Hello everybody!

I really need help writing out this idea for a power one of my characters has. I’d just like to practice writing what it would be like in a story/rp setting. I don’t have storyline ideas, but I can find some if I get any takers. I’m thinking more of a supernatural/dark dystopian setting, maybe. But, if you want some secondary genres, that’s totally welcome. Romance? Of course. Comedy? Sure! Post-apocalyptic? Absolutely. Mystery? Let’s find out.
We’ll probably get everything situated once someone shows interest.

Rules:

Be relatively active pls :3
Rated whatever is fine (for language, actions, etc) / whatever you’re comfortable with. (This rp will probably lean more toward mature)
3+ sentences, pls
GrAMmaR
No controlling someone else’s character
We can chill in pm’s if we need to
No OP pls. Or maybe yes OP. Depends

((here you go! this one was written kind of late at night? which means it's either some of my best work, or more subpar work, and i really have no idea which))

Norwood Academy had the look of a mansion surrounded by mini mansions, and was any dark academia enthusiast's greatest dream.

But it was no ordinary private school. Within the doors of the school lay plenty of secrets, as expected of a school of such great standing. And those secrets wrapped themselves like pretty ribbons around the students, who weren't there to become politicians and bankers and CEOs. The students who entered Norwood as protectors, attackers, tech geniuses and masters of espionage. The students of Norwood were training to be spies.

Most of them, that was.

There were always bad students, Norwood was just good at weeding them out early. Which was why nobody could figure out how such an esteemed school, that expected so much of it's students, would allow the enrollment or continued teachings of one student. A student who was solely known, to the general populous of students and even staff, as Canary.

The student in question was currently on her way to the director's office, a pair of repeatedly confiscated headphones in her ears and a hairbrush running through her tangled curls. It was late, classes were finished–night classes weren't on Tuesdays–and everyone was settling down for lights out.

Which was what made the summons that two students had received so strange.

Each student, on the day of enrollment, was given a handful of essential devices. One of the most important, though, was a small, phone-like device. It allowed communications with other students, with teachers, and with staff, functioning to alert students of class changes, mission availability, and anything else that came up.

And, on occasion, it was a way for the director to get ahold of certain students. Students, for example, like Canary, and Aaru Kerr.

The former made her way into the main office, instructed by the school secretary to have a seat and wait for 'Mr. Kerr' before the director would see them. So she did, plopping down and continuing to bob slightly to the music she was playing.

((ah, i don't really have much? this is the character i'm probably going to use, and she can fit into most dystopian settings, though anything involving heroes, particularly anti-heroes, fits her the best))

@croccin-champagne

((a vigilante type story works perfectly, and offers quite a few opportunities for Top Tier scenes you can only get from stories that allow for violence on some level. as for secondary genre, what do you mean by that? like, pairing dystopian with fantasy or something?))

@LittleRiver local_movies

(Yeah, basically. Like probably supernatural/dystopian will be our main genres, but we could mix something else in there like Victorian Era or Steampunk or post-apocalyptic. Mainly just for setting purposes, but if we wanted a romance or mystery, that could also be slipped in)

@croccin-champagne

((oooohhh, i get it now! sorry, i'm unfortunately slightly slow sometimes. osora's from a futuristic tokyo, which offers a setting and second genre, and she could honestly fit well into a steampunk or post apocalyptic, because of her think with clocks and gearwork. if i had to pick, i'd say post apocalyptic, solely because it allows for a lot more range within a specific ruling. if that makes like, any sense at all, because i'd get if it sounds like i'm just spouting bull at this point))

@LittleRiver local_movies

(Yeah, totally makes sense, no problem! Vigilante futuristic Tokyo post-apocalyptic supernatural dystopian. That sounds like a handful but hey, I’m up for it if you are. Do you have any preference on what kind of post-apocalyptic it would be? Like is it the stereotypical desert wasteland dilapidated buildings or is it more of a no-humans, plants have overgrown everything, and the world is healthier now? Or something else. If that makes any sense lol)

@croccin-champagne

((probably wasteland, if only for the sake of a it more people and that desperation some people get in bad situations. though, i'd expect there would be plenty of large and even close knit communities formed, ykno, for the good of people? especially seeing as japan is very family oriented. only problem is, not everyone has the same set of morals….which is just what we need lmao. how long ago would the societal collapse have happened? would our characters have witnessed it, or only been born during or after?))

