forum Backstory for a musician character?

I'm just curious, honestly. My character is a 17 year old girl who wants to spread powerful messages to others through her music.
She's a bit of a perfectionist when it comes down to her career, she always thinks that even her best performance isn't her best, that she needs to improve even when others find her talented. That sorta sums her up.

Any backstory ideas?

Why don't you make this perfectionism stem for going to a "prestigious school" were she was forced to be perfect in every way, so she ended like this. Maybe there was teacher she looked up to that also loved her, but that still asked too much of her, plus maybe she just wanting to impress them by being the best at everything.
