forum Can someone tell me if this is a good idea for a story?

So I came up with an idea for a story about a "community"/cult. the revolves around these two girls who are both parts of it and have to go through tons of manipulation, gaslighting and abuse for the chance to advance within the social hierarchy of this "Community." while one of them at the end realizes that they are in a cult the other advances and buys into the lies given.
I am basing what happened within the story on actual events that happened to me while I was actually indoctrinated into a cult. I thought that if I could write out a story like mine but with a happy ending it would make the pain in me dissipate a little. If this a stupid idea or has been done before I would really like to know so.

I don't think that this has ever been done before, at least to my knowledge. I think that this would be a very interesting story, and the details would be realistic because you have lived through it yourself. I also think it may help you come to terms with what happened. :)

This is a fantastic idea, and it sounds like you're the right person to write it. Go for it!