@LittleRiver local_movies

(Age range, I’m thinking probably late teens to early twenties. And that would be great if you could fill out the template, but you don’t have to! I’ll go grab it anyway.)

Full Name:
Tokino Osora

Nicknames/Aliases:
Toki, Scythe. Goes by Tokino to people who don't know her well, obviously.

Age:
19

Gender:
Female

Occupation:
A whole vigilante hero, though hero can be used loosely. Kinda commits crime a lot to solve crime. She also works with her family, who supply food to a lot of different groups.

Personality:
Most people would tell you she has none, beside being scary. In reality, she's very loyal to her family and friends, and will go out of her way to save people and uphold the justice system she believes in. She's self sacrificing to a fault, willing to lay down her life or put it at risk at the drop of a hat. Loves learning. Can be super sweet, when she wants to be. But also has a tendency towards 'minorly terrifying', the main example being in her only accessible smile.

Mannerisms:
Resting scary face. Like, she always seems to look slightly terrifying unless she's putting effort into looking…normal?
Her right index finger taps when she's thinking. If not that, then she's snapping the hair tie on her wrist lightly and rhythmically.
That scary ass smile.
Cant sit still, which shows in the snapping of her hair tie, looking around, chewing on the inside of her cheek, tapping out nonsense in Morse-Code, and moving things around.

Hobbies:
Training.
Writing.
Learning instruments and languages.
Reading.
Hanging out with her family.
Ballet.
Keeping up on crime, which she considers a hobby somehow.

Physical Appearance:
The image in her profile is drawn by the lovely ninja_violinist here on notebook, and is seriously the most accurate image I've seen to represent my dear Osora.

Naturally, her hair is pure white. She lets her older sister dye the tips black in a sort of dip dye/ombre type thing. It falls to around her shoulders. Fairly short, but just long enough to be pulled into a short ponytail when she's training or needs it back on the job.

Put simply, her eyes are red. Less simply, it's usually a dark red that, in the right lighting, can almost pass for brown. It takes on a brighter and creepier red, with an almost sort of glow, when she's using her ability.

Her skin tone is olive, if a bit darker.

Her body type is generally small, a mix of curve and muscle, though slender and lean because of ballet.

Covered in scars that stand out on her skin, from opening up her skin to draw blood, or pull bone. They're usually fairly small.

Often found with at least a few bandages/bandaids slapped over fresh cuts.

Her smile is often wielded like a weapon, sometimes cold and unfeeling, sometimes angry and scalding, but always sharp. This refers to her smiles she uses while hero-ing, but the sharpness carries into her normal smiles more often than not.

Heavy bags and dark shadows under her eyes.

She's also. 5'3

Normal Attire / Gear:
Casual: Usually sticks to muscle tanks, and tank-tops in general. The more skin showing, the easier it is to draw blood or pull bone from underneath the skin. If she absolutely must, she'll toss on a zip up hoodie that's either black or red, easier to hide stains.
Her favorite shirt is one her little brother got her, a black muscle tank with, full joke intended, a skeleton design on it, sort of emulating an x-ray of her spine and ribs.
As mentioned earlier, the more skin, the better for her power. Meaning, she tends to go with jean shorts, often frayed, or ripped jeans. She's always preferred pants over skirts, though she might wear the occasional circle skirt if she's feeling it.
Combat boots are her defacto choice in footwear, this worn pair of black boots her mother bought her. Her sister once replaced the laces of the left boot with red ones instead of black, and she's too busy to bother changing them back. Likes flip-flops as an alternative, strappy sandals if she's worried she'll run into trouble. Keeps a drawstring bag on her, no jewelry minus her piercings.

Hero: A cropped and sleeveless hoodie, with muscle tank-esque sleeve holes. Mostly black, with red lining the hem of the hood. Doesn't have any sort of brand or symbol yet, obviously. Black shorts, sorta split up the sides to allow access to her legs, but with red lacing to keep from, y'know, flashing the entire goddamn world. They're a sort of legging-like material, but a bit more sturdy. Shoe-wear is a sort of gladiator-style sandal but designed to be waaay better for movement, because we all know those damn things ain't. In black, obviously. Mask is simple and like an edgier(literally. more corners) version of Green Arrow's??? In red though.

