture of guilt and jealousy—I long for her youthful energy, but it's energy I gave her so she would survive her harsh reality. To envy her is to grossly disrespect everything she's been through.

Sighing, I turn to the cameras and live audience, forcing a smile. "Well folks, I hope you enjoyed that interview, because frankly it made me feel like a monster."