Power(s):
Manipulation of blood and bone. She's never tried to to do it anyone else, so she's isn't sure if she even could, but is pretty sure she can't. Her bones and blood replenish incredibly fast, meaning she can remove her own bones and fashion them into weapons, and they'll rebuild themselves.
This does require energy, and she has to drink a shitton of milk and eat things like red meat, spinach, and beans to replenish those resources. With an incredible amount of energy, she can built 'zombies', creatures made from her blood and bones that are under her complete control, though not living.

Backstory:
Her family has lived in Tokyo almost her entire life. She has no clue who her father is, and if she ever did find out, she would probably very literally kill him. Her family? They're great and she loves all of them.
Got into hero-ing more seriously after being kidnapped by a criminal who had been terrorizing the surviving communities. She killed him, and decided she needed to protect people from that. More can definitely be expanded upon in the roleplay, it's so much fun to show things through the characters.
Made friends with a group of powered kids, and they do group justice and separate work, but try to get together as often as possible for normal hanging out.

Family:
Grandmother: Tokino Reiki, 79, the ability to replicate white blood cells in others, to help fight infections.
Mother: Tokino Koharu, 41, can change her blood type by touching someone with a different type, and replicate her red blood cells incredibly quick. Makes her a great blood donor.
Older sister: Tokino Asami, 20, same as her mother.
Younger brother: Tokino Maki, 12, clots really quick, meaning his injuries heal faster than other's.

Her father's Trick was mending bones quickly, and his family all had powers along those lines.

Other:
She is terrified of dolls of any sort. Like, a little kid's doll she can handle, though they make her nervous. But too many dolls, especially ones like porcelain and marionette freak her the hell out.
Really likes kara-age when it can be acquired.
Doesn't show too much emotion very often.

@LittleRiver local_movies

Full Name: Shota Katai
Nicknames/Aliases: Sho / Axis
Age: 19
Gender: Male h/h
Occupation: Vigilante, some kind of do-gooder by more… illegal means

Personality: Shota is very strategic and tactical, his mind working in mysterious ways to accomplish a task. He sees people more as puzzles that can be solved, and he's a major perfectionist. Shota is very sarcastic and often comes off as tired or moody. He doesn’t get flustered easily but he’s quick to anger, and will fight someone on any turn he disagrees with. His emotions are a wild roller coaster, and he’s quite impulsive. If he wants something, he’s bound to get it, one way or another. Also, when he cares about someone, he cares deeply. That’s his family. You don’t mess with that, unless you have a death wish.
Mannerisms: Cocks his head if he’s challenging someone / carries a very prideful posture / has a somewhat crooked smile, if you ever see it.
Hobbies: Vigilante-ing / Bare-knuckle boxing / ‘training,’ essentially / puzzles and puzzle boxes

Physical Appearance: Looks relatively like this. Skin paler and sicker than most, yet still holding slight color. Sunken blue eyes that hold knowledge beyond his years. His hair is a straight dark black that often falls in his face, contrasting with his skin. He seems to always look tired, but he still carries himself high and proud like a leader. His build is quite toned, though, but could still be considered lithe. Shota stands at about 5’8.”
Normal Attire / Gear:
Casual: Even when “casual,” Sho wears fancier things. It normally only goes to the extent of a collared shirt and slacks, though, as anything of greater quality either doesn’t exist anymore or ceases to permit moving swiftly. He tends to lean to darker blues and blacks, not opposed to wearing standard T-shirts as well, but he does take some pride in looking his best.
Power(s): Shota has an odd thing called Symmetry, thus giving him the name “Axis.” Basically, he can feel anything from one side of his body, on the other. For example, if someone taps him on the left shoulder from behind, he would feel that tap on both shoulders, instead of just the left.
The thing is, it works on other people as well.
Anything that Shota directly inflicts through physical contact is essentially doubled, because it effects both sides of a person’s body. For example, Sho could punch someone’s left arm, and the victim would then feel it in both arms, as well as Shota would feel the contact in both of his fists.
It also has a better effect if Shota inflicts something in the exact middle of a person’s body. Then, it would be like getting slugged in the gut twice, the pain or effect clearly doubled.
If any of that makes any sense.

Backstory: Tbd, I think. For now.
Family: Zero, my dude. Unless you count his “brother,” which is just a little boy that grew attached to him early on after losing his own family. His name is Zou, and his power is essentially the equivalent of lesser healing.
Other: He lives in an abandoned junkyard, which isn’t really a junkyard, it’s just the ruins of dilapidated buildings. It provides great shelter, though.
